I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Shrewsbury hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I mix and match my walks, so that can mean anything from a short river stroll to a long distance path,I'm planning to do the Great Glen Way soon(ish). I completed a month long walk in Spain earlier this year but that was quite an unusual one for me.
I also do short trips away walking (or mostly walking) several times a year where I based in one place, again camping. I'm only a couple of hours from the Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia.
A few years ago I rearranged my life so I now have a lot of flexibility in my life, the chances are that I cam fit in with your schedule.
It's not all walking, and in truth I'm not the hyperactive type, so do a some overseas travel which doesn't necessarily include strenuous hikes. Last tear I did a trip to Moroccan Sahara with a vehicle. Recently I booked the cheapest flight that I could find to India and then worked out some approximate travel plans around that.
As you may have noticed, I ticked the box to say that I am looking for walking friends but I would be happy if someone special came along. If you think you might be that someone special' then I'm happy to share a bit more about myself.
I hope to hear from you soon.

A bit more about me:
When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it.
With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs.
I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own.
Even if I say so myself, I consider my map reading & navigation skills to be excellent.
I can drive and have a car.
I am also interested in:
- Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
- Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
- Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
- Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;
I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Bishop Auckland hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi! I have enjoyed hill walking since my childhood - alongwith a sense of freedom, space and challenge it helps me refuel my inner strength to deal with anything during the working week.
I moved up to Bishop Auckland in 2010 because of my love of hill-walking. I walked the Pennine Way in 1986 and always enjoy revisiting bits of it. More recently I've completed the Dales Way, WHW, Great Glen Way, Dava Way,C2C,Offa's Dyke Path & Isaac's Tea Trail and hoped to complete Hadrian's Wall Path 2020 but didn't!!. In June 2021 I completed Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge in 11.5hrs for Alzheimer's Society (that's me on the right of the photo). I enjoy regular walking in the Lakes, Yorkshire Dales, Scottish Highlands, the Borders and Northumberland with a fantastic local fell walking club (which I help run) and am free many weekends and during the school holiday times.
My interests are all things musical and 20th Century painting. Looking forward to hearing from you. Happy 2022!! Andy

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Ludlow hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hello, I am looking for male/female walking friends. As I work all week it would mainly be for weekend walking, whether a day walk or an weekend away. If you are local to me then happy to do some evening walks in the week.
I would say I have a good level of fitness, map skills get me by (most of the time!).
I am happy on most terrains in any weather and any area at a pace to enjoy the surroundings. I like doing trails, either as a linear walk or doing in sections and making a circular walk.
In an ideal world it would be good to meet some walk mates to plan some trips for in the UK or overseas(open to ideas).
Would be great to hear from you.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Nottingham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I live close to the Peak District. I know it really well and love it, but equally love walking in Wales, The Lakes, Yorkshire, Northumbria and other parts too. I first got the walking bug whilst doing a charity walk in Snowdonia in 1998 (Crib Goch at 4 a.m.). I'm happy walking on hilltops and along valleys, canals, rivers and dales. I walk to chill and enjoy what's there and around me, not to race to the end. What would make my day complete though is some good company to share the views, some good conversation (serious or silly), laughter and after walk refreshments or a meal. I'm just into my 70's but am fit and younger in appearance and character. I can get along with most people of all ages. I generally like to walk between 5-15 miles I'm chilled, have a quick wit and great sense of humour. I drive and don't see anywhere on the mainland as too far. My other interests are landscape photography, art, city breaks and the theatre to mention a few but always happy to try something new. Chris

