I am a Female Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Devon.

My Message: Having recently lost my regular walking buddy to a new romance I am looking for a companion who is keen to share ' Days to remember'! I am lucky to have lots of friends locally who enjoy sharing the great outdoors but I am keen to find a special someone who will perhaps have time to walk more of the world with me. I do have some basic navigational skills which I am keen to develop alongside a trusted companion who would be happy to face those unexpected times of adversity together and find rays of sunshine in wet mountain days!
I generally love to be active and outdoors and am always curious to see what's around the corner. I am as happy walking to the end of the road on a moonlit night as I am to share a wet dog by an open fire or a view from a bivey bag bed on a mountain top!
I live near the Dartmoor national park but have walked in the Pyrenees, Scotland, Wales and the Lakes and would be happy sharing adventures around the UK and Europe although I might be persuaded to go further afield.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Liverpool.

My Message: I’m an enthusiastic lover of hiking, scrambling and more recently camping.
Looking for walking buddies (mainly female or a small group) to explore Snowdonia (all year round). Have done the Snowdon horseshoe twice and the following routes many times; Watkin Path, Miners’ Track, Pyg Track and the Llanberis Path. One of the best experiences was walking alone up Snowdon at night for sunrise and not encountering anyone on the way or on the summit. Sunrise - breathtaking! Well I tell a fib, I did encounter three people (very briefly) whilst on the summit (before sunrise) who appeared to be running up - all I could see was the beam of light from their headlamps. Reminded me of the woods scene in E. T. the movie. They asked me to take their photo as evidence - the last leg of their 3 Peak’s Challenge!! I do like challenges but more importantly for me it’s the beauty of Snowdonia that makes me return several times a year - I can never tire of the place!
Future spring/summer walks - Tryfan, Bristly Ridge and the Snowdon horseshoe (horseshoe also at night - only in excellent conditions on a clear night with moonlight).
Havn’t done any scrambling in Scotland but would love to do the Cuillin Ridge traverse and the An Teallach traverse.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Nr Glasgow.
My Message: Hi, I live near Glasgow and would like some company to explore new places walking and cycling. I like the chat but I am not keen on large walking groups so thought I would give this site a go. I am relatively fit and while I like the challenge of getting to the top for the views I also enjoy gentle walks and the relaxing well earned drink at the end of the day in a pub or a good tea room. I have done various walks in Scotland and the Lake district but useless at navigation relying on previous walking partners to make sure I got back home, another good reason I don't walk alone. So please get in touch if you also want some company, I work full time so only available at weekends.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Newcastle Upon Tyne.
My Message: I shall be taking my campervan and awning with inner tent to Scotland on Monday 28th September for a week. Plan to stay in the Loch Lomand / Loch Tay area to bag some new Munros. I am currently sitting on 49 and wish to get beyond the 50 mark on this trip! I'd be keen to hear if anyone would like to join me for some or all of the time for some great walking? Some company would be a bonus! I am based in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
I am a very keen walker ranging from level tea / pub stop walks to mountain bothying in Scotland and Munro bagging (only 30 odd so far). Life member of the YHA and Scotland Mountain Bothies member.
Kids have now left home and being self employed have a fairly flexible life.
Would be interested to hear from adventure seekers.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 20s, based near Ross-on-wye.

My Message: Hi there - my name's Alec and I'm 27yrs old. I currently live in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. I'm an avid outdoors guy looking to develop a new circle of friendship with like-minded individuals - very mature for my age. Happy to walk one-on-one or as part of a group. I'm very sociable and very much enjoy a good challenge.
I'm looking for somone to go hiking/trekking with all over the place - not going to restrict myself to one area. I like to 'get away' I must admit. Love to get out and explore and whilst I've not been camping for a while, would certainly do this with the right person/people. Happy to take on all sorts of hikes/treks - whether strenuous or moderate. Am open to travelling to meet etc and vice versa.
Am looking for mid-length / long-distance walks - 10 miles +. Am doing the Mountain Trail Challenge in Brecon Beacons on 12/09/15. Am also looking to do the 3 Peaks Challenge next year so need to increase fitness etc. Definitely enjoy good conversation and a drink at the end (or a cheeky pitstop) of a walk to socialise and get to know people better.
If you're interested in arranging something, please do get in touch. I'd love to hear from you. Cheers, Alec

