I am a Male Walker, in my early 30s, based near Birmingham.

My Message: Hi all fellow walkers! I'm a 32 year old single male looking for male or female walkers and hiking buddies to explore the local region, notably the Peak District, Parts of Wales such as the Brecon Beacons or Snowdonia and the Lakes and Beyond in the Scottish Highlands. I'm reasonably fit and active, as I run or cycle often, and have done a touch of scrambling in Wales. I'm relatively new to it all, so by no means super experienced, but I'd love to share and learn from other walkers and individuals and go and explore what the great outdoors has to offer! I can navigate ( in basic terms!) and I own a trusty walking GPS along with all mapping paraphernalia. If you'd like to meet a fun, young, fit and open minded give-it-a-go walker who will attempt anything at least once (despite my fear of heights!) then I look forward to hearing from you!

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Ludlow.

My Message: Hello

My name is Terri

I'm new to this site and looking for new walking friends as most of my friends have now lost motivation. I am a life long walker and cannot imagine life without walking!

I live in lovely Ludlow and know the Shropshire Hills very well. I walk often in the Peak District, the Brecon Beacons and Wales all of which are within striking distance of here. I have family in France so also walk regularly in Europe particularly in the French and Spanish Pyrennees and next year have planned to do the camino from St. Jean de Luz.

I am no longer working full time but am nowhere near ready to slow down. This means I have time to travel and enjoy new walking opportunities as well as make new friends who like me, love the great outdoors.

Please contact me if you would like to walk with me either in the UK or Europe.

Bon Voyage!

Terri

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Llandrindod Wells.

My Message: There is nothing better than for me to be out walking in the hills and mountains of Wales (home now) or Scotland (home for 6 years until 2012) with my 2 spaniels. I would prefer to be out and about, joking and laughing with close friends rather than watching mind numbing TV on my own. I'm a Yorkshire lad, so any testing peak, anywhere in the UK or Europe, I would give it my best shot. There has to be some common sense prevailing when the location is chosen, so Wales, the Peak District, Cumbria, the South West would be easier to say yes to. Wild Camping, BandB, inns with good food and ale, I'm up for all of it, provided my dogs get to come too.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Whitehaven.

My Message: Now retired and living in the west of the Lake District I walk and cycle regularly and enjoy scrambling but would enjoy some company and that pint at the end with a hearty bar meal and lively conversation to round off a good day. I'm a non-smoker with a good sense of humour, very interested in wildlife, in particular otters and birds but also nature in general and landscape photography in particular. I have a campervan so get all over the country and to Scotland at least 4 times a year, the Isle of Skye being a favourite along with island hopping and Ardnamurchan whenever possible - Iím also trying to tick off more Munros - when the weather's good for views! I cycle, enjoy backpacking, have canoed and sailed in the past, Iíve skied many top French resorts over 35 years and enjoy a tough walk on the summits as much as a low level ramble stopping off to view waterfalls, a panorama or sunset or just to sit, reflect and share a magic moment in like-minded company. I particularly enjoy outdoor sketching in watercolour. If you fancy a ramble, a trek here or abroad, or a scramble, I hope to hear from you.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Worcestershire.

My Message: Hello, my name is Alex, I am a well spoken, well educated male, fit, slim, single, 55 year old, living in a beautiful, rural area of Worcestershire. I received an email a couple of years ago from a chum who was backpacking his way around New Zealand, and he was encouraging me to get off my bottom, see more of this island, and perhaps join a walking club.... so here I am!

In February 2016 I had a major operation, but all is well now thankfully. Initially, I would like to gently ease my way back into walking, until full fitness is restored. I regularly used to walk the Malvern Hills, all through the Cotswolds, and have done many, many miles in the West of Ireland when I lived there. I still want to walk my regular walks, but now I have a mind to cast my net wider, in search of some fresh challenges and experiences. My ideal companion who I would like to join me? Female, slim, bright, optimistic, good company, has a sense of direction (as my map reading ability is very rusty). Someone who would be happy to have a few well deserved drinks and a pub meal at the end of the day. I no longer have a dog, so if you do happen to have a four-legged friend who loves the outdoor life, and who of course loves me too, then even better. I have plenty of time on my hands, during the week and at weekends, and I drive, so if you are looking for some genial and intelligent company along the way, perhaps we should make a plan.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near South Lakes, Cumbria.

