I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Rotherham hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am looking to meet people who own boots and wellies and don't mind getting them covered in mud. I am happy to meet people of any age who shared a love of the outdoors and doesn't mind me stopping from time to time to take photographs.

The Peak District is on my doorstep, but have walked in areas including Wales, the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District, Assynt in Scotland. I have been up Ben Nevis, Snowdon, and Scafell Pike, but would happily walk there again.

I have done the three peaks in the Yorkshire Dales but over a couple of days.

I work full time in a college, but school holidays and weekends I am free. Evening walks are possible if they are local.

My level of fitness is good and improving, though that is a story to share during a walk.

I am a life member of English Heritage and the National Trust. As such I can visit such places with a guest. I love photography, history, wildlife etc. I would rather not talk about education or computing (Unless its for a good cause).

My walking aims are to look at amazing views, Camp in amazing places including a plot of land I can wild camp on in Scotland, and just enjoy it all.

If you are cold, wet, have been rained on all day and can still smile then anything is possible.

A bit more about me:

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. Even if I say so myself, I consider my map reading & navigation skills to be excellent. I can drive and have a car.

Worked as a Leader approved by WML. Started ML but Job in Outdoors came to an end.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;

I am a Male Walker, in my late 30s, based near Edinburgh hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hey, I live here in Edinburgh for some time now, I may be living here for another year, I always enjoyed a good walking with a company, I like to walk around Southern Scotland and Northern England trails and small peaks, looking for a Female or Male walking friend to explore the said region, preferably 1.5 to 4 hours walk will do, and I think it will be awesome if the loop or trail leads to a bar/pub to finish the walk with some drinks and fun.

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive but do not have access to a vehicle.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 70s, based near Devon hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I've done loads of walking overseas - recently in the Apuans and Appenines - and several long-distance paths (SW Coast Path, Pembrokeshire Coast Path, Tramontana in Majorca, Lycian Way in Turkey) and get out once or twice a week locally in Devon, and have had holidays in Lake District, Cairngorms, Brecon Beacons, Peak District, Cotswolds etc. etc.! I'm not really into bagging peaks but will gladly accompany someone who wants to. My ideal is a day out, walking up to 12 miles or so, with ascents (don't like the descents so much as it's hard on the old knees but if you go up......). I have found group walking not too good - I'm so used to walking on my own that I don't converse as much as others - but feel that, as I get older, a companion is a good idea!

I love walking in the Peak District, Lake District, the South West and am starting to explore Scotland. I've done some kayaking in the South West and would love to explore other coasts, lakes and rivers. I also love sailing. I would especially like to meet someone to share winter walking adventures on snow.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Gillingham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Paul and I started walking during the first Covid lockdown to improve my physical health and mental well-being.

I had also hoped it would reduce my waistline, but I like my food too much. Fitness has improved, but weight loss is still a work in progress. I have recently started indoor cycling as well to burn some more calories and wouldn't mind going for a bike ride either.

I've increased my walking distance over time and can now comfortably manage up to 10 miles a day and continuing to increase this further.

I've only walked around Kent so far and would like to walk further afield and see as much of the UK and beyond as possible. I'm self employed so pretty flexible when it comes to when I can walk and I drive, so travelling to meet up for walks is no problem.

I'm up for an adventure or challenge and equally like walking along the coast or in the countryside. Day walks, weekend walks, camping or backpacking are fine by me. Picnic stops to admire the views and visiting places of interest along the way, followed by a nice pub at the end of the day are some of my favourite things. I like most genres of music, have a wicked sense of humour and am very easy going.

If you would like some company on a walk or bike ride, please get in touch.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Rugby hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi! I'm Andy. Having recently taken early retirement I want to spend as much time as possible walking and exploring our beautiful country (and abroad, when we're allowed!), something I didn't have enough time to do when I was working. I often walk alone, but it would be good to have company sometimes, especially on trips further afield and multiday walks. I go walking midweek (Monday to Thursday) which might fit your schedule if you work shifts or at weekends.

A perfect walk for me is one where you can constantly look around in awe at fantastic scenery, so I tend to gravitate towards hillwalking, mountains and coasts. I am reasonably fit and may walk up to 13 miles in a day, but I always look at the quality of the walk rather than the length, so often walk shorter distances. A perfect walk should also have some food and a couple of beers built in, either during or afterwards (preferably both!)

My day-walking in the past few years has been in the Peak District and The Cotswolds, as they are fairly local to me, but with longer trips to Snowdonia and Scotland. However, I am a confident navigator and am looking forward to exploring other areas of the country. I am a fan of staying in nice pubs with rooms when away from home for a night or two.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Stansted hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, long distance point to point walking is my favourite type of walking although love a weekend in the lakes or similar. Ive just does the wainwrights Coast to Coast, and previously have walked the West Highland Way and the first part of the GR5 in the alps amongst others. I do have a dog and would like to walk a bit more with him as he can do long distances but so far haven't taken him on many trips so he can stay at home if thats a deal breaker. I am going to take a sabbatical from work next year and keen to pack plenty of walking in. Some more of the GR5 next summer is at the top of the list and then the Pembrokeshire way.
I am reasonably fit - happy to walk in all weathers (although wouldn't we all prefer a bit of sunshine and blue skies !) for up to 8 or so hours a day with a pub at the end ideally!

