I am a Female Walker, in my late 30s, based near Glasgow hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Looking for walking companion(s). I stay in Glasgow and love hillwalks, coastal paths, countryside and nature reserves and generally just being out and about. Love wild camping out on the hills too. I enjoy a wide variety of conversation topics, am non- judgemental and enjoy listening to people. I've been walking locally 2-3 times a week over the past 3 months and looking forward now to getting back out and about a bit further afield, especially for some hillwalking. I would be free some weekends and sometimes on a Tuesday or Wednesday (any meetups/logistics obviously as appropriate to any relevant coronavirus restrictions!)

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:5:6:7:8:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; North East Scotland; Southern Scotland;

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in most weathers but do not like snow and ice. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;

I am based in Lancashire however I can drive and have a car so I am willing to go further afield. However, I would really like to challenge myself and I hope to meet like minded people. I have a springer spaniel who would be joining me.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Nottingham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi. I'm an easy-going romantic with a love of the countryside - high rugged areas, green and pleasant lands, peaceful valleys and windswept ridges. Not averse to a few home comforts, nice BandBs, concerts, cooking, camping if needs must. Working, but lots of spare weekdays and weekends, plenty of ideas of what I want to do more of - visits to the Highlands, Wales, and anywhere else that takes my fancy. It would be nice to share these good times with a like-minded, independent female. You will find me (I hope) considerate, good-humoured and honest.
Live near Nottingham but travelling not a problem.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 40s, based near Narberth hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi there, I accidentally stumbled on this site when looking for walking groups, but this looks much better. I thought why not, this may be what I've been looking for.
I'm a young 42 year old. I work and live in Pembrokeshire, lucky me ! I really enjoy walking/ hiking, Snowdon and last year Mount Teide in Tenerife, have been my latest adventures. I'd like to do more hiking abroad, Peru is on my list. I've done some of the Pembrokeshire coast path with work but not as much as I would like. It's such a waste as it's on my doorstep ! I do walk on my own here, but it would be nice once in a while to walk with others. So if your looking to walk here and you need a fellow walking companion or up for walking somewhere else, give me a shout. Look forward to hearing from you.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 40s, based near Oakham, Rutland hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi everyone, I would love to meet up with other people to walk - virtually anywhere. I particularly love hill-walking (Scotland, Lakes and Snowdonia my favourite) and have bagged some 3000fters, but am keen to walk anywhere. Friends and family are just not hikers. Even my dog is ageing so much that a short walk around the park will satisfy him (he stays at home/in the car when I walk).

I love camping, hiking in beautiful scenery, and would love some company. I have a car and am happy to travel, although of course if you are closer to me meeting up for a day hike will be easier. With a busy work schedule, I am generally a weekend walker but will take time off when I get a walking opportunity that is too good to miss.

My Message: I'm an adventurous hiker, walking long distances but also chill out shorter strolls in North Wales, Peak District and Lake District. I'm wishing to meet a female walker friend maybe more who enjoys long walks and which we can enjoy the beautiful countryside and mountains of Britain. I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Matlock hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Adrian, single, retired, fit, and keen to meet an active fit female walking companion to explore our beautiful islands, and further afield. I have a camper van to tour and also to use as a mobile base for circular and linear walks, perhaps on long distance national trails. I enjoy all types of walks both short and full day walks and long distance. I have completed a number of classic long distance paths including The Pennine Way and Wainwrights Coast to Coast, but I'm not against doing these again if my companion wished to do them. Not so good on heights these days so I avoid walking on high level narrow ledges. I am a vegetarian who occasionally eats fish, non competitive nature, passionate about our natural world, fun loving, often quirky. Other interests include camping, cycling, casual nature walks, am NT and RSPB member, conservation volunteering, reading, eclectic taste in music, art cinema, theatre, the arts, wildlife gardening and DIY. Am politically a bit of a lefty. If any of this appeals, please get in touch.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Cockermouth hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi!

I'm fairly new to Cumbria -having recently moved to the area - after many years ambition to do so! So, primarily looking for male/female friends 'into the outdoors' - mainly fell walking/scrambling and Munro bagging. In the main, I walk with my best friend and very fit ESS (English Springer Spaniel.) So, you must like dogs and be fit!

I now have all the Wainwrights 'in the bag' but require a bigger bag for the Munros with still over 184 to complete. This requires more travelling over the border and would prefer to do with an affable and experienced walking partner. HA! If you are up for that - good news!

I have recently started camping again - and would welcome the opportunity to wild camp.

I have travelled extensively and trekked in many parts of the world - but always the UK I return to - and love.

I'm not looking for a relationship per se - just friends to share my love of the outdoors, hopefully with a good line in chat, ability not to take things (themselves) too seriously and up for a bit of 'leg pulling!'Enjoying the craic!'

