I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Bridlington hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Based in Bridlington, East Yorkshire, I'm Looking for a female walking companion for leisurely walks locally (Brid/Scarborough) and also the Dales and Cumbria. An interest photography and acoustic guitar would be great.

I love badminton also and it's another great way to stay fit but of course I need a partner.

I'm 71, slim, 5' 6" and reasonably fit but I'm not the fastest on ascents. I've managed Blencathra, Langdale Pikes, Skiddaw, Scafell Pike and others. I'm a bit reserved until I get to know people - but I like a good laugh etc. Interests include singing, acoustic guitar, Badminton, photography and walking.

Give me a call if interested, thanks.

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Nottingham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I live South of the Peak District. I know it really well and love it, but equally love walking in Wales, The Lakes, Yorkshire, Northumbria and other parts too. I first got the walking bug whilst doing a charity walk in Snowdonia in 1998 (Crib Goch at 4 a.m.). I'm happy walking on hilltops and along valleys, canals, rivers and dales as well as mountain tops. I walk to chill and enjoy what's there, not to just race to the end, what would make my day complete though is some good company to share the views, some good conversation (serious or silly), laughter and after walk refreshments. I'm chilled, have a quick wit and great sense of humour. My other interests are landscape photography, art and the theatre. I'm vegan ( you don't have to be) and a good cook though do enjoy dining out too. If you enjoy your walking and are interested in joining me, get in touch.

Chris

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Ambleside hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I moved to The Lake District in February 2014, having spent the last 30 years living and working in London. My two children are in their mid 20's and in their first jobs after university. I started a B&B/self catering business here in Ambleside and I've climbed all the Wainwrights, in between getting the place upgraded and dealing with my guests. My interests extend to wildlife, the preservation of wild places, old mines and helping to train search dogs. I'm in the local mountain rescue team, occasionally work as a tour guide in The Lakes and enjoy live music of most genres. I try to spend time each summer working at music festivals, particularly Glastonbury, and plan to take up sailing again on one of the large lakes nearby. Chatting and good company in the high fells make for memorable and atmospheric days, so do please get in touch.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Wallasey hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Dave and I live on the Wirral and generally walk in North Wales, the Northern fells (Yorkshire & Cumbria) and Scotland. I completed the Munros a few years ago and am gradually working my way through some other hill lists. I head up to Scotland regularly and have a cottage near Torridon. Keen on exploring the many Scottish islands.

Happy to do low level walks, but prefer to gain some height for the views and exercise. Fairly fit and like to keep a steady pace, stopping to look at the scenery and wildlife. I do a lot of driving so don't mind travelling to meet up for walks.

Retired so can walk on any day of the week especially if the weather is good,but do spend some time on other hobbies like DIY, cooking and rock climbing.

Good sense of direction and generally can navigate reliably.
Easy going with a sense of humour and enjoy conversation. Like to visit a pub afterwards for a drink. If you are interesting in joining me then please get in touch.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Trowbridge hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm looking to meet other walkers to explore more of the countryside, villages and canal in Wiltshire/Somerset and hopefully venture further afield. I'm 59 and work part time. On days when I'm not sat at a desk I do a couple of fast miles around the neighbourhood and park and in very bad weather I do a couple of miles 'on the spot' indoors. I've recently enjoyed a walking holiday with women and dogs in South Wales and hope to do a lot more walking in the future just need some walking friends to do it all with. I'm happy with a casual 6-8 miles for but willing to go further. My dream walk would be to return to Yosemite national park. Please get in touch if you're interested in meeting up.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Barnoldswick hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm a keen walker, now retired so have more time to get out and about. I walk quite regularly with friends but as they are still working this is confined largely to weekends. We've enjoyed tackling many of the long distance paths over the years. I walk a lot on my own too or, until very recently, with my dog who has now sadly passed away, but would like to meet a like-minded walking buddy, preferably reasonably nearby. It would be good perhaps to share some Wainwright bagging or explore new areas more or less anywhere in the British Isles or even beyond. There are so many places I still want to see and it would be great to do so in good company. I'd love to hear from you.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near North Devon hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am looking to meet people to walk with mainly on Exmoor and Dartmoor but I would also be keen to visit other areas. I have done over 80 Munros including all of the ones on The Cullin but haven't been that way for a while and am a bit less fit now! I enjoy relaxed company (not a route march) to take in the surroundings with interesting happy people. I don't take myself too seriously and am up for new experiences and challenges. It is good to stop off at the odd pub however tea rooms seem to appeal more now as alcohol gives me migraines ☹️ however tea rooms tend not to have roaring fires so I struggle to decide!