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Aberdeen hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I love heading to the hills or following a coastal path, I have a kayak and I'm not afraid to use it... in fact paddling a loch is so very therapeutic. Yes to camping in nature, mountain biking, photography, or climbing a hill for a brew I prefer being outside to in and all seasons.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near High Peak hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I've been walking mostly in the Peak District, where I live, and the Lake District recently. I've been ticking off Wainwrights and have only 8 to go and I've started on the Birketts. I'm a widower and retired so can walk midweek and have mostly been walking alone for a number of years. I'm very fit for my age and like longer mountain walks. I've also walked in France, Spain, Germany, Italy Greece and Turkey. I've even done a bit of sport climbing in the last few years - rock climbing was a passion many years ago. I've also rediscovered an interest in photography and have been a yoga practitioner for more than 30 years. My Message: Hi,
I'm Catherine, 42 from Preston. I have done quite a lot of walking, mainly in the Lakes and North Wales but other areas too.I would like to do more in Scotland. I have also done some treks abroad. I have previously walked a lot with my parents but they are getting past the long and high stuff now. Also I met a great walking partner on here about 10 years ago but she has moved abroad for work! I'm now struggling to get out walking as I don't want to go by myself. I love anything outdoors, pretty much any weather. I love camping and a good pint after a walk. I'm looking for people in 30's/40's who would like to go on day walks to begin with to see how we get on. Anyway, drop me a line if you'd like to make contact and get out walking. Thanks

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Cambridgeshire hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I live in Cambridgeshire and have a deep love for walking and hiking. The last long distance l did was Glen Affic in Scotland. However, l like short walks as much as long hikes and to enjoy my walk, stopping to take in the scenery and enjoying a good chat or just appreciating the silence together.
My schedule is quite free so l can do a mixture of week days and weekends. I also drive, so travelling is no problem.
By nature l am a bubbly, outgoing person with an introvert side. Looking to make some new female walking buddies. I look forward to hearing from you.

  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Lake District hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello!

Currently I'm on a mission to bag all of the Wainwrights. Did a lot of hiking in Europe and participating in races like the Harz Mountains 100km race when I was younger, and a lot fitter! I suppose I'm trying to make up for lost time as there was a time when walking to the pub was a challenge. No longer drink (but will have a 0% beer at the end of a long walk!), Vegan for 10 years. Mainly been doing low level walks in the peak district over the last few years along with Mam Tor, Edale, Kinder Scout etc but now concentrating on Wainwrights. I'm quite happy walking on my own most of the time but it would be good to walk in a group, or with other hikers who had a similar outlook on life. My ultimate aim is to be fitter at 60 than I was at 30!! So if you fancy joining me say hello :)

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Stafford hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I live in the Staffordshire area and would like to meet male and female walking partners to walk locally and explore more of the UK. I walk my dogs each evening after work and like to try new routes over the weekend. I enjoy walking in the Peak District over the weekends as that is doable in a day. I am keen to learn new walking routes and I am open to suggestions. I am reasonably fit and can do a bit of scrambling but am not a climber. My map and navigation skills are not good, so would welcome someone with these skills so we don't get hopelessly lost (currently relying on google maps). I am easy going and enjoy cafe's and country pubs as part of the walk. I also enjoy theatre, comedy, eating out and riding pillion.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:5:6:7:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; North East Scotland; Southern Scotland; North East England; North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; Wales; East Anglia; The Heart of England; South East England; South West England; Ulster (Uladh), Ireland Connacht, Ireland; Leinster (Laighin), Ireland; Munster (Am Mhumhain), Ireland;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I like walking with dogs and will bring my own. Sadly, my map reading & navigation skills are pretty hopeless. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Stroud hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I've been walking for the past 20 years. For a long time because of work commitments and raising my children I didn't have time for long distance walking, but now I have time and am keen to do as many as I can. I'm particularly keen to do the Beacon Way (Brecon Beacons), Coast to coast, and The Two moors way, to start....But I'm open to any long distance walks. I know the days are getting shorter but I'd love to get in a few long walks before the end of the year. If interested, male or female, please contact me. Many thanks Mary

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Birkdale hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I like to get out in the hills as often as possible but I don't go bagging Munros just to get back and tick it off a list.
I go to enjoy the beauty of our country and take my time and breath in fresh air.
I love Caledonia, the north west highlands to me are the most beautiful place on planet earth and I've traveled extensively.
I don't go climbing or in the snow and ice anymore as I have done in the past.
I don't mind it being cold and fresh though. I always go into the mountains fully prepared, map, compass, waterproofs etc. Just common sense things because anything can happen at any time.
I have done a lot of walking in Scotland but also enjoy the lakes, and the dales etc, doesn't have to be a long or high up walk, pleasurable and fun is what it's all about to me.
Would like to meet others to enjoy a good time out and about, not just on high peaks, any walk can be a good one, it's what you make of it. Finding a nice pub at the end is a bonus too.
I'm going up to the north west highlands from 15th June for two weeks and going to tackle Slioch, An Teallach, Stac Pollaidh, Suilven amongst others. Cape Wrath too.
Before that I hope to be up in the lakes most weekends depending on the weather.