I am a Male Walker, in my early 40s, based near Stockport.
My Message: I used to spend a lot of time walking in Snowdonia. Recently had a major health scare (Cardiac Arrest) and now looking at pastures closer to home (Peak District etc) to get me back into the walking way. I have lost my fitness and I have an ICD implant [shocking I know ;)]. Ideally looking to walk with someone on some easy walks at first. Someone who can understand my situation (not push me too hard to begin with) and my fears (probably only psychological). I used to be pretty fit and game for anything but need to be a bit careful for a while until I feel comfortable again. I have car.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 30s, based near Castle Douglas.

My Message: When I first moved to the UK from Canada, one of the things that I looked forward to most was walking in places where I didn't have to worry about bears or overly-aggressive deer! Seven years on, I've managed to climb Snowdon, bag a couple of Munros (including Ben Nevis), and been on several mid-length walks from places as varied as Unst in Shetland to the North Downs Way, but that's about it.
I would describe myself as a woman who is young at heart with a good sense of humour. I enjoy comedy, theatre, films, reading and history. I'm in decent shape, have two adorable rescued rotties (they're exceptionally friendly with people - but unfortunately have not been well socialised with other dogs), and am happy to travel to meet up for walks - or pitch in for petrol - as needed. I'm good at reading maps, but my compass using skills definitely need some work.
As I work full-time, walking is limited to weekends and (Scottish) school holidays. If you're interested in meeting up for a walk, please get in touch. [Nb: I'm interested in walking pretty much anywhere, but figure it's good to start close to home when you're just meeting up for the first few times!]

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Stockbridge.
My Message: Hello not much warning on this one. New to this site etc. Mullardoch Round Scotland see on web. I have time off between May 16-25 will be doing a cycle trek and ridge walk. I hope to use the bike to get into Glen Strathfarra and do Scurr Na Lapaich and others along the ridge and get back to the bike to get round to Glen Affric and climb Carn Eige and others along second ridge and get back to bike and complete the 80 - 90 mile loop. Sounds mad but have done the trek and ride seperately before. Very enjoyable with some great bothies and wild camps. This is very minimalist so not much clobber etc.
If anyone is interested please let me know and I would appreciate the company or small group. Please ask questions I would be glad to share on this type of thing by combining cycling and trekking.
Best regards Ian

I am a Male Walker, in my early 40s, based near Newcastle.
My Message: Hi I'm Dave, an active 43 yr old looking for walking/camping companions both male and female. I have been walking for quite a few years now, mainly in Northumberland, Lake District and Scotland. I am pretty well experienced and know my way around quite a few places. Working offshore gives me a lot off time off to venture off into the great outdoors, there's nothing better. I am very interested in trying out some wild camping, hoping to do it very soon in fact, so if anyone is looking for company give me a shout, I have never tried it but I am in the process of getting the kit together.
I am married with 2 children, my 8 yr old boy is already into Wainwright double figures, he often joins me and is great company on the fells.
I also enjoy cycling, running and would try most outdoor activities. If you are interested in joining me for a hike or a wild camp please get in touch.
Many thanks.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Stirling.
My Message: Hi, I'm looking for company, male or female, on walks locally or further afield, weekend breaks or walking holidays.
I enjoy hills and flat walks of any distance, also cycling (off road), and usually have a couple of dogs tagging along. Scrambling is always a challenge I'm up for, but not anything too scary, not keen on massive drops!
I'm keen to do more long distance, multi day walks, preferably with BandB or hostel/bunkhouse accommodation. I've done a few Explore walking holidays, which have been great fun, and I'd love to try some of the cycling holidays or self guided walks abroad.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Chulmleigh.
My Message: Hi folks,
I live in North Devon and I'm looking for someone - primarily - who would like to join me on Dartmoor for either day-walks or backpacking trips/wild camping, though fully prepared to go further afield.
I have a fair knowledge of Northern Dartmoor and am fully able to get lost there with the best of them!
I suppose I could call myself a Mountaineer. I've climbed and walked in the Himalayas, Caucusses, Pyrenees, North Africa and the Andes (they're at the end of your armies) and have been wandering around the UK mountains since childhood. I'm also an average mountain-biker (in that I fall off frequently). Quite keen on Via Feratta too.
I like to think that I'm relatively fit, and would be happy with walks of any distance.
Oh, and my name's John. If all this doesn't put you off nothing will!

