I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Leicestershire hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am a male walker in my early 60s, based in Leicestershire. I am interested in meeting female 55-65 for walks or bike rides. I am reasonably fit and able to do around 10 miles walking. I have a hybrid bike that I use for mainly off road cycling. I live in the East Midlands, have transport, and am willing to travel. I work full time and will be free on Fri, Sat, and Sunday. I like keeping fit and will have a go at other activities outdoors or indoors. I look forward to hearing from you.

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have my own Campervan/Motorhome.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Mountain Biking

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Rotherham hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I can do up to 10 miles walking and 20 cycling. I've done most of the Derbyshire walks. Done a lot of the Yorkshire Post walks too, which are more North and west Yorkshire. These have a simply drawn map and description,which I've managed to take the lead. Only ever got lost once. A confusing description, and I wasn't the only one who thought so.

I prefer Autumn, Winter and Spring walks. Not too good in the blazing heat, too many freckles. But our summers aren't that hot, usually.

I'm happy to explore further afield, and discover new places. Northumberland is on my list, and Scotland.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Merseyside hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I walk between 5 and 12 miles most days locally, but really enjoy a day in The Lakes or Snowdonia. I have little or no experience of the Peak District, but would like to meet someone familar with the area, to show me some beautiful and challenging routes.
I also hanker after camping out whilst attempting more challenging routes, like the coast-to-coast, but have yet to do so.
I visit the gym 3 or 4 times a week and play football each week, so consider myself reasonably fit. I work from home and have extremely flexible hours, so have plenty of freedom to take off at relatively short notice.
I like people with a smile, sense of irony and a compassionate nature. I am happy to be challenged with contrary views and philosophies to my own, but draw the line at devotees of Trump and Farage.

My Message: Hello, I am looking for walking companions. Living close to the Peak district, this is where I do most of my walking. I usually walk around 8_10 miles, but don't mind short walks too and like to take in the scenery, photography playing a big part of my memories. I have visited many walking areas and really enjoyed them, in particular the Long Mynd, Pembroke coast, Lake District, Devon, Dorset and Yorkshire.
At the end of a walk I find nothing to beat a hearty pub meal and a pint. Looking forward to hearing from you.

My Message: Hi, I'd like to meet people to go walking with, and possibly a bit of kayaking and mountain biking. I love walking in the Peak District, Lake District, the South West and am starting to explore Scotland. I've done some kayaking in the South West and would love to explore other coasts, lakes and rivers. I also love sailing. I would especially like to meet someone to share winter walking adventures on snow.

I would like to meet other enthusiastic, outdoorsy, down to earth people who like exploring and who care for the countryside they love so much.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Gillingham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Paul and I started walking during the first Covid lockdown to improve my physical health and mental well-being.

I had also hoped it would reduce my waistline, but I like my food too much. Fitness has improved, but weight loss is still a work in progress. I have recently started indoor cycling as well to burn some more calories and wouldn't mind going for a bike ride either.

I've increased my walking distance over time and can now comfortably manage up to 10 miles a day and continuing to increase this further.

I've only walked around Kent so far and would like to walk further afield and see as much of the UK and beyond as possible. I'm self employed so pretty flexible when it comes to when I can walk and I drive, so travelling to meet up for walks is no problem.

I'm up for an adventure or challenge and equally like walking along the coast or in the countryside. Day walks, weekend walks, camping or backpacking are fine by me. Picnic stops to admire the views and visiting places of interest along the way, followed by a nice pub at the end of the day are some of my favourite things. I like most genres of music, have a wicked sense of humour and am very easy going.

If you would like some company on a walk or bike ride, please get in touch.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Rugby hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi! I'm Andy. Having recently taken early retirement I want to spend as much time as possible walking and exploring our beautiful country (and abroad, when we're allowed!), something I didn't have enough time to do when I was working. I often walk alone, but it would be good to have company sometimes, especially on trips further afield and multiday walks. I go walking midweek (Monday to Thursday) which might fit your schedule if you work shifts or at weekends.

A perfect walk for me is one where you can constantly look around in awe at fantastic scenery, so I tend to gravitate towards hillwalking, mountains and coasts. I am reasonably fit and may walk up to 13 miles in a day, but I always look at the quality of the walk rather than the length, so often walk shorter distances. A perfect walk should also have some food and a couple of beers built in, either during or afterwards (preferably both!)

My day-walking in the past few years has been in the Peak District and The Cotswolds, as they are fairly local to me, but with longer trips to Snowdonia and Scotland. However, I am a confident navigator and am looking forward to exploring other areas of the country. I am a fan of staying in nice pubs with rooms when away from home for a night or two.

My Message: Greetings!
I'm looking for anyone planning to walk up Helvelyn on Saturday or Scafell Pike on Sunday - either or both vice versa, depending on the weather and wind of course! Currently set to attempt both alone however would much prefer a walking buddy at this time of year! After running my first marathon last month my legs are itching for something big to climb! Currently walking locally with a friend when I can, but have the opportunity for this particular weekend off duty from my three young children, so looking for something of a challenge!

I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Stansted hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, long distance point to point walking is my favourite type of walking although love a weekend in the lakes or similar. Ive just does the wainwrights Coast to Coast, and previously have walked the West Highland Way and the first part of the GR5 in the alps amongst others. I do have a dog and would like to walk a bit more with him as he can do long distances but so far haven't taken him on many trips so he can stay at home if thats a deal breaker. I am going to take a sabbatical from work next year and keen to pack plenty of walking in. Some more of the GR5 next summer is at the top of the list and then the Pembrokeshire way.
I am reasonably fit - happy to walk in all weathers (although wouldn't we all prefer a bit of sunshine and blue skies !) for up to 8 or so hours a day with a pub at the end ideally!

