I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Nuneaton hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, my name is Dave and I have been walking for about 6 years. I walk locally about 4 times a week and go to the peak district and Snowdonia at weekends whenever possible. I am very fit and active and like to walk in any conditions. I love driving and am happy to travel. I work in the week so weekends would be the best time for an outing. I am looking for an easy going female walking partner to share memorable outdoor experiences with, either day hikes or weekend adventures. I am considered chilled out, good company with a great sense of humour and a wide range of conversation and a very good listener. I look forward to a relaxing meal and a drink at the end of a long day with a special person... maybe this could be you? If you like the sound of this kind of adventure and making memories, please get in touch

A bit more about me:

I love Scrambling & Edges - the more exposure the better. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I like walking with dogs and will bring my own. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

By putting my profile on here I am hoping to meet someone special.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Bath hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: In 2016 I almost did the John Muir Trail in California but couldn't complete it having fallen badly and damaged a knee. To do the JMT I had to do a lot of training mostly in Wales carrying weight. In 2018, I'm booked to do it again, starting my training shortly. I am looking for a partner(s) to join in some of the training with me who doesn't mind some wild camping and a bit of adventure. Unfortunately, none of my friends have the time to join me. I am experienced with the hills and mountains of the UK having climbed most major peaks in all weathers. Pretty good navigator and I am fit for my age but not a fast walker, more a speedy plodder. I love the outdoors and mountains especially. I mainly walk at weekends as I work but can stretch to long weekends. Just been hiking in the Bavarian Alps - lovely place. Thanks, Andrew

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Burntwood.

My Message: Hi Ive been a member of this site for sometime and am just returning to it from a long absence.
I particularly enjoy walking and camping in the Peak District and the Brecon Beacons.
I was in the military for a long time so enjoy all levels of gradient and am up for a challenge, most of the time.
I love to take my dogs with me when I walk although the border terrier (Laughing Gravy) is getting a little old now.
I'm out of the UK a lot and so finding friends to walk with can be difficult.
I hope that I can arrange meets with similar minded people for long mountainous walks and strolls.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Alfreton.

My Message: Hi fellow walkers, living in North East Derbyshire gives me easy access to the Peak District and Wales, Northumberland and the Lakes are 3-4 hours away and need a lot more exploration. The closer I am to water, the better. I am happy to walk 10-15miles (and have done 22 by accident, a longer story...), scrambling is not my forte (fear of heights...I know) but standing on top of a hill feels so good. Could you help me with my map reading? I don't get lost, I just find new places in unexpected ways and it may take a bit longer to get back home but those walks turn out to be the best. That's the adventurer in me. This adventurer has a tent in the car just in case, sets off for France without a fixed plan or goes out on the motorbike to see what's round the next corner. Once I sit down I read, write, play Scrabble and enjoy the views over the open countryside from the patio. Outdoors is a good place and I'd love to hear from you if you want to share it. I have joined a couple of walking groups and they are very welcoming but not all walks have to be with a bunch of people. If you want to join me solo or with the bunch please get in touch and let's see where it takes us.
Safe walking, Karen

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Nantwich.

My Message: Hi
I am 62,female and looking for walking companions or groups. My level of walking is up to about grades 7/8.
I am fit and fun, as well as able to go the distance. I walk at a steady pace with no forced marches or unseemly need to prove myself. Took up walking 3 years ago, so very amateur in maps etc. Want to get to know different parts of the Lakes and Snowdonia at weekends and even some weekdays. This year have done Annapurna base camp, toubkal Morocco, picos dos europas, and Everest base camp 2 weeks ago.Love the Himalayas. South America and others await.
Please contact me if you are interested.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Bourne.

My Message: Hi, Female walker looking to meet up with male/female kindred spirit. Reasonably experienced and fit I can walk week ends and midweek. Although the Peak district is nearest to me I am willing to travel to new walks in different areas. An inspiring, energetic hike, whether in the hills or following local footpaths with a packed lunch followed by a pub meal is a day well spent, and better shared. So if you're local or further a field and think we may get along, I look forward to hearing from you.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Kendal.

My Message: Hi there,
My name is Mark and I live in the south Lake District. I moved here just over 9 years ago from Nottingham after coming on holiday. I fell in love with the hills and the beautiful scenery and wanted to spend the rest of my life here.
I am a very keen walker and have climbed about half of the Wainwrights, Ben Nevis, Snowdon etc and a few in Austria.
I just love the outdoors in almost any weather conditions and I'm quite good at compass/map reading. I have walked alone quite a lot recently due to family issues and I would now like to share the mountains with other like minded people. It would be great to spend a day scaling a high peak then spending an afternoon with good food and good company.
Feel free to get in touch if this sounds good to you.
Thanks.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Chelmsford.