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Lincoln hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hi. I'm semi retired and live near Lincoln. I love the outdoors and love to spend my time walking, running and even gardening. Anything to be outside. I do most of my walking in the Peak District and some on the Lincolnshire Wolds. Im always happy to explore and have previously walked in the Lakes, Wales and Scotland.
My partner is not really interested in my love of walking and not that keen on the great outdoors. I do a lot of walking on my own but would enjoy some company, ideally someone who loves being outdoors like me and who doesn't mind a bit of weather. My work pattern varies so I can be free mid week and weekends too.
This year I've started to tick off the Wainwrights (34 so far this year) and I've taken the plunge and ordered a camper van which is hopefully here by the end of July.
I'd also like to do a few wild camps.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 80s, based near Linlithgowish hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi! Hope you are fit and curious.
I live twixt Edinburgh and Glasgow;the Forth and the Wallace monument are visible from the window of my snug 1 bed flat.
Born March 43, writer, reader, lifelong sportsman, still good for average walks. 6'2" 87kg.
N.B.I am just 80 not "early eighties". Like a 6 year old who is "6 and a half". It matters to me.
Full licence but no car.
The complex here boasts a cosy visitors' flat with twin beds which I can book for you at low cost.
There are fine local walks and a gateway to the rest of Scotland.
Animal lover; always had at least a dog till 2008.
Now I get my canine highs by pet sitting and having a pocketful of dog bickies. It leads to interesting encounters.
Walked Portuguese route of Camino in 2013. Would happily repeat.
'Twould be marvellous to walk with a female companion.
I play plenty of golf and follow sports, especially football but would willingly override that for some companionable walking.
Do make contact!
David

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Campbeltown, Kintyre hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hi. I've been mainly walking and occasionally wild camping on my own in Kintyre where I live. But I'm fairly fit, getting fitter, and I would like to do a lot more of that kind of thing all over Scotland mainly. I would prefer company, but haven't been able to find anyone, family, friends, or A.N.Other to do that with locally. My wife likes walking but would struggle with the camping.
Aside from being in Nature, my main passion is music. I'm a performing songwriter. Definitely NOT interested in "more" than walking and companionship. I'm not dependent on conversation, but I have a quirky sense of humour, and am interested in getting a handle on "things"..Life, The Universe, and Everything in between.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Edinburgh hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hi, I am Stephen. Looking for walking / camping companions who like to explore remote places in Scotland. I work full time but spend as much of my free time as possible walking/wild camping in the North / West of Scotland. Find it hard to organise / persuade family and friends! I am of a reasonable fitness and can just about cope with a map and compass. I am up for Corbetts / Munros but equally like nice costal day hikes. I am skilled camper, love finding remote camping spots (I know a few) and heading out for day walks 5-7 hours ideally. I love beautiful remote costal spots with wildlife but no crowds. Happy to take the lead with driving / camping. I would love to meet people that are as enthusiastic about it as me, for day hikes or a wild camp. I am pretty easy going, organised and a good companion.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Glasgow hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hi, I live in Glasgow, with my border collie Rannoch, not too far from Loch Lomond. I used to be a regular walker in my younger days and I'm looking to get back into the great outdoors but would prefer to do it with some company, so I am looking for new friends to go walking with.
In the past I did the West Highland Way three times, The Great Glen Way once. Nowadays I'm a lot slower but I find that a good thing as it means I'm out in the green stuff longer.
I'm easy going, enjoy new challenges, and always up for a laugh, life's too short to be too serious !!!
I like to play guitar, love nature, wildlife, taking photos, and enjoy the simple pleasures in life.
If you fancy some company on a walk please get in touch.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near West Malling hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hi everyone, I'm katherine and love walking as much as the rest of you. I would like to go walking and mountaineering with someone who is as passionate about the mountains as I am. Was hoping to go wild camping this year for a weekend in the summer so if you are up for that I'd love the company as I won't do on my own.
I've done a lot of the Lakes having spent all my holidays there. Recently completed Ben Nevis with my teenagers! Boy that was hard work but we achieved it. So basically that means we've done the 3 peaks and looking to attempt lots more this year.
I live in the Kent and regularly go cycling along the north downs. I walk reguarly but its so much better to have someone with you. If there happens to be a special person out there hey that's great, if not just making new friends would be fabulous too.
Looking forward to hearing from you