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Aberdeen City.

My Message: Hello,
My names is James and I am a Scot. I live and work in Aberdeen.
Synopses of my out-door life:-
Been walking and hiking all over Scotland for the past years. I normally try and get away as much as possible, both winter and summer. I have a Camper-van that I take with me every-time I can get away.
My plans are usually structured in a pattern that involves getting to the location of the climb, park-up Hovis (camper-van) and start the climb. I normally try and ensure that the route will take in a night or two of - wild camping under a canvas - listening to a menacingly howling gale on the outside while quietly thinking (praying) "have I hammered my tent pegs in the ground well-enough to out-last the storm on the outside:) I also use Bothy's if they are on my route, and - hope when I stumble across one that there is stone fireplace inside, where I can try and get a fire up and running - and hopefully try and get the surrounding stone warm enough for some heat-retention that might last the night. I also try and structure a night in my plan to factor in a bunk-house and / or Youth-Hostel. After my climb I head back to my start position, pick up Hovis and head away to the next random location. I spent a few weeks last year in Skye doing exactly this, however-I still never achieve all my ambitions that this truly beautiful location has to offer. My plan this year 2015 is to go back and carry on where I left off.
The type of person that I enjoy spending my time with on this wonderful pursuit is a person that is:- full of life, and is not put off with some rough days of challenging Scottish weather. In addition to this, I would like to get some addition wild camping experience in with someone who also enjoys battling the elements.
I have various interests which range from Genetics to how the universe operates and the day to day challenge we have to overcome each day of this amazing world we all live in. I also enjoy the company of people who specialise in all aspects of things outdoors. Geology along with the basics of human Physiology also interest me.
So if you are up for cold weather, a night or two in my camper, the odd Bothy, bunkhouse and youth-hostel or sitting on top of the Cuillins watching the sun go down please let me know and we can perhaps arrange to share some truly amazing events that we receive as gifts from an entity we call nature. A force that shares - each and every day of this vast structure of our planet we all live on.
Motto:- There is no such thing as bad weather, only inadequate clothing :)
Thanks James.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Carlisle.
My Message: Hi, I am Simon a 55 year old male from Carlisle. I love the outdoors and the hills and mountains in particular. I live close to the Lakes which I adore, but my greatest passion is for the Scottish Highlands, in particular the far north west, with Skye and Torridon being my favourites. I have to confess to being a 'bagger. ' I also enjoy a good scramble. However, I enjoy shorter and less strenuous walks along glens and valleys and along beaches and headlands.
I am out in the Lakes regularly and go to the Highlands as often as I can. I have made a number of bothy and camping trips, as well as staying in hostels and B and B's. The odd foray to Snowdonia has usually met with bad weather, but I live in hope.
I am looking for a female who enjoys exploring the wild and beautiful mountainous areas of our islands, and shares my passion for reaching the top.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Near Blairgowrie.
My Message: Hi, I'm a 50 something! bloke that loves walking, we are not talking mountain climbing here, just nice easy to strenuous walks. I keep fairly fit and walk/cycle whenever I can. I used to take my dog with me everywhere, but sadly I lost my old faithful friend a couple of weeks ago, so if you have a dog that's great. I am self employed and can go out and about more or less whenever the urge takes me! I am looking for a female walking companion, because walking with somebody to chit chat to is a lot more fun. I am no orienteering expert and tend to rely on idiot guides, being an idiot I find them simple to follow!! I live in the blairgowrie area.
