I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Shrewsbury hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I mix and match my walks, so that can mean anything from a short river stroll to a long distance path. My multiday walks typically involve camping and everything that comes with that,I'm planning to do the Great Glen Way later this year although I am yet to decide between doing it in the Spring or Autumn. Also, I've recently booked a one way flight to France with a view to walking across the Pyrenees and possibly further, the exact details and return date may not be decided until I'm actually there.
I also do short trips away walking (or mostly walking) several times a year where I based in one place, again camping. I'm only a couple of hours from the Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia.
A few years ago I rearranged my life so I now have a lot of flexibility in my life, the chances are that I cam fit in with your schedule.
I also enjoy overseas travel which doesn't necessarily include strenuous hikes, I have recently returned from trip to Moroccan Sahara with a vehicle. I am currently jumping between ideas for next winter.... any suggestions?
As you may have noticed, I ticked the box to say that I am looking for walking friends but I would be happy if someone special came along. If you think you might be that'someone special' then I'm happy to share a bit more about myself.
I hope to hear from you soon.
My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:5:6:7:8:9:
My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; North East Scotland; Southern Scotland; North East England; North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; Wales; The Heart of England;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)
A bit more about me:
When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it.
With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs.
I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own.
Even if I say so myself, I consider my map reading & navigation skills to be excellent.
I can drive and have a car.
I am also interested in:
- Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
- Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
- Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
- Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;
I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Lincoln hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi. I'm semi retired and live near Lincoln. I love the outdoors and love to spend my time walking, running and even gardening. Anything to be outside. I do most of my walking in the Peak District and some on the Lincolnshire Wolds. Im always happy to explore and have previously walked in the Lakes, Wales and Scotland, I'm also thinking of getting a camper van to travel further afield. My partner is not really interested in my love of walking and not that keen on the great outdoors. I do a lot of walking on my own but would enjoy some company, ideally someone who loves being outdoors like me and who doesn't mind a bit of weather. My work pattern varies so I can be free mid week and weekends too.
This year I've started to tick off the Wainwrights (34 so far this year) and I've taken the plunge and ordered a camper van. I'd also like to do a few wild camps.
My Preferred Walk Grades*: 2:3:4:5:6:7:8:9:

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 70s, based near Bradford, West Yorkshire hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hello, I'm Roy, a young at heart fell walker looking for an easy going walking companion for walks both at home and abroad. I love the countryside so I'm not really fussed about particular areas in this country. The ones I've selected are where I walk regularly but would like to explore a little further afield and don't mind travelling to a decent walk. Abroad, my favourite walking areas are within the Mediterranean Climate Regions (prefer the more reliable weather!). Not into route marches or wild camping. Much prefer to take in the scenery, wildlife, local history and a suitable hostelry en route! I also have a wide range of other interests which include cycling, hot air ballooning, theatre and travel. I'm also pet friendly so don't mind a canine companion coming along. Look forward to hearing from you, Roy.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Glasgow hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hi, I live in Glasgow, with my border collie Rannoch, not too far from Loch Lomond. I used to be a regular walker in my younger days and I'm looking to get back into the great outdoors but would prefer to do it with some company, so I am looking for new friends to go walking with.
In the past I did the West Highland Way three times, The Great Glen Way once. Nowadays I'm a lot slower but I find that a good thing as it means I'm out in the green stuff longer.
I'm easy going, enjoy new challenges, and always up for a laugh, life's too short to be too serious !!!
I like to play guitar, love nature, wildlife, taking photos, and enjoy the simple pleasures in life.
If you fancy some company on a walk please get in touch.

If pushed, I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are rather poor at best.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Stoke On Trent hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I'm an early retired 64 year old living in the Staffordshire Moorlands. I moved here when I retired as I enjoy walking in the Peak District so much but also enjoy walking in other areas. Location isn't too important as I am prepared to travel to meet for a walk.
I am fit and competent and enjoy a challenging walk or an easy walk and I like to take in the views whichever. I am open to any level of walk as it's sometimes good to just get out and it's always good to find a good pub or cafe at the end. As well as walking I also enjoy running and cycling although I can just enjoy being outdoors watching and listening. It's the simple things in life that appeal to me most.