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Ribchester hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, Lesley here,
As well as day walking I love to combine walking with holidays and adventures, even if it's just a couple of days.
Last year I travelled to Jersey and walked the whole coastal path. Had a wonderful week in Wales walking around the Cadair Idris region. Went to Croatia to swim in the sea, visit nature reserve islands, cycle and walk. Walked the whole of the Camino Primitivo which starts in the Asturias mountains region of Northern Spain, through Galicia and ends in Santiago.
Also quite a few festivals and days camping and hiking in the Lake District.
I'm going back to Jersey this year taking my daughter and 3 yr old grandson. We went to Alpbach in Austria last summer. The only way I can get my family up a mountain is via a ski lift! Great fun though.
I've also planned a week walking on the Greek Island of Evia. So lots of space left for walking adventures as yet.
I've previously walked all the Lake District summits, extensively in Snowdonia and Scotland and in my own neck of the woods, The Forest of Bowland AONB. I potter around here most days when I'm free.
I love being outdoors and although I love sunshine I'll walk in any weather if the mood takes me. I particularly love coast and ridge walking however I can enjoy the peaceful beauty of rivers and woodlands at times.
I'm interested in wildlife and nature, family and friends, art and architecture, philosophy, yoga and music.
I gave up work as an advisory teacher 8 years ago to project manage a full property restoration and self build which is now complete but I doubt I'll ever be finished. I love adding areas! This year it's a gorgeous greenhouse and raised vegetable beds. I've got to grow the 'turnip tops' I lived on when I travelled through Spain on the Camino!
I'm fortunate to have time to explore and adventure.
Love to hear from you.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Shrewsbury, Shropshire hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hi Folks
I've recently rediscovered my love of hiking and camping after years of neglect - one small positive to come out of Covid....I'm looking for some walking buddies to help push, drag and cagole me back to where I was years ago!
I've had to cancel treks to Everest Base Camp twice due to different reasons - fancy trekking in Nepal?
Fairly relaxed about venue although Wales and Peak District closest and no real aspirations apart from EBC sometime. Only relevant hobbies are running (Coach with a running club) and photography. 🙂
Be nice to hear from you.
Best wishes
Glenn

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Exeter hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello!
I'm 60 and a self confessed walkaholic! It's really nice to think there are others who share my love of connecting with the natural world in a way that feeds the heart and soul. In recent years, I have done several long distance walks over 2-6 weeks. This is the way I most enjoy walking. It's good to have a destination but the journey and the lovely people you meet along the way are much more important to me. One of the reasons I love long distance walking is having the freedom to walk as long as it's enjoyable and safe rather than feeling I have to reach a particular point on the map each day. I generally walk about 10 miles a day depending on the terrain, and make it possible with a mix of wild and tame camping as well as the odd night in civilisation.
Over the last year, I haven't been for an adventure because I've had a beautiful Ukrainian family living with me. They now have their own home so I'm ready to walk again.🥾 Normally I walk alone and enjoy the peace and stillness that lone walking brings. I'm now beginning to think that it would be sensible to have a buddy to walk with. When I walk alone, I rarely get lost but when walking with friends, we frequently get lost because we're talking so much. :) Therefore I am hoping to find a confident map reader to walk with!
Quite recently I have been widowed and am now looking to embrace life and all the good things it has to offer. I work part time and my hours are flexible making it quite easy to go for a walk. I would love to hear from you if your love of walking in wild places resonates with mine.

My Message: Hi there, Lover of nature and my ideal day is a scenic walk and prefer an amble rather than fast pace ramble so can take it all in. Good map readers especially welcome as I was last in the queue when senses of direction were handed out! I'm free most weekends and sometimes mid week. If anyone local, early evening walks on the long days of spring/summer!

