I am a Female Walker, in my early 40s, based near Sheffield hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Lost my long term walking partner to a boyfriend, now I am looking for people/person to walk with. I previously loved walks in the Lakes or Snowdonia with a stayover at a pub and a beer. It would be fab to meet people to do things like that with. Also interested in challenges (did Everest Base Camp this year) and would love to go to Ben Nevis, Skye and other exciting places.

Equally happy to meet people just to go for a walk.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 3:4:5:6:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
Southern Scotland; North East England; North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; Wales;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. If pushed, I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are rather poor at best. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;
  • Road Cycling
  • Mountain Biking

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Northamptonshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, UPDATE - would anyone like to walk together up Ben Nevis on Monday 3rd September 2018? Very last minute idea. Would like to walk the tourist path. Not confident enough to tackle alone due to lack of navigation skills. Mountain forecast for Monday seems fine. Pls message me if interested!

Hello, I am single, currently living in the Northamptonshire area and would like to meet male or female walking partners to explore more of the UK. Have been a member of this site for a few years but returning to it after an absence. I am open to suggestions and able to travel.I have done a fair amount of walking in far flung places abroad and some here in the UK (Snowdon and Peak District), reasonably fit, can do a bit of scrambling but am not a climber. Am open to BandBs, hostels or possibly camping, though I am not an experienced camper and don't yet have equipment! My map and navigation skills are not good, so would welcome someone with these skills so we don't get hopelessly lost. I am easy going and enjoy cafe's/coffee shops and a country pub but am not a big drinker.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:5:6:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; Wales; East Anglia; The Heart of England; South West England;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. I'm happy to walk in most weathers but do not like snow and ice. Sorry, but I really do not like walking with Dogs. Sadly, my map reading & navigation skills are pretty hopeless. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Faversham hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, my name is Gavin and I'm looking to find new walking / camping friends to explore the outdoors near to me and to have the occasional adventure further afield. I'm a busy teacher and father but my wife and children aren't as keen on the longer distance walks, and especially the camping, that I like to do. I'm recovering from a back injury and walking is a good way for me to keep my fitness levels up, and as long as I can have the occasional lie down, I'm good to go. I recently did some solo walking and camping in the very north of Scotland and really want to go back, possibly to the Hebrides. Would love to meet a like minded person or a group to walk, chat, camp and, perhaps, plan the odd bigger adventure.

Dartmoor is my main stomping ground in rain or shine but enjoy walking anywhere. I would like to explore more of the South West coast path in the future.

I have mainly walked in South West England and South Wales but also north Wales, Scotland and overseas.
I can walk on weekends and some evenings. I have a good sense of direction and would be confident navigating us home if the fog came down.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Worksop hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, I am Bill, an active outdoor guy who likes walking, naturally, but enjoys most sports outdoors, biking, caravaning, kayaking but not white water anymore, been there done that. For winter days I also enjoy line dancing and with the right partner, ballroom dancing, although I'm a bit rusty these days. While quite happy walking in a group, I am a member of the Ramblers, it would be nice to walk and enjoy the company of a woman. Most Ramblers groups are couples which is fair enough. Though still working part time I can usually manage to get out and about any day, with a bit of forward planning so I look forward to meeting new friends soon.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Inverness hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: A Yorkshire lass I'm enjoying making new memories and having new adventures here in the Highlands, wild swimming in lochs, walking in the mountains, exploring remote beaches and skiing.

I enjoy long distance walks and have started working my way through the Monroes, albeit very slowly!

Someone who could could help me improve my navigation skills to enable me to get up to some high level peaks (or show me the way up) would be great, also happy to have a wild swim afterwards would be even better!

My Message: Hi I'm Sarah and I love walking. My main stomping ground being Dartmoor,and the coast path. I usually walk alone. I'm looking for someone to walk with, to venture into the more remote areas of Dartmoor with.
This year I've started walking long distance paths. Recently completing the west highland way. I fell in love with Scotland and can't wait to return. Would love to complete the tgo challenge but lack the skills and experience.
I love wild camping on Dartmoor but unfortunately at the moment work gets in the way of that.

My Message: Hi, I love to explore beautiful Northumberland and have a chat along the way. It would be great to go further afield too,the Lakes or Yorkshire for example. I don't have a car but am happy to share petrol costs.
I'd like to build up my level of fitness but more important to me is just enjoying a walk. And if there's a nice café or pub along the way, all to the good!