My Message: Hi, I am a straight single female looking for walking companions/buddies Female and Male, in their 30's/40's /50's -hopefully forming good friendships, and walking buddies, to have a good laugh and chat along the way. I act and look much younger than my years. I don't take life too seriously and have a very good sense of humour. I love nature/wildlife, photography, and to end the walk at a tearoom or pub.
My preferred area is the Lake District (as I live in the Lakes), and Yorkshire Dales, but I 'am open to walking other areas such as Snowdonia, Scotland, etc.
I am a fit and active person, always up for adventure, who enjoys walking the high Lake District Fells, including some scrambling, but I also enjoy walking the valleys or along the lakeshores.
I have recently taken up to indoor climbing too.
I love Scotland and have been to the Trossachs and the Isle of Skye and trekked some of the Cuillins and the Quiraing which gave me a taste to trek more Munro's.
I have completed all 214 Wainwrights and The Pennine Way.
I like to take in the scenery and photographs along my walks, not frogmarch straight to the top! I don't mind any length of walk, but on average a good walk of 8-15 miles or even more is fab!
I hope to hear from you.
Ps- Border Collies are my favourite breed of dog!

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Aberdeen.

My Message: Hi. i live in Aberdeenshire and walk regularly, mainly hills, forest tracks and beaches. Being now semi retired with more spare time i would like to walk some of the many walking ways which we have in this country. I am also keen to walk some of the longer stretches of beach. Walking alone means i always have to return to where i have parked, so with a companion and a second car longer walks would be possible. Im looking for walking buddies who are reasonably fit, male female or couple. I have just bought a camper van so am able and keen to travel. I am also also a life long naturist so if weather and location permit i prefer to walk nude. It is the most liberating and stress busting experience i know but please bear this in mind if replying. I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Camberley.

My Message: Hi, I am new to this website in March 2016. I am writing this message from Tromso in arctic Norway! Here with my wife, but she doesn't walk, so feeling sad that I don't have walking partners here. We have been visiting my daughter who runs a dog sledding company in arctic Sweden, where I have been saying I would like to walk on the Kungsledden ( Kings Way) one summer. So lots of potential trips to Norway/ Sweden/Finland. I have been an experienced hill walker and expeditioner e. g. Alps, Pyrenees, High Atlas plus all the UK wild areas. Now I am returning to my walking roots and would like to join with someone who loves good walking adventures!
Anything considered. I mean anything!! I am slowly getting walking fit and would welcome turning strangers into walking friends. Very happy with shorter routes especially if lots of height gained.
I have a Mountain Leadership Certificate from the 1970's, so a little rusty and worn!
My main interests are: East Africa, where I am a trustee of African Revival, an education and community NGO; school governing; and coaching and mentoring. What are yours?
Love to hear from you.
David Leeper

I walk between 6 and 10 miles most weekends, with shorter walks during the week.

I live in the Charnwood Forest area of Leicestershire, which has some beautiful countryside. I also enjoy walking in Wales and the Peak District, the Lakes District, Cornwall and Scotland. I also enjoy camping, bodyboarding, kayaking and other outdoor activities. I work full time during the week, but I'm willing to travel reasonable distance for weekend walks (North Wales, Peak District, etc), and further for weekends away/holidays/etc. I like to travel, so walking holidays abroad are also a possibility.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Devon.

My Message: Having recently lost my regular walking buddy to a new romance I am looking for a companion who is keen to share ' Days to remember'! I am lucky to have lots of friends locally who enjoy sharing the great outdoors but I am keen to find a special someone who will perhaps have time to walk more of the world with me. I do have some basic navigational skills which I am keen to develop alongside a trusted companion who would be happy to face those unexpected times of adversity together and find rays of sunshine in wet mountain days!
I generally love to be active and outdoors and am always curious to see what's around the corner. I am as happy walking to the end of the road on a moonlit night as I am to share a wet dog by an open fire or a view from a bivey bag bed on a mountain top!
I live near the Dartmoor national park but have walked in the Pyrenees, Scotland, Wales and the Lakes and would be happy sharing adventures around the UK and Europe although I might be persuaded to go further afield.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Liverpool.

My Message: Iím an enthusiastic lover of hiking, scrambling and more recently camping.

