I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Oldham.

My Message: Hi, I'm a chatty-ish lady who loves walking and scrambling up small rocks to reach the top, I've done the three peaks - separately I might add! My absolute dream is to go to see the Eiger - not to climb it tho, I also love camping. My son (who's 10) and i also love all parts of Derbyshire. We enjoy walking anywhere, be it mooching around pretty villages or up a mountain, long as there's a pub along the way! We enjoy cycling too but I can get further by walking. We'd like to meet like minded people to join up with and discover more of our beautiful outdoors. Please get in touch if you'd like to meet up, weekends only usually due to work/school, thanks.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Morpeth.

My Message: Hi I'm Anna and looking to get started on walking regularly at weekends. I'm interested in taking in what's around me and having a chat along the way. I live in Northumberland so this beautiful area as well as the rest of the NE is an ideal place for me to get going. My view of walking is for enjoyment and not army style training. So if you're interested in going for a walk for a few hours it would be good to hear from you.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 30s, based near Chulmleigh.

My Message: Hi, I'm James from North Devon. Walking has really helped me to recover my strength and stamina after a long period of illness. Dartmoor is right on my doorstep and I have been making a determined effort this year to get to know it better. Wild camping on the moor has a deeply therapeutic effect on me - underlining the importance of keeping things simple and in balance.

I usually walk alone, my friends are usually busy, and I think some company would be nice. Dartmoor is a wonderful playground that I would never tire of but I am happy to try anywhere in the UK that I can reach by train. I have a spare tent that I can lend out if you are not sure whether camping is your thing but would like to give it a go without spending lots of money. Looking forward to hearing from you.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Beverley.

My Message: Hi 52. Looking initially to do some of the national trails - ideally 3 - over the summer of this year (2014). Open to other suggestions, but the plan is Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast, then Cotswolds and finally either the Hadrian's Wall walk, or Pembrokeshire Coast Path.

A lot of history - but that is the problem - it is history! So fitness has slid away, and I am looking to put that right as gently as possible. Add in a splash of photography for my own travelogue, and basically you have it. Gentle walks over some distance (anticipating camping as a default) with frequent photo stops.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Tucson, Az Usa.

My Message: Hello Walkers (female & male)

I'm a desert-dwelling American hoping to arrange some walks for a holiday upcoming this summer. My dates are 27 June until 13 July. The only date I'm unavailable to walk is 3 July, when I have a London meeting.

Though I have some interest in Hadrian's Wall, I am open to walking in any part of the UK to which I can take public transport or hitch a ride, and where a good pint is never far off. I'm keen to find good company and lots of 'exotic' (non-arid!) scenery.

So, if you're looking for a walking buddy, or care to be a tour-guide for a visitor, please drop me a line!

Best,

Leigh

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Bradford.

My Message:
Hi, I'm Ruth and have just joined this site. I've been walking on my own for a few years now but getting fed up with my own company and would prefer to share the walks, the views and the weather (good and bad) with someone.
I'm a steady away kinda gal (that's Yorkshire speak for slow!) but happily do 20 miles a day on a weekend in the Dales or Peak District. Alternatively weekends away further afield in the Lakes, Snowdonia or Scotland are my preferred areas.
Happy with either a buttie break on the hillside or pub grub afterwards but always like to finish with a drop of liquid refreshment.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Northallerton.

My Message: Hello. I am a recently retired fit and active 64 year old single female who has every intention of walking as much of our own country as possible and for as long as I am fit and able to do so. All my friends are still working (poor things) and I would much rather walk with a friend (male or female) than on my own. I live about 40 minutes north of York and have a car so a reasonable travelling distance is not a problem and as work is no longer a consideration Ė any day is fine.
I love any distance of walk but am probably happiest between 8 and 12 miles with time to stop and enjoy the beauty of the countryside, am quite happy to walk whatever the weather (almost!) Ė and if there happens to be a teashop on the journeyÖ. Well I admit I take some dragging past it!
Would welcome replies from any age and either sex but please donít ask me to go campingÖ. Where on earth would I plug in the hairdryer???

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Whitby.

My Message: I'm a novice intending to get into more walking this year. I relish fresh air and country or coastal views, but it would be so much more encouraging, and fun, to share the experience with an interesting male walker and enjoy pleasant conversation, maybe incorporating a visit to a historical site or area of natural interest. I'm a professional artist and take inspiration from the coast and from quaint or unusual architecture. I like to take photos now and then whilst walking. I can walk weekdays or weekends, depending on my varied work schedule, and I'm a car owner. I enjoy looking at maps, and I CAN read them - but I wouldn't rely on it!

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Hexham.

My Message: Male, 50, (gay if that matters) who goes walking most months with a club, for a day in the Lakes, but other than that and a couple of days during Lakes/Dales holidays get little opportunity. My partner hates walking and my sister and brother in law can't get away often enough (just those two holidays). I have gone walking alone, which is great for thinking time, but views are better shared and having someone to talk to/keep you going is a definite improvement.
Trying to get through the Wainwrights, now on 165. I work a rota system that gives a mix of days free weekday and weekend, with 6 out of 8 weekends free.
I love steady Lakeland walks, with a couple of Wainwright summits (or more!), plus friendly banter over a few real ales in the pub after. I am looking for like minded, Wainwright bagging, company as view admiration is better shared.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Faringdon Oxon.