I don't work now so am potentially free on weekdays or at weekends.

Look forward to hearing from you, Alison :)

I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Beckfoot Near Silloth, Cumbria hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Kindred spirits who like the great outdoors have a laugh and can chat about anything and everything but shy doesn't bother me either. I really prefer the Lake District, have loved walking in it for years and can't get enough of it. I have walked everywhere in the Lakes but have also walked in Scotland and the Mourne mountains in N. Ireland. I can go walking on any day of the week at any time barring other appointments. I am 70 but still very fit, retired from first of all a career in the Navy where I served in submarines and after that a career in the police. I take my camera everywhere with me and put the pictures taken on my FB page for my friends home and abroad to enjoy. My Black Labrador Sweep goes everywhere with me, he is 12 now and slowing down but we all go there. I would be more than happy to answer any questions that anyone has and I will answer them honestly. I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Newbury hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi! I'm a fun-loving, adventurous guy living in Newbury, Berkshire. I'm happy walking alone, but it's so much more fun (and better conversation) with two so I'm looking for male or female friends to join me on walks locally (around Berks/Hants/Wilts) or further afield (anywhere really - from Cornwall to Scotland, Snowdonia to Norfolk).

I also enjoy scrambling (tho' not great with heights), cycling (more off-road than on), camping (wild or civilised), flying kites - I'm essentially very adaptable! I'm happy to explore any areas of the UK - the wilder the better - so if you're interested in joining me then please drop me a line.

ps: I love dogs and have my own, but he's not great with distances so tends to stay at home mostly, unless it's a short walk and my company likes dogs.

My Message: Hi There, I'm looking to meet new people/friends to go on some nice walks or camping/kayaking adventures with in the UK or abroad. I live in London but grew up in the country and I'm struggling to find people that love the outdoors and escaping the city as much as I do, or that don't have other responsibilities. I am happy hiking all day or multi day hikes, I also love a bit of kayaking, bouldering, pretty much anything that burns a bit of energy and I am more than happy to drive wherever for a nice walk and chat. I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Wellington hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Stu, 49, looking for friends to go walking with, and general socialising locally. Although I often walk on my own, it would be nice to meet like minded people who want to have enjoyable times out in the nicer parts of our country. Dartmoor is my favourite walking area locally, also very keen on the coast, The Quantocks, Exmoor, Cornwall. Further afield Snowdonia and Scotland. These are the places I know a bit, also happy to discover new places of course. I also enjoy my little adventures in my camper.
Preferably reasonably local, friendly and relaxed people who enjoy going out for a nice walk. Dogs welcome, distance depending on the terrain, the weather, what we feel like etc.
I'm self employed so can often be flexible.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Bristol.

My Message: Hello, I'd like to meet another walker who lives in Bristol where I live. I already have a great walking mate in the South West that I spend time with, and meeting up with someone very close to home would be good as well. I'm only interested in walking with women. Oh, but importantly, I don't own a car, so instead can travel by train and meet you if necessary. That seems to work out fine with my other walking mate. I don't do high energy marching type of walking, and anything over eight miles, would be a long walk for me.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Brighton hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: White male aged 66, 40 years walking experience, living in Sussex, fit and friendly seeks to meet an adventurous male or woman walking companion aged about 40+ for walking local and national trails together in the UK and in Europe. Any individual willing to explore the hidden and interesting bye ways of Britain, if warm sleep out during the summer and enjoy a few beers at the end of a days challenging walking, before England and Wales become so sanitized it will look like a theme park( see George Monbiot).

Probably suitable for someone living in London or the South-East but, but if practicable, I would not exclude other contacts from around the country. Most important is the love of the countryside, coastal paths and Highlands of Scotland, quiet places and friendly conversation.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Lichfield hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: 50 year old single, professional female looking for male/female friends to walk with. Not keen on walking in groups - prefer the company of just one or two others. Things just get straggly in groups don't they? I have dogs and am happy to walk with or without them. I also have a 15 year old human and am happy to walk with/without teen humans (mine is often reluctant but might be tempted if we find a like-minded companion). I have had quite a long spell of not walking following both an Achilles then back injury sustained in unrelated unfortunate events, so I'm pleased to be back in my boots! Have car and happy to lift-share or not. Saturdays are often marginally better for me than Sundays but that's not set in stone, or shorter after work walks in lighter evenings. Other interests include travel, cooking, good wine, reading, music (live and local, often folky or indie by preference), cinema. One day I'd like to begin having a go at a long distance walk or two, so if I find a companion who'd be up for that too it would be great - but not a dealbreaker if you only fancy one-day walks.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:5:6:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
The English Midlands; The Heart of England;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Chester Le Street hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Due to the loss of my long term walking partner I am looking for a like minded person or persons to walk with. I am available any day and have quite a lot of experience in Durham Northumberland and North Yorkshire. I am pretty good at navigating and have a list of walks most of which I have done some I have not. These are usually in the 7-10 mile range with different grades. I like to think I am easy going with a good sense of humour. Not averse to a pint at the end but not essential. I have my own transport. Look forward to hearing from you.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North East England; Yorkshire;