As much as I enjoy the outdoors it is by no means everything to me. I enjoy listening to a lot of music having a very broad taste and especially like live music but not in big venues. I also enjoy cinema and theatre or just having a chat in a café or pub with friends.
It would be great to share the outdoors and other things with a like minded woman though I have a very inquisitive mind and I'd be more than happy to be introduced to new interests.
My boring details are I'm single with no children or any other ties. I'm 5'8" and slim/average build.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near West Malling hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hi everyone, I'm katherine and love walking as much as the rest of you. I would like to go walking and mountaineering with someone who is as passionate about the mountains as I am. Was hoping to go wild camping this year for a weekend in the summer so if you are up for that I'd love the company as I won't do on my own.
I've done a lot of the Lakes having spent all my holidays there. Recently completed Ben Nevis with my teenagers! Boy that was hard work but we achieved it. So basically that means we've done the 3 peaks and looking to attempt lots more this year.
I live in the Kent and regularly go cycling along the north downs. I walk reguarly but its so much better to have someone with you. If there happens to be a special person out there hey that's great, if not just making new friends would be fabulous too.
Looking forward to hearing from you

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near York hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hello, I'm on the lookout for new walking companions that share my passion for walking in the hills. I try to get out into the North York Moors or Dales as frequently as possible. Weekends in Snowdonia and Cumbria are always treasured. I'm trying to expand my general wildlife knowledge and have also started dabbling in some basic foraging. I usually manage to walk abroad once a year (the Julian Alps in Slovenia are my absolute favourite). Would love to hook up with like minded folk to share a walk or two so please get in touch. Thanks for reading.Patrick.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Exeter hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello!
I'm 60 and a self confessed walkaholic! It's really nice to think there are others who share my love of connecting with the natural world in a way that feeds the heart and soul. In recent years, I have done several long distance walks over 2-6 weeks. This is the way I most enjoy walking. It's good to have a destination but the journey and the lovely people you meet along the way are much more important to me. One of the reasons I love long distance walking is having the freedom to walk as long as it's enjoyable and safe rather than feeling I have to reach a particular point on the map each day. I generally walk about 10 miles a day depending on the terrain, and make it possible with a mix of wild and tame camping as well as the odd night in civilisation.
Over the last year, I haven't been for an adventure because I've had a beautiful Ukrainian family living with me. They now have their own home so I'm ready to walk again.🥾 Normally I walk alone and enjoy the peace and stillness that lone walking brings. I'm now beginning to think that it would be sensible to have a buddy to walk with. When I walk alone, I rarely get lost but when walking with friends, we frequently get lost because we're talking so much. :) Therefore I am hoping to find a confident map reader to walk with!
Quite recently I have been widowed and am now looking to embrace life and all the good things it has to offer. I work part time and my hours are flexible making it quite easy to go for a walk. I would love to hear from you if your love of walking in wild places resonates with mine.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Bushey hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hello, I'm David, I'm 64 and widowed. Life is for living and I'm not ready to just sit back in a comfortable armchair having spent a number of years bringing up a young family alone. I'm hoping to make new friends for adventures and challenges,both here in the UK and overseas. I want to grab life for myself and start exploring the great outdoors. I'm fit and love being outdoors in all weathers, either walking or running. There aren't many hills in Hertfordshire so I'm happy to travel, although I'm also interested in more local walks across fields, bridleways and canal footpaths, especially if there is the incentive of coffee and cake. I'm generally a novice walker although have previously walked in the Peak District, Yorkshire, The Lake District and Scotland. My kids say they have the local care home on speed dial so I'm hoping to be rescued.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Brierfield hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hello. I'm an athletic and active 62 yr old male (who still thinks he's 25). I retired from policing and all those years of walking the beat. I've been back packing around the world, done Kilimanjaro, Everest Base Camp, Machu Picchu etc. but still loads to see. It would be great to explore with a like minded female companion or any groups. I'm based in Briarfield near Burnley but, as a part time pensioner and Sports Coach (!) I've got time, spontaneity, solvency and inclination to bag those peaks. So do get in touch... I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Nottingham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I live close to the Peak District. I know it really well and love it, but equally love walking in Wales, The Lakes, Yorkshire, Northumbria and other parts too. I first got the walking bug whilst doing a charity walk in Snowdonia in 1998 (Crib Goch at 4 a.m.). I'm happy walking on hilltops and along valleys, canals, rivers and dales. I walk to chill and enjoy what's there and around me, not to race to the end. What would make my day complete though is some good company to share the views, some good conversation (serious or silly), laughter and after walk refreshments or a meal. I'm just into my 70's but am fit and younger in appearance and character. I can get along with most people of all ages. I generally like to walk between 5-15 miles I'm chilled, have a quick wit and great sense of humour. I drive and don't see anywhere on the mainland as too far. My other interests are landscape photography, art, city breaks and the theatre to mention a few but always happy to try something new. If you enjoy your walking and are interested in joining me, do please get in touch.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 70s, based near North Yorkshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: I am passionate about the hills, wild places and like a challenge. I'm easy going and have a soh - semi-retired so can walk in the week as well as at week-ends. I usually walk with groups, friends or alone to practice navigation (which I am reasonable at). I am a reasonably fit 'plodder' and hillwalking is my main interest - its always better to share adventures with likeminded others. I moved to the Yorkshire dales five years ago and am enjoying having some great walking on the doorstep. I've walked extensively in Scotland, Lake District, North Wales and Europe. I'm seeking walking buddies who might be interested in doing long distance paths here or abroad and/or hillwalking in the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District, Northumberland or Scotland. I'm used to driving to walk locations.