Looking for walking buddies (mainly female or a small group) to explore Snowdonia (all year round). Have done the Snowdon horseshoe twice and the following routes many times; Watkin Path, Minersí Track, Pyg Track and the Llanberis Path. One of the best experiences was walking alone up Snowdon at night for sunrise and not encountering anyone on the way or on the summit. Sunrise - breathtaking! Well I tell a fib, I did encounter three people (very briefly) whilst on the summit (before sunrise) who appeared to be running up - all I could see was the beam of light from their headlamps. Reminded me of the woods scene in E. T. the movie. They asked me to take their photo as evidence - the last leg of their 3 Peakís Challenge!! I do like challenges but more importantly for me itís the beauty of Snowdonia that makes me return several times a year - I can never tire of the place!

Future spring/summer walks - Tryfan, Bristly Ridge and the Snowdon horseshoe (horseshoe also at night - only in excellent conditions on a clear night with moonlight).

Havnít done any scrambling in Scotland but would love to do the Cuillin Ridge traverse and the An Teallach traverse.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Glasgow.

My Message: I am just getting back to walking again after a good few years bringing up my children. I don't really want to be in a large walking group so thought I'd try this site to find someone who I could go walking with and help remind me what I used to love so much. I would prefer someone who was quite experienced and knew what they were doing with maps and compasses as, although I'm not bad at map reading, I used to leave it to my ex partner. I always loved walking in Arran and have climbed a few munros in my time. I am available mostly at weekends and some weekdays during school holidays.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Nr Glasgow.

My Message: Hi, I live near Glasgow and would like some company to explore new places walking and cycling. I like the chat but I am not keen on large walking groups so thought I would give this site a go. I am relatively fit and while I like the challenge of getting to the top for the views I also enjoy gentle walks and the relaxing well earned drink at the end of the day in a pub or a good tea room. I have done various walks in Scotland and the Lake district but useless at navigation relying on previous walking partners to make sure I got back home, another good reason I don't walk alone. So please get in touch if you also want some company, I work full time so only available at weekends.

My Message: Hi, I'm Angus, an experienced hillwalker. Looking for some female company on the hills. Love the Lake District and currently trying to do all the Wainwrights... at a fairly leisurely rate it has to be said as I still have 150 something to go! But happy to walk elsewhere in the north of England and south of Scotland. Usually available midweek and the occasional weekend. I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Newcastle Upon Tyne.

My Message: I shall be taking my campervan and awning with inner tent to Scotland on Monday 28th September for a week. Plan to stay in the Loch Lomand / Loch Tay area to bag some new Munros. I am currently sitting on 49 and wish to get beyond the 50 mark on this trip! I'd be keen to hear if anyone would like to join me for some or all of the time for some great walking? Some company would be a bonus! I am based in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
I am a very keen walker ranging from level tea / pub stop walks to mountain bothying in Scotland and Munro bagging (only 30 odd so far). Life member of the YHA and Scotland Mountain Bothies member.
Kids have now left home and being self employed have a fairly flexible life.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 20s, based near Ross-on-wye.

My Message: Hi there - my name's Alec and I'm 27yrs old. I currently live in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. I'm an avid outdoors guy looking to develop a new circle of friendship with like-minded individuals - very mature for my age. Happy to walk one-on-one or as part of a group. I'm very sociable and very much enjoy a good challenge.
I'm looking for somone to go hiking/trekking with all over the place - not going to restrict myself to one area. I like to 'get away' I must admit. Love to get out and explore and whilst I've not been camping for a while, would certainly do this with the right person/people. Happy to take on all sorts of hikes/treks - whether strenuous or moderate. Am open to travelling to meet etc and vice versa.
Am looking for mid-length / long-distance walks - 10 miles +. Am doing the Mountain Trail Challenge in Brecon Beacons on 12/09/15. Am also looking to do the 3 Peaks Challenge next year so need to increase fitness etc. Definitely enjoy good conversation and a drink at the end (or a cheeky pitstop) of a walk to socialise and get to know people better.
If you're interested in arranging something, please do get in touch. I'd love to hear from you. Cheers, Alec

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near North Leeds.

My Message: I live in North Leeds. Not far from lovely countryside and near to the Dales. I am hoping to meet up with others who enjoy walking. There are numerous walking groups in my area. Large numbers of walkers attend the groups. I do not enjoy walking in an army of 70 or more walkers. I recently attended a walk with 83 people! So I am hoping to develop a cluster of local walking friends. My range from 5 - 10 miles. I work part time and available weekends or midweek. Look forward to hearing from you!