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 6:7:8:9:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; North East Scotland; Southern Scotland; North West England;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I like walking with dogs and will bring my own. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Amersham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I'm based in S Bucks but love the mountains and hills: Peaks, Dartmoor, Beacons, Shropshire hills, mid-Wales, N and S Downs. I can get to them all in no more than three hours, have a great day's walking, and home again - as long as I'm out of the car for more than I'm in it, that's OK.

If you'd like to meet for a walk in these or any other (not too flat) regions, and are looking for friendship and company, I'd love to hear from you.

I've recently (2017) taken to my tent again after many years, so a bike ride with tent (and maybe skis) turns into a splendid adventure. The Lakes, Snowdonia, and Scotland are the real draws though, especially in winter conditions. I've been up to the far NW and the W and Central Highlands for the last few years and love them. And the Alps of course, and Arctic Norway!

I like mountains and hills. I walk among them and try to ski (downhill and touring) them, and recently mountain bike through them to save my legs when getting to the more remote ones. Try imagining the peaks and valleys under a kilometre of ice shaping the Lakes or Highlands into the dramatic wild places they can be today!

Until recently, I worked right in the middle of London which was enjoyable and different; I live at the end of a Tube line with a usually-muddy field-and-woods walk to my local station.

But I've made the move (end 2015) to working from home, in my own time, so I'm freed from the weekends-only bids for the outdoors.

Oh, and my name is Robert.

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 40s, based near Sheffield hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Lost my long term walking partner to a boyfriend, now I am looking for people/person to walk with. I previously loved walks in the Lakes or Snowdonia with a stayover at a pub and a beer. It would be fab to meet people to do things like that with. Also interested in challenges (did Everest Base Camp this year) and would love to go to Ben Nevis, Skye and other exciting places.

Equally happy to meet people just to go for a walk.

A bit more about me:

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. If pushed, I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are rather poor at best. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;
  • Road Cycling
  • Mountain Biking

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I am Mark and get out to walk most weekends. Sometimes during the week if time allows. I walk all over the UK and sometimes overseas. I am happy to do easy or hard walks, I just like being in the countryside. Recently I have been walking alone but prefer to walk with others who share an interest in the outdoors.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Inverness hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: A Yorkshire lass I'm enjoying making new memories and having new adventures here in the Highlands, wild swimming in lochs, walking in the mountains, exploring remote beaches and skiing.

I enjoy long distance walks and have started working my way through the Monroes, albeit very slowly!

Someone who could could help me improve my navigation skills to enable me to get up to some high level peaks (or show me the way up) would be great, also happy to have a wild swim afterwards would be even better!

I am a Male Walker, in my late 30s, based near South London hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi There, I'm looking to meet new people/friends to go on some nice walks or camping/kayaking adventures with in the UK or abroad. I live in London but grew up in the country and I'm struggling to find people that love the outdoors and escaping the city as much as I do, or that don't have other responsibilities. I am happy hiking all day or multi day hikes, I also love a bit of kayaking, bouldering, pretty much anything that burns a bit of energy and I am more than happy to drive wherever for a nice walk and chat. If you fancy a walk or a little adventure I would love to hear from you!

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Brighton hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: White male aged 66, 40 years walking experience, living in Sussex, fit and friendly seeks to meet an adventurous male or woman walking companion aged about 40+ for walking local and national trails together in the UK and in Europe. Any individual willing to explore the hidden and interesting bye ways of Britain, if warm sleep out during the summer and enjoy a few beers at the end of a days challenging walking, before England and Wales become so sanitized it will look like a theme park( see George Monbiot).

Probably suitable for someone living in London or the South-East but, but if practicable, I would not exclude other contacts from around the country. Most important is the love of the countryside, coastal paths and Highlands of Scotland, quiet places and friendly conversation.

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. I'm happy to walk in most weathers but do not like snow and ice. Sorry, but I really do not like walking with Dogs. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive but do not have access to a vehicle.

I am also interested in:

I am a Female Walker, in my early 40s, based near Loch Lomond, Scotland hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, I am interested in sociable walking. I have climbed a few Munros in the past and would like to again but am just happy being outdoors enjoying the sights and sounds. I have a mini dachshund who I like to take with me (most of the time in a backpack!). I live north of Glasgow but am happy to travel for a good walk. Would be nice to hear from others looking for similar!

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Penrith.

My Message: Hi, I am an experienced hill walker living near Penrith. I have walked in Europe, America and throughout the British Isles. My hill walking started in The Lakes and having recently moved into the National Park I am now renewing my memories of these iconic hills. My lifelong passion are the hills of Scotland having climbed over 250 Munros. That said, I enjoy walking in all wild areas and like to take time to appreciate the views and wildlife. A great day on the hill followed by a pub is my ideal day. If that appeals then please get in contact.