My Preferred Walk Grades*: 4:5:6:7:8:
My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; Southern Scotland; North East England; North West England; Yorkshire;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)
A bit more about me:
I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure.
I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on.
I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other.
To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average.
I can drive and have a car.
I am also interested in:
- Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
- Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
- Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
- Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near West Yorkshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi all,
I'm a late-forties male, and I would like to meet a new female walking partner and also friends either male or female. Time spent walking and enjoying our wonderful countryside just being outdoors is even better with the right person.
I enjoy all forms of walking, multi-day, long distance paths and less strenuous steady day walks too. Oddly enough my walks usually end at a nice country pub or two! Can't think why...There is nothing nicer than a lovely pub at the end of a great days walking.
I'm experienced at map reading and navigating and I enjoy the planning of walks on both traditional paper maps and also using GPS.
Sometimes I'll take a lightweight tent and camp and make it an outdoors weekend or stay in a B&B when exploring new areas.
My 'bread and butter' walking area is Yorkshire but I'm equally happy anywhere in the countryside.
I work part-time; so I've some availability on a weekday and also some weekends too. If you want a partner or friend to walk with who won't get you lost (I promise!) and has a good sense of humour, that could be me! Please do drop me a line..

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Rotherham hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am looking to meet people who own boots and wellies and don't mind getting them covered in mud. I am happy to meet people of any age who shared a love of the outdoors and doesn't mind me stopping from time to time to take photographs.
The Peak District is on my doorstep, but have walked in areas including Wales, the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District, Assynt in Scotland. I have been up Ben Nevis, Snowdon, and Scafell Pike, but would happily walk there again.
I have done the three peaks in the Yorkshire Dales but over a couple of days.
I work full time in a college, but school holidays and weekends I am free. Evening walks are possible if they are local.
My level of fitness is good and improving, though that is a story to share during a walk.
I am a life member of English Heritage and the National Trust. As such I can visit such places with a guest. I love photography, history, wildlife etc. I would rather not talk about education or computing (Unless its for a good cause).
My walking aims are to look at amazing views, Camp in amazing places including a plot of land I can wild camp on in Scotland, and just enjoy it all.
If you are cold, wet, have been rained on all day and can still smile then anything is possible.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Wakefield hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: My absolute best place to be is outdoors walking the hills, dales, valleys... feeling freeee and being amongst the natural world. I've enjoyed walking for many years, and although never been a big mountaineer, over the years I have found myself drawn to these dramatic landscapes (Skye, The Hebrides, Glencoe, Scotland, The Lakes). I am equally besotted with the other end of the UK being fortunate enough to have lived in the south west region for just over a couple of years and was absolutely blown away by the coast walking. (I'm also happy to have an amble locally too).
I'm preety flexible on when and where I can walk and kinda fit ish (I think). My usual distance is between 6-8 miles. Whilst I have never learned the skill of map reading I do have several walking books which line my book shelf to support the maps !
So if you fancy doing some post lockdown walks and sharing a sarni and a flask en route it would be good to hear from you.