I have two very friendly but bouncy dogs who I walk with but conversation is very limited! I struggle to find folk who want to go for long rambles over the moor but I just love being up there.

I am not working at present so am available weekdays and weekends, having worked all of my life it is nice to have a break.

Please get in touch if you want relaxed, friendly company for a walk but please do remember that I have got two very enthusiastic dogs so it would be better if you are a dog lover!

My Message: Hi, I am looking for a walking companion, it would be nice to share the adventures with someone else. I have done walking in the Yorkshire Dales, North Yorkshire Moors, Lake District and Scotland is always a favourite, but there is still plenty to see and do. Drop me line if you are interested or just wish to know more. Thanks for reading and hope to hear from you soon.

A bit more about me:

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I like walking with dogs and will bring my own. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Settle hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi,

I currently do 20-30 miles a week over about 4 or 5 walks on fairly straightforward terrain. I've other interests that keep me exercised and outdoors too but I'm very keen to meet a local walking partner....

.... one who might encourage me to try new walks and more challenging ones - and be happy to take a welcome break on the way or at the end.

So if you like walking on my side of the lakes, by national park, Bowland forest or Malhamdale please get in touch. Occasionally further afield is fine too. As I live in great walking country I seldom drive far to walk & prefer that.

I will walk up to 8 -10 miles but im happy with a 4- 6 mile - a lot depends on time or terrain. I like to set off in the dry when the views are sharp & be prepared for rain if I must.

I generally know my walking paths (& like to be near water ) - that's why im unused to map reading - but can if I must. I don't mind dogs if kept on a lead.

With Best wishes. Alyson

My Message: Hi. I am 54 years old and from Manchester looking for a female walking partner. Love being outdoors and enjoy walking in the Lakes, Lancashire, Dales, Peak District and further afield. I walk all year round and in most weather. I have hiked a few Munros and would love to get some more climbed if you are up for that! Just as happy to walk river banks, reservoirs etc. and like to finish the day in a country pub.

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Bridgend hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi,

I am a 59 year old male living near Bridgend. I am a keen walker and so enjoy the Great Outdoors. I am looking for a female walking partner who also admires the beauty of our wonderful countryside. I have walked extensively all over the UK and have been on a few European walking holidays too. I enjoy walking on all terrains and in all weathers as I like to be outdoors. I work part time and gig on the weekends with a duo. I teach guitar but have only a handful of students so am pretty flexible regarding walk availability. As to weekends I don't leave until 7pm to go on gigs so as long as we start in the morning it'll be fine. I have my own car and can meet where convenient. I do not drink or smoke and I enjoy the odd run during the week.

Regards,

Al

I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near Gloucester hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, my name is John. My friendly adopted walking companion is, at the moment, Bobby. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘ but with a little bit of good fortune he may also meet a new friend. We go for walks most days some short and some over 10 miles depending on other arrangements. Last few weeks we have been walking the Somerset levels. Where England's history began, and was inspired for the first time to write a poem to try and put into words my love for the outdoor life.
I would like to meet a new friend who has the same love for the great outdoors and enjoys walking and the country life for what it is rather than a route march. Sometimes, I pickup the litter as I go (get a life), πŸ˜‰ cut back the brambles if necessary, on stiles, (how boring), 😏 but don't make that either an objective, or boring. I'm up for almost anything. A couple of years ago I visited Annecy in France and went paragliding to get a different perspective of the mountains. Sadly my wife is disabled and is unable to join me and Bobby, but is into crafts so has no worries about me going off for long walks. If you would like to get to know us please drop me a line and perhaps we could meet up in a place of mutual convenience to have a coffee or beer, or a short stroll and an outdoor coffee or beer! Whatever suits😊