My Message: Hi, This summer I started walking the South West Coast Path (47 miles down, 583 to go!) I thoroughly enjoyed the walking and the beautiful scenery, and I'm hoping to complete a few more miles next year, but I need to develop my hill fitness... not easy to do whilst living in the flat lands of Essex! I'm looking for someone to tackle the hills with and, obviously, I'm going to have to travel, which isn't a problem. I'm not very tall so, despite going at a reasonable pace for me, I'm unable to match the stride length of anyone who prefers to march on at speed. I like to walk and talk, stop to take photos, and to marvel at the incredible views. Are you someone with good map-reading and navigational skills? Would you be happy to walk with me at my pace and understand that I'm actually walking pretty quickly for me? Do you enjoy a chat and a laugh? I work part-time so I'm available from Thursday to Monday and I'm keen to get out there as soon as possible. I love the sunshine and don't mind the cold (I walked in the Peak District in snowy November) but, I'm not so keen on rain - a bit of light drizzle is OK but if it's pouring down... I'd rather find a nice tearoom or pub. If you think you can share some hills with me, please get in touch. I'm also open to walks in counties and National Parks other than those listed. I look forward to hearing from you.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Winchester & Hove.

My Message: My name is Shelley, widow, originally from South Africa, last 18 years in Hampshire, but currently living/working (flexibly) in Hove & New Alresford. I'm looking for a slowish walking companion to do day walks and occasional longer, and build up my flagging fitness levels - been pretty slack over the past year in a very isolating and sedentary job. Not great on hills at the moment - unless we can stop to admire the scenery on the way up.

I work, but days/weeks/even months off are easy to arrange, as job is flexible, and have a car. I've clicked the counties around where I live for day walks but very happy to walk further afield.

Lighthearted, friendly, enjoy camping, gardening, reading, nature, novice birder, bit of a home body, care hugely about the planet and could be called a tree hugger. Favourite tipple - plenty of tea or one gin.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Marlow.

My Message: Hello, I am hoping to find male or female interested in joining me for the highest peaks in North Pennines, North Yorkshire Dales and Northumbria. I've been enjoying the hills for 20 plus years. It all started with a great crowd in Lancashire and Manchester. We met every month to do the Lakes or Wales and whilst living in Stockport I would try to get to the Lakes or Peak District at weekends too.
Now, living in the South of England, vertially on the Chiltern Way, the landscape is rambling and picturesque, but I miss the great times in the North. Hence I have set myself the challenge of climbing the HEWITTS (England to start with). 56 of 180 done so far. I tend to walk solo and drive North on a Friday to do an afternoon peak/s and then main peaks Saturday and Sunday.
For me the greatest challenge is Time as I have a family, work and getting away at weekends can prove tricky.
I'm happy to meet up with anyone in the local areas mentioned or drive up with you too. Even though my navigation is ok, I'd prefer someone with a good sense of direction!
Happy walking and may your waterproofs never fail :D Caroline

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Bovey Tracey.

My Message: I am a dog owner and like to go walking on Dartmoor and south Devon. My miniature schnauzer and Standard Poodle take me for a walk most days, but they don't have much to say. So I am looking for some company along the way. I don't rush along and am happy stop for coffee breaks and to enjoy the scenery. My dogs are very friendly and get along with most dogs, they much prefer to walk off the lead in the countryside or near the water.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Solihull.

My Message: I have just started walking and just love it. I have walked the Malverns a few times, Kinder Scout and some of the simpler trails around the Lake District. I would love to be a bit more adventurous and it would be great to find a walking partner. I am reasonably fit, but a novice at map reading! I do however have a good sense of direction which always helps me. Happy to walk weekends and during the week. Any takers?

My Message: Hi, I am an experienced hill walker living near Penrith. I have walked in Europe, America and throughout the British Isles. My hill walking started in The Lakes and having recently moved into the National Park I am now renewing my memories of these iconic hills. My lifelong passion are the hills of Scotland having climbed over 250 Munros. That said, I enjoy walking in all wild areas and like to take time to appreciate the views and wildlife. I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Aylesbury.

My Message: Hello,

I am retired and single with plenty of time to indulge my love of walking. I walk sometimes alone and sometimes with local walking groups. I would very much like to expand on that by finding a new friend or friends to walk with on a one to one basis. I live in Aylesbury so the Chilterns are on my doorstep but I am more than happy to try other areas. Recent walking holidays were in Wales and Yorkshire and I was born and raised near the Lake District.

I am more interested in spending time in the outdoors, stopping to enjoy the views and ending in a pub, than in ticking off particular challenges. A typical walk for me would be between 6 and 12 miles. More than that on a good day!

If that sounds good to you drop me a line and we can take it from there.

Brian