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Bushey hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: Hello, I'm David, I'm 64 and widowed. Life is for living and I'm not ready to just sit back in a comfortable armchair having spent a number of years bringing up a young family alone. I'm hoping to make new friends for adventures and challenges, both here in the UK and overseas. I want to grab life for myself and start exploring the great outdoors. I'm fit and love being outdoors in all weathers, either walking or running. There aren't many hills in Hertfordshire so I'm happy to travel, although I'm also interested in more local walks across fields, bridleways and canal footpaths, especially if there is the incentive of coffee and cake. I'm generally a novice walker although have previously walked in the Peak District, Yorkshire, The Lake District and Scotland. My kids say they have the local care home on speed dial so I'm hoping to be rescued.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 70s, based near North Yorkshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: I am passionate about the hills, wild places and like a challenge. I'm easy going and have a soh - semi-retired so can walk in the week as well as at week-ends. I usually walk with groups, friends or alone to practice navigation (which I am reasonable at). I am a reasonably fit 'plodder' and hillwalking is my main interest - its always better to share adventures with likeminded others. I moved to the Yorkshire dales five years ago and am enjoying having some great walking on the doorstep. I've walked extensively in Scotland, Lake District, North Wales and Europe. I'm seeking walking buddies who might be interested in doing long distance paths here or abroad and/or hillwalking in the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District, Northumberland or Scotland. I'm used to driving to walk locations.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near Wallasey hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Dave and I live on the Wirral and generally walk in North Wales, the Northern fells (Yorkshire & Cumbria) and Scotland. I completed the Munros a few years ago and am slowly working my way through some other hill lists. I head up to Scotland regularly and am keen on exploring the many Scottish islands.
Happy to do low level walks, but prefer to gain some height for the views and exercise. Fairly fit and like to keep a steady pace, stopping to look at the scenery and wildlife. I do a lot of driving so don't mind traveling to meet up for walks.
Retired so can walk on any day of the week especially if the weather is good, but do spend some time on other hobbies like DIY, cooking and rock climbing.
Good sense of direction and generally can navigate reliably.
Easy going with a sense of humour and enjoy conversation. Like to visit a pub afterwards for a drink. If you are interesting in joining me then please get in touch.

My Message: Hi my name is Roger and I live near the Western Brecon Beacons. When I'm on DofE I'll use my day van and stay on campsites, out of season I'll stay in a Youth Hostel or find an Air BnB near the area I'm exploring. In addition to walking I like visiting interesting places like National Trust properties and exploring different parts of the coast and countryside in the UK, Ireland and abroad. I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Bournemouth hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.
My Message: A bit about me; l'm a widow, single, adventurous, fit and happy.
I enjoy walking anywhere and would like to explore new areas. I have walked some of the SW coastal path and would like to do more of this. Also love walking in the countryside, be it just me and my spaniel, or with friends. It would be lovely to meet new friends to walk with and share conversation, a good yarn or a laugh, maybe a beer or coffee along the way.
Happy also to explore areas further afield, and willing to travel.
I live on the Dorset coast so also enjoy sea dips and kayaking and messing about on/by the water.
I have walked the Camino de Santiago and may return to walk sections again sometime. Open to suggestions for new adventures and fun.
If any of this sounds interesting do get in touch.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Basingstoke hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I now work part time so have plenty of time to go walking locally and nationally. I am friendly and reliable and like to chat on a walk.
I am looking for people who love walking and are looking for someone to join them. I would like to meet someone who is also interested in walking some of the long distance paths across the country. Sometimes we need a bit of motivation and encouragement and it is always better to have some company and support. Distance and speed are not that important. I equally enjoy local half day walks in the south of England to all day challenges in the mountains. But, it's always nice to end up in a country pub at the end of the day.
I am a reasonable map reader and whilst generally cautious by nature, I am fairly confident in the mountains. I have a car so can travel as necessary. I like to chat about about most things and it would be a bonus if you had a good sense of humour too.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near West Yorkshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi all,
I'm a late-forties male, and I would like to meet a new female walking partner and also friends either male or female. Time spent walking and enjoying our wonderful countryside just being outdoors is even better with the right person.
I enjoy all forms of walking, multi-day, long distance paths and less strenuous steady day walks too. Oddly enough my walks usually end at a nice country pub or two! Can't think why...There is nothing nicer than a lovely pub at the end of a great days walking.
I'm experienced at map reading and navigating and I enjoy the planning of walks on both traditional paper maps and also using GPS.
Sometimes I'll take a lightweight tent and camp and make it an outdoors weekend or stay in a B&B when exploring new areas.
My 'bread and butter' walking area is Yorkshire but I'm equally happy anywhere in the countryside.
I work part-time; so I've some availability on a weekday and also some weekends too. If you want a partner or friend to walk with who won't get you lost (I promise!) and has a good sense of humour, that could be me! Please do drop me a line..