My Message: Hi, Iím Steve, 55, 5í 6Ē tall, average build, but not as fit as I think I am! Iím looking for a female walking companion to share big & small adventures in the great outdoors. I have the Ridgeway and Cotswolds close by but prefer the high places like the Lake District, Snowdonia and the Brecons and head for them when time and funds allow. I also enjoy coastal walks or mooching around a town. I love camping and am looking to trying wild camping this year as Iím a keen photographer wanting to capture mountain sunrises and sunsets. Not averse to the odd B&B or hotel now and again though. I work office hours so am usually free at weekends, and summer evenings locally. I think Iím a reasonable navigator (thank you GPS!). And itís always nice to go for a drink and chat at the end of the day. Iím not really into route marches but like to stop to admire the view and take photos. Happy to walk in all weathers. Happy in my own company but it would be great to have a like-minded soul along for the journey.

My Message: Hello, Iím Sandi, fit and 59, no partner and in a full-time job but with weekends free. Done good distances all round Europe and Africa and back home I walk, run or cycle 4 and a half miles to and from work most days but really like to stretch my legs a good 12 Ė 16 miles at the weekends when possible dependent on the season and daylight. Moonwalks and Marathon walks also done and still on the list and I would really like to meet up with anyone wanting to share company and make new friends and am happy to travel or make a weekend of it somewhere. I am a Male Walker, in my early 40s, based near Grassington.

My Message: Hi - my name is Dave, I'm single, 42 years old and live in a small village near Grassington right in the heart of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. I have been walking locally 'up hill and down dale' for many years usually just me and my beloved (but grumpy!) border collie but as she's nearing 13 she's struggling to manage the longer days. Walking alone does get very dull so I'm now looking for a female walking companion to enjoy long day walks or shorter walks with, someone who doesn't mind the walk ending in an inviting pub to finish the day over a pint or two!! I do love the Dales but keen to explore further afield so anyone who might have knowledge or a desire to walk elsewhere across the North of England would be a bonus
I'm also interested in long distance walks over a couple of days or more, camping or BandBs en route - I completed the Dales Way with a group from work last year and loved every step of it... !

Thanks for looking - if you are interested I would be happy to hear from you.
Dave

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Bedford.

My Message: Hi, I'm Caroline. I love the outdoor life, particularly walking in the hills. There's nothing better than reaching the top of a mountain on a crisp, sunny morning and enjoying the view. Getting there is the is the challenge! Over the years I've enjoyed walking in most of the peaks and mountains of Britain, but there are still many new routes to discover. It would be great to share the experience with a like minded male. To walk, talk and share the apres adventure. If you like the idea drop me a line.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 40s, based near Blackpool.

My Message: I have become more into walking longer, more challenging routes in the last 12 months but there is still more to do!! My favourite places are the Trough / Forest of Bowland and Yorkshire Dales. Haven't quite got myself up to Ben Nevis standard yet but definitely prefer longer walks to shorter ones. I am based in Blackpool and I have a couple of friends I walk with on occasion (human), and sometimes my husband will come out with me but his work shifts can get in the way. I also have my two faithful walking pals (canine) that accompany me on all walks. If dogs can't go then I don't go! I would like to find walking companions male or female with or without dogs (as long as they don't mind mine) to swap new walks with and for some company. I work two days a week regularly then have a lot of flexibility the rest of the time for outings during weekdays (preferably) or weekends. I am totally rubbish at map reading although that said I have managed to find my way home every time! If I'm out walking then I am not at home snacking!! :-)

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Milton Keynes.

My Message: Hi my name is Jan and would love to find a walking friend to share some of the walks I do fairly regularly and also to share all the lovely walks that I have yet to discover! Having lived in the North West up until a couple of years ago I got to walk many areas in the Yorkshire Dales, Cumbria, Howgills and Lancashire and I still go up there as often as I can and know some parts very well but always willing to do some new ones even areas I have never been to! I am based down in Buckinghamshire now and am happy to walk around here and the surrounding counties as well as in the north, as it's always better to be in the great outdoors! It would be great to be contacted by someone in the Dales as I try to spend as much time there as I can but would be lovely to have a companion here in this area where I am currently. I consider myself reasonably fit but not really sporty and am happiest doing walks up to about 8-9 miles and to stop occasionally to appreciate the scenery! I consider myself an easy going laid back sort of person and enjoy a sense of humour in someone else. I am single and about 5' 5", medium to slightly plump build with blond/grey hair and have two sons and four grandchildren. My other interests are in drawing and sketching, reading and of course to be out and about in the countryside. Well that's enough about me, I look forward to hearing from you, please get in touch!

I am a Female Walker, in my early 40s, based near Birmingham.

My Message: Hello there I seem to have ticked an awful lot of boxes where I would like to walk. Im not sure if it was meant to be areas where you would like to access in a weekend. If so I obviously wont be able to go to some of these (eg orkney!).
Anyway Im writing this as i hope to find more friends to go on walking trips with and maybe even walking holidays. Ive done walking hols abroad in the past but they have mainly been with companies like Exodus. I'd like to do my own trips with some like minded friends in the future.
But for now I'd just be happy to meet some people to do trips at the weekend with. Ive done quite a bit of walking with walking clubs in the past but I'd like to make it a bit more adventurous by going with friends and finding our own way.
Anyway I wont waffle on too much for now and hope to hear from someone!
