I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Dorchester hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am a fit mid 50s male living in West Dorset. I am constantly active & and enjoy walking the beautiful local coastal & rural routes. Not into gruelling walks as I walk for a living but just want some female company to accompany me on SW Coast Path and other well known walks. Age not a problem, I have a variety of interests and most importantly I am a good listener & interested in other peoples' lives.I am easy to get on with and certainly not into 'competetive' walking. I get enough of that at work.

I have a partner whose health condition means she is fairly inactive across local terrain so purely looking for a walking companion/friend, nothing else. I have a wide range of interests, mainly horticulture, history, geography & fast motorbikes. I lead quite a busy life so would prefer to keep the walks to the Bridport/Dorchester/Weymouth areas.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Norwich hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, John here. Hoping to meet like-minded people/person to spend a few hours, or even a few days with.
I enjoy walking in any type of environment, followed by a beer or two after a good slog. I live in Norfolk (although a major change in my life is making me consider moving away, maybe you could convince me?) I have walked in most National Parks, and walked up a few mountains. My navigational skills are above average and I always plan the route before setting off. With some notice, I am able to reach for the walking boots almost anytime.
I am more than happy to teach navigation skills to anyone.
I have no walking ambitions, I just love to get out and enjoy the view. So, if you wish to spend a couple of hours, or longer with me, please let me know.

I love the outdoors, walking, hiking, climbing, kayaking, coasteering, gorge walking.....the list goes on!
I have a campervan that I have just converted and, as I'm self-employed, I am able to go anywhere, at any time (almost).
I am a senior member of the Army Cadet Force and, as such, have a good knowledge of navigation and am willing to teach anyone who wants to learn. I like to get away as much as I can.
Care to join me sometime? (Obviously when the 'rona has gone!!).

My Message: Hello,
I am interested in meeting male or female friends to go walking with, especially now the warmer weather is approaching (provided that this lockdown eventually ends). I am based in Lancashire however I can drive and have a car so I am willing to go further afield. I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Near Lands End hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Retired male just looking for some good easy going female company, for hikes along the South West Coast Path, and in other parts of the UK. I'm retired so travelling is not a problem. I would like to walk in Scotland, The Lakes, Wales and possibly Ireland at some point.
Obviously at the moment, the country is in virtual lockdown, due to the Corona Virus, as I write this 20/3/20 So I'm doing my best to follow the governments advice.
So for the time being it's going to be hikes away from the crowds on my own, and should I meet another hiker en-route then I'll resort to vaulting over the nearest hedge, to avoid contact ;)

So I'll carry on as the lone hiker, for the time being.

Good luck to all the hikers and walkers here, and to any NHS workers on this forum, God Bless you all.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Buxton hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Chris, from Manchester, now exiled in Buxton! Married happily for 30 years, and living with the wife and Jim the dog. Made redundant last year after some 25 years at IBM but have plans to get back to work eventually. For now, I'm enjoying my time off. We both (the wife and I) have a passion for the countryside, Scotland and the Peak District in particular. Unfortunately due to health issues my wife is now unable to do much walking - aside from pottering around the villages etc. While I'm certainly no major league trekker myself, I am fond of a brisk stroll around the hills and valleys of the peaks whenever I can, taking in the air, views and fascinating archaeological sites. Be nice to have someone to chat with along the way, so, I'm looking for someone, male/female, any age, in a similar position, who may be up for the occasional (none too arduous) stroll and fancies sharing their own favourite walks with another interested party? Weekdays or weekends, meet there, arrange pickup, whatever, I'm flexible on all that stuff. Drop me a line if interested, thanks.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near London hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I've always enjoyed walking - but I'm not what you'd call a 'serious walker'. I'm energetic and I can enjoy walking quite fast - or taking a more leisurely stroll. Presently I walk alone, but not far enough or adventurously enough, because my sense of direction and map reading skills are (regrettably) zero. I'd like to learn, though - and especially to share more general thoughts, ideas and reflections about all kinds of things with another walker - exploring your slant on life - and some laughter would be good, too. I'd appreciate advice about things I could buy that would improve my enjoyment of walking (I'm thinking especially of those long, spiked poles that look very impressive and I imagine they're pretty useful, but I don't know how to choose the right ones). Ending a walk at a pub or caf' may be pleasant occasionally; weekends would be good from my viewpoint. So - moving, talking, exchanging ideas and learning: that's what I'd like. Would that be good for you, too?

My Message: Hello to everyone, I've been a hill and mountain walker for many years now. In my early 60s, I am inclined to sit on a comfortable rock and watch the world go by. During a walk on a nice day. I backed packed round the world with a friend just a few years ago and would like to do it again in the not to distant future.

I would like to meet females for new adventures. I'm happy to do any grade of walk. From half a day on the flat to a couple of days backpacking in the hills. Camping B+Bs Pubs or Hotels, i don't mind. I can do weekdays and weekends. Tried the photo, says it was OK but it does not seem to have appeared!

Many thanks, hope to hear from you.