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Burnley hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi everyone I'm Chris and would like to meet some new friends to do some walks with me and my black Labrador, Jack :-) I'm fairly easy going, enjoy having a laugh and like nothing better than a nice country pub at the end. I would prefer people who are reasonably physically fit as I usually walk 8 miles plus. I don't mind walking with just one other person or in a group. If we go for a walk in a group I prefer groups of 4 or less as it's easier that way if you have a dog. Previously I've walked up mountains in Scotland, Yorkshire Dales and Lakes and I've just started checking off a few Wainwright's. But happy to go walking anywhere in North West really. I'm ok with map reading, it's fairly easy with right apps on your phone. I work during the week so would prefer weekends really but can give myself the odd day off in the week every now and then if needed. Did the West Highland Way a few years ago and would love to do a few more long distance trails sometime.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 30s, based near East London hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I have very much embraced long distance walking here in the UK since the pandemic hit us.

When I have a spare weekend day, I tend to do a section of the North Downs or South Downs Way. I just completed the SDW.

I recently completed 100km section of the Jurassic Coast over 2 days for charity.

I have Epping Forest literally on my doorstep so if I can't fit a journey in, I can be found very local too.

I'm about to travel to the Lake District for the 3rd time in a year for a walking holiday. I will be solo camping in Great Langdale, walking by day and spending my evenings lapping up the atmosphere and beer/wine at The Old Dungeon Ghyll.

I would love to bag all of the Wainwrights (currently very low in my progress). I am walking Wainwright's Coast to Coast next summer. Walking the Camino is also on the bucket list.

Whilst I do enjoy solo adventures I'd love some company for more adventurous hikes and climbs in the Lake District to build confidence with the higher fells.

I work full-time from home in East London so my walking is on the weekends except when I take a walking holiday.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 3:4:5:6:7:8:9:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West England; The English Midlands; East Anglia; South East England;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. I'm happy to walk in most weathers but do not like snow and ice. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I don't drive.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 70s, based near Fleetwood hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, I'm David, single, 74 and retired (summer '12), I live in beautiful Fylde,having moved from my native Manchester, and would like to meet singles or a group to make walking more pleasurable. I'm not that experienced a walker so may have to be gradually more adventurous in my excursions, having said that my last job was very active so I need more than a gentle stroll to the pub. An active stroll to the pub, then, or a tea shop or whatever. My map reading skills are reasonable, I think, and I have a good sense of direction. Anybody reasonably local who would like to join forces with me, please get in touch. Dog owners welcome, though cats preferred!

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I prefer warm, dry & sunny weather but can cope with the odd shower. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 30s, based near Sunderland hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I've always been interested in hiking up mountains but never gave myself the time for it. I'm wanting to learn to read a map and navigate properly, and put more effort in and build experience so i can tackle the more exposed ridges.
I want build up to walk the west highland way, finished with Nevis, and also the pennine way. Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro is also a target of mine.
I have kids every other weekend, so it will be my weekends without I'm available.. Once they're a little older they will come with me.

A bit more about me:

I love Scrambling & Edges - the more exposure the better. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. If pushed, I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are rather poor at best. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Cheshire West hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I like nothing more than a day walk, any time of year, whatever the weather. I prefer a more challenging walk but strolls are welcome too. I love being amongst nature, I find it very calming and grounding after a set of shifts.

I'd like to find a fit walking friend who doesn't mind what the weather brings.
I am not looking for a relationship, just a likeminded individual to share some pleasant hikes with.

I enjoy ridge walks and have done the CMD arĂȘte, Crib Goch, Aonach Eagach and lots of the other main ones. Scrambling is a passion too - the Wildboarclough one is my favourite to date. I enjoy Snowdonia, Tryfan, Snowdon, The Glyders etc. I'm happy on flatter walks too - I was brought up in Lincolnshire! I like cycling too, I've a road and mountain bike. I have a car so travelling is no problem.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Manchester hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, my name's Frank and I'm just the wrong side of 60 - or the right side depending on your viewpoint.

Earlier this year I rediscovered walking and have fallen back in love with the great outdoors. After four months of weekly activity I'm healthier and fitter and ready to tackle adventures I could only have dreamt of a year ago.

From the outset I targeted the Wainwrights as something to aim for and for now I'm concentrating on completing this challenge in the Lakes. So far I've walked 95 of the peaks, driving from Manchester at the weekends as I'm still gainfully employed during the week. Most of my jaunts are 12 - 14 miles and encompass 5 - 8 peaks, though I did recently re-walk the Yorkshire three peaks.

Along the way I've met a lot of interesting people and after stumbling on this site I'm hoping to find walking companions with whom to share a pleasant day in the fresh air and some good company on my personal odyssey.

I can also get out on summer evenings round Manchester though I'd have to work round other interests such as dancing. If you think a steep ascent is hard a couple of Argentine tango lessons will redefine your sense of difficulty!

A bit more about me:

I love Scrambling & Edges - the more exposure the better. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Cheshire hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Enjoy walking and off to Lakes for a few days on my own and found this site whilst searching for a couple of walks around Coniston and Ambleside. Have moved back to Cheshire recently and thought it might be interesting to find walking companions. Never thought about asking for walking companions.

Currently work in Liverpool during the week with a combination of working from home so tend to walk at night or weekends. Enjoy Cheshire walks and wider Walks in Wales, Lakes, etc and happy for 2-4 hour routes with a bit of variety but don't always want to drive to walk when I'm on my own. Generally expect to be available every other weekend.

Have kept active over lockdown and average around 20 miles a week but still have potential and ambition to lose a few pounds in walking more regularly. Don't really have a bucket list of walks but would be happy to join up and target specific walks or a series of walks.