I really don't like Scrambling & Edges - they are defintely not for me. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. Even if I say so myself, I consider my map reading & navigation skills to be excellent. I can drive and have a car.

I am a Walk Leader for my Local Ramblers Group(s).

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Templecombe hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi. I'm a 51 year old female living in Henstridge Somerset and working nearby. I really enjoy walking and the great outdoors and although very happy with my own company it would be great to walk with others sometimes anything up to 20 miles. Although I'm single I'm not looking for anything more than walking companions. I'm pretty ok with map reading and although I own a compass I'm useless with it but would love to learn. Pub visits/lunches etc are always a plus - that's when my pace really quickens! I'm happy to drive anywhere and I'm free most weekends and during the lighter months evenings too. Lisa

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Fareham hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I live in Hampshire and would like to meet female walking partners to share walks both locally and other parts of the UK. My favorite walking areas are the south west, Lake District and the Cotswolds.

I work full time, so good walks are limited to weekends and holidays.

As well as walking the dog, I cycle to work and play squash, so I'm reasonably fit. I also enjoy music and reading.

I did the Peninine Way many years ago and the Coast to Coast a couple of years ago. I would like to do the West Highland Way in the next few yearsb but in the meantime I'm heading to Dartmoor and the Lake District for some nice day walking.

I haven't done much walking abroad, but I love walking anywhere with lovely countryside.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 30s, based near Staffordshire hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi. I am looking at meeting up with people who are keen to go walking. I don't drive and as such, that mostly limits me to the Peak District and the Lake District (and spending a couple of days (overnight in a hostel) is even better due to time constraints of public transport), but otherwise i can go anywhere. I consider myself reasonably fit and have some ability to read a map but it is not perfect! I get to where i want to go. I like challenging and adventurous walking, however it's not important to me that anyone else does; the company is important! I'm not super-experienced in hill-walking either; but i have done some.
Apart from that i am also looking to walk the Pennine Way (in it's entirety), maybe there is someone else interested in that too?

I am a Female Walker, in my early 40s, based near Loch Lomond, Scotland hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, I am interested in sociable walking. I have climbed a few Munros in the past and would like to again but am just happy being outdoors enjoying the sights and sounds. I have a mini dachshund who I like to take with me (most of the time in a backpack!). I live north of Glasgow but am happy to travel for a good walk. Would be nice to hear from others looking for similar!

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Heidelberg, Germany hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi,
My name is Barbara. I'm German and live in Germany. As a translator with English as my working language and an obligation to regularly brush up my English, I am looking for good company on a hiking holiday along the Cornwall coast during which I can enjoy 'serious' exposure to the English language. I am fairly fit but would consider about 10 miles to be a good and not too exhausting distance for a day's hike. As for the time of year, I am planning my holiday around late July, early August. The current idea is to spend about one week walking and then go on visiting friends in UK, but I am flexible on the number of days spent hiking. I am also flexible on the specific stretch of the Cornwall coastline.
About me: I'm in my early fifties and (obviously) like walking. I also run (moderately), practice yoga (passionately), love dogs (had a Labrador myself), have an interest and experience in music (used to sing and play the sax and regularly go to classical concerts including opera and Rock 'n Roll cover bands), I am interested in politics (of course also US/UK politics), history, fine arts, languages, have done somewhat travelling and go for good food and drinks and equally good conversations.

Really looking forward to get a response from out there.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Stone hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I enjoy walking in Staffordshire and Shropshire, evenings and weekends.
I prefer gentle strolls of between two and ten miles. Not too keen on the more route march style of walking.
I'm a keen photographer and like to stop occasionally to take photos of the views (only for a minute or so, not an hour setting up kit :-) )
I enjoy canal walks and I don't mind the rain as long as it's not torrential :-)