Few routes over the years. I have the most appalling sense of direction but I am

I also love having a good matter and a laugh. I am available most weekends and I could make Wednesday afternoons if it fits in with other walkers. I have travelled reasonably extensively and in my younger days climbed in various parts of the world. A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. Sadly, my map reading & navigation skills are pretty hopeless. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Mountain Biking
  • Skiing and/or Snowboarding

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Stoke On Trent hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I'm a recently retired 61 year old living in the Staffordshire Moorlands. I moved here when I retired as I enjoy walking in the Peak District so much but also enjoy walking in other areas. Location isn't too important as I am prepared to travel to meet for a walk.

I am fit and competent and enjoy a challenging walk or an easy walk and I like to take in the views whichever. I am open to any level of walk as it's sometimes good to just get out and it's always good to find a good pub or cafe at the end. As well as walking I also enjoy running and cycling although I can just enjoy being outdoors watching and listening. It's the simple things in life that appeal to me most.

As much as I enjoy the outdoors it is by no means everything to me. I enjoy listening to a lot of music having a very broad taste and especially like live music but not in big venues. I also enjoy cinema and theatre or just having a chat in a café or pub with friends.

It would be great to share the outdoors and other things with a like minded woman though I have a very inquisitive mind and I'd be more than happy to be introduced to new interests.

My boring details are I'm single with no children or any other ties. I'm 5'8" and slim/average build.

A bit more about me:

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Road Cycling
  • Running

By putting my profile on here I am hoping to meet someone special.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Southport hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I would love to hear from local walkers/hikers.

Hi, I'm a happy, independent woman. I'm slim and fit and intend to stay that way!. I love driving particularly on the continent and I am happy to travel in the UK in search of a good walk. I'm a keen walker with many other interests including travel (preferably off the beaten track). I recently visited Siberia and China and got the 'bug' for more far-flung places. I have walked in Southern France and Nothern Spain.
La Gomera, a couple of years ago, was a great location to walk/hike in. As was the beautiful island of Crete last year. However, there are still plenty of stunning places in our own country I have yet to explore. I particularly love walking in Snowdonia. I did Snowdon via Crib Goch a while ago and very much enjoyed that experience. Also the magestic,Tryfan is a favourite. But in my book, any walk, long or short hard or not so, in congenial company, is a walk well worth doing.

I would love to hear from male fellow walkers who enjoy the great outdoors, a laugh along the way and of course, well earned pint after!

Christine.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Crewe hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Greetings fellow walkers *waves*
I got into walking proper about 6 years ago and never looked back! I generally walk at the weekends unless I have time off work, when I'll fit in walks more frequently, and prefer the less well known walks, loving paths that aren't so obvious on the ground.
I go to the gym a couple of times a week and I'm pretty fit so I like a nicely paced walk but also stop to look back frequently (amazing how many people miss fantastic views by not doing this) and to take photographs … I like to blog about my walks if I find them particularly interesting. Not sure many people read the blog but I find it fun to do.
I walked the Sandstone Trail a couple of years ago … 3 days walking with a couple of sleep overs at pubs. That was fun and I'd like to do similar again, probably on sections of the Coast to Coast or the Welsh Coastal Path for starters.
I visit Wales and Cumbria at least once a year so plan walks for when I go. My most walked areas are the Snowdonia National Park, the Peak District and the Yorkshire Dales. Cheshire also has some nice walks and it's not quite as flat as people would have you believe!
Be warned, I do like to chat and I have a dry sense of humour … so I will either be fun to walk with or seriously annoying depending on your outlook!
Safe walking everybody.

P.S. For the avoidance of confusion seeing as I'm looking for male & female walking companions but open for relationships should the circumstances arise, I am heterosexual so sorry guys!

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Sheffield/barnsley hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I'm 63 and a regular walker. In the past I've been very fit (good standard marathon runner) but curtailed as we all get older. Prefer up to about 5 or 6 miles but nothing too strenuous. I love walking in my local area Barnsley/Sheffield and the Peak District but would be prepared to travel a little to walk with a companion in their area too. Love nothing better than starting and finishing at a good tea room. Don't mind mind decent pubs but definitely not a drinker. Love wildlife and occasionally look after the local hedgehog rescue to give the owners a chance of a break.I like local history and have a small Genealogy business. Enjoy historical walks. I recently left Royal Mail after 12 years so am now available almost any day.Simply love walking and the countryside.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Nottingham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi. I'm an easy-going romantic with a love of the countryside - high rugged areas, green and pleasant lands, peaceful valleys and windswept ridges. Not averse to a few home comforts, nice BandBs, concerts, cooking, camping if needs must. Working, but lots of spare weekdays and weekends, plenty of ideas of what I want to do more of - visits to the Highlands, Wales, and anywhere else that takes my fancy. It would be nice to share these good times with a like-minded, independent female. You will find me (I hope) considerate, good-humoured and honest.
Live near Nottingham but travelling not a problem.

My Message: Hi. I am 54 years old and from Manchester looking for a female walking partner. Love being outdoors and enjoy walking in the Lakes, Lancashire, Dales, Peak District and further afield. I walk all year round and in most weather. I have hiked a few Munros and would love to get some more climbed if you are up for that!
