My Message: I now feel like I have more spare time to do the Wainwrights and Munroes. It would be great if someone would like to take up this challenge with me.

I live in the Midlands of England so someone local would be good but I would be pleased to meet up at the walk.

I was thinking of spending a couple of days in the Lakes District for the Wainwrights ie Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. For Scotland I think that I would need to go for about 5 - 7 days at a time.

I do not walk at a very fast pace.

My Message: Hi I am Ellen, widowed and live near Hinckley (Leicestershire) although Scotland is my native home. I am looking to make new friends and perhaps find someone special who has a similar outlook on life to me. I enjoy all sorts of walking and have just completed the West Highland Way climbing Ben Nevis as a finale. I have recently been trekking in Nepal in the Annapurna Range BUT I am equally happy exploring the hidden parts of the UK.

My other interests are running, keeping fit, gardening and most things involving the outdoor life. I also enjoy travel to far flung places.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 30s, based near Utrecht.

My Message: I'm a 31 year old from the Netherlands and though I travel further afield as well I've found myself returning to Scotland (Highland and Islands) time and again because it's so beautiful! My last hiking trip was to the Western Isles and on the way back we passed beautiful Rum.

Unfortunately, my hiking partner on that trip turned out to be not as fit as both of us had hoped/ expected and though we had a great trip he's not up for another summer hiking. So I'm now looking for someone who'd like to meet up for some hiking on the Isle of Rum in July 2012. I'm up for day hikes or longer overnight hikes (tent or bothy). I don't mind hiking up to 8 hours a day and love a little adventure. However, on longer hikes I do prefer sticking to valleys and passes between peaks rather than the peaks themselves. I'd love to do a smaller peak on a day where there's not a long distance to cover.

I'm Claire, 47 and reasonably fit living in North Hampshire and wanting to walk more, mainly in my localised area at weekends but also happy to go further afield with longer days. Local groups like Ramblers aren't really my thing as prefer a faster pace and smaller groups, one/two people, good conversation and have fun and fresh air. Currently walking about 8-10 miles but wanting to do more and explore new areas. Haven't read maps for years but happy to learn.

My Message: Hi All,

I'm Ross; I've been walking for some time now, and am posting this message for two reasons:

I'm interested in meeting a few new people (male or female, any ages - female prefered (;-)) but all welcome) in and around the North for more local walks (usually ending in a good pub!) and possibly further afield.

I'd also like to do the Three Peaks Challenge (or possibly the Yorkshire Three Peaks as a beginner option) this year but, one by one first - as it's quite a step up for me - and I don't just mean the 4411ft of Ben Nevis!

I want to do this as I'm now in my 30's, I want to push myself more and feel like I've achieved more with my life, so I'd like to meet a few people who feel the same - or equally people who just like those walks and would like to do them again, again all welcome.

as life is too short, I live near Buckingham, willing to travel, Have just come back from Scotland 720 miles on public transport that I wanted to try, Glasgow to Oban -Oban to Fort William then the Isle of Skye- then Inverness- then a lovely place Brora. Now you know !!!!

I'm Graham, new to this site, but thought i'd give it a go!
I'm 47, and a farmer, which keeps me fit, and contrary to popular belief, we do get time off!! I have a million hobbies, but walking, and especially up in the hills and mountains of this beautiful country of ours is my passion.
Do have some walking friends, but most would rather sit infront of a TV, so looking for more like minded people, with the same passion, who love being on top of the roof of the world :)
Have hill walked everywhere, but have recently discovered Snowdonia, which is strange, as it's been on my doorstep most of my life, and i'm in love hehe.

My Message: Hi, I'm a 54 year old female based near Farnham, looking for male/female company for more regular walking in Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex, Dorest. Local walking groups are rather large and I prefer more one to one conversation, probably a faster pace too. I tend to use pre planned walks as I'm not the best map reader - happy to learn from an expert though! Available to walk at least every other weekend, and occasionally in the week, especially during summer months while the evenings are lighter. I'm reasonably fit (Gym and cycle) and happy to walk 8-10 miles or more. Love walking holidays uk or abroad, walked Hadrian's Wall two years ago. I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Cardiff.

My Message: Hello out there, my name is Mike, I’m aged 56 and three quarters, have my own teeth and many original fittings. I’m looking for someone to share walks of all kinds but especially in the hills. I’ve been a walker for over 40 years and despite some dodgy knees and a slipped disc I can still manage a long day out, enjoy some light scrambling and I can use a map and compass. I usually walk solo but would enjoy some company now and again and at the end of the day perhaps a pie and a pint, or a cassoulet and claret, or a toastie and a cup of tea. Hopefully a walking partner will encourage me to get out more than I manage at the moment. I work full-time but can manage an occasional week day as well as weekends. I will be in the Lake District (staying near Patterdale) from 20-27 May and the Highlands (in Glen Nevis) from 10-17 June if anyone can manage it; short notice I know.

My Message: Hi I am Jules a single walker…
I live near Charnock Richard Services on the M6 (sounds lovely doesn’t it!!).

Like to do fairly strenuous walks but then happy to tootle sometimes (but my strenuous may be easy to someone else so who knows!!).
I like camping and weekends away. But I can only do every other weekend.

I am easy going and friendly (well like to think I am!!) and happy to walk in a group or with any individual. I often have a dog with me.

My Message: Hi, my name is Petra. I have a lively Springer Spaniel who needs his long walks every weekend (and shorter ones during the week). I work full time so weekends are when I can go out walking. I enjoy gentle walks (anything from about 4-8 miles) and can cope with a bit of a gradient. (I'm not a Muntro bagger!) It's also nice to have a wee picnic stop about half way and possibly a coffee stop as well!. I am looking for a like minded person who would like to join me walking at weekends. I don't mind travelling and staying in dog friendly B & B's or small hotels as that way you get to see more of the country. I also have my own tent with electric hook up etc for summer camping.
