A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive but do not have access to a vehicle.

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 70s, based near Hereford hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I am looking for a walking friend who may be retired like myself so that he or she is free to walk during the week as well as at weekends. I walk regularly with a number of groups but prefer to walk at my own pace so that I can stop, take photographs and admire views without being left half a mile behind.
Currently my walking tends to be in Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire, Powys, Monmouthshire, Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons. I really enjoy multi-day linear walking and have done the Pennine Way, Wainwright Coast to Coast, Offa's Dyke, West Highland Way, Cotswold Way and Worcestershire Way. This year I will be walking the Cleveland Way with a Derbyshire based friend.
Although my map reading skills are not brilliant I am proficient with satnavs and always carry a paper map and compass.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 3:4:5:6:7:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
Wales; The Heart of England;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

I really don't like Scrambling & Edges - they are defintely not for me. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. Sorry, but I really do not like walking with Dogs. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Birmingham hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I currently live in south Birmingham, and would like to walk more than I currently do - I spend far too much time sitting on the sofa just thinking about places I'd like to go to.

I'm only looking for friends, either for local walks or further away - I'm currently working my way through the Wainwrights and am half way through - so I'm particularly interested in fell walking friends.

I don't consider myself a particularly experienced or confident walker, but can read a map and feel happy to be out in the fells on my own - I do most of my walking alone at the moment.

I love nature and wildlife - and am often behind a camera when I'm not walking. I'm vegan, so perhaps not the right choice of walking partner if you're wanting to go for a Sunday roast afterwards, although I'm more than happy to have a post walk beer.

I'm a teacher, and it would be particularly good to meet others who are looking to walk in the holidays.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Thirsk hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello fellow walkers - I am looking for a female walking companion for leisurely walks in the countryside, around about about 6 miles or so in length, both in my home county of Yorkshire and further afield. I am not looking for a challenge but simply to enjoy the beauty of the countryside and the fresh air, with stops to admire the views and appreciate nature. Also enjoy coastal walks, rivers and canals. Tea and cake at a quaint teashop or even a pub meal would round off the day nicely. Definitely not a sporty individual, although I do enjoy swimming, I have varied interests including reading, the arts particularly theatre and cinema, crafts especially knitting, history and architecture, railways and vintage cars, travel both in the UK and abroad, animals especially cats. I have numerous walking books for my own area and have reasonable map reading skills. As I am now retired, I can walk on some weekdays, as well as on the weekend.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Matlock hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Adrian, single, retired, fit, and keen to meet an active fit female walking companion to explore our beautiful islands, and further afield. I have a camper van to tour and also to use as a mobile base for circular and linear walks, perhaps on long distance national trails. I enjoy all types of walks both short and full day walks and long distance. I have completed a number of classic long distance paths including The Pennine Way and Wainwrights Coast to Coast, but I'm not against doing these again if my companion wished to do them. Not so good on heights these days so I avoid walking on high level narrow ledges. I am a vegetarian who occasionally eats fish, non competitive nature, passionate about our natural world, fun loving, often quirky. Other interests include camping, cycling, casual nature walks, am NT and RSPB member, conservation volunteering, reading, eclectic taste in music, art cinema, theatre, the arts, wildlife gardening and DIY. Am politically a bit of a lefty. If any of this appeals, please get in touch.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Bourne/buxton hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, I'm Ian. I'm an experienced walker who enjoys walks of 8 miles and upwards. My girlfriend is unable to walk this far due to foot problems, so I am looking for a walking buddy for long walks as I enjoy a bit of companionship and chat as I go. I live in Lincolnshire but also have a house in Buxton and a caravan in Norfolk so am well placed for the Peak District, Norfolk and much of the Midlands. I like to walk at a good pace in all conditions and like to keep moving - I'm not much of a one for taking breathers! I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Saffron Walden hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Mid-40s professional bloke, fairly straight forward, looking for company for walks. I live in Essex, work in Cambridge and grew up in Northumbria. Happy to walk for a short walk round a park but i dream of treks across hills and moors.

After a life change last year, i have a bit more time in my life to do what i like to do which is being outdoors. I have re-freshed my camping and walking kit, and i'm getting some miles in. Looking for company, either locally for regular walks, or a bit further afield for longer ones.

PS i had a bicycle crash 6 months ago and broke a kneecap (ouch), i'm still building strength but i reckon i could handle up to 10 miles max now and further in 6 months time. (i'm a strider not a stroller)

My Message: I`m a 55 year old female (physically but mentally somewhat younger!) looking for a walking buddy in Herefordshire. I enjoy walks in the Black Mountains, Brecons, Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. At the moment I can only do weekends but after the end of March will have some weekdays free too. I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Cockermouth hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi!

I'm fairly new to Cumbria -having recently moved to the area - after many years ambition to do so! So, primarily looking for male/female friends 'into the outdoors' - mainly fell walking/scrambling and Munro bagging. In the main, I walk with my best friend and very fit ESS (English Springer Spaniel.) So, you must like dogs and be fit!

I now have all the Wainwrights 'in the bag' but require a bigger bag for the Munros with still over 184 to complete. This requires more travelling over the border and would prefer to do with an affable and experienced walking partner. HA! If you are up for that - good news!

I have recently started camping again - and would welcome the opportunity to wild camp.

I have travelled extensively and trekked in many parts of the world - but always the UK I return to - and love.

I'm not looking for a relationship per se - just friends to share my love of the outdoors, hopefully with a good line in chat, ability not to take things (themselves) too seriously and up for a bit of 'leg pulling!'Enjoying the craic!'

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Cambridge hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I consider myself a novice walker, though I'm pretty fit and completed a 100km charity walk over 24 hours. I prefer flat walking and gentle hills, which is fortunate as I'm based in East Anglia. I'm working so most of my free time is likely to be on weekends. I'm very keen to walk the Icknield Way, the Peddar's Way and the North Norfolk Coastal Path, along with any other trails in Norfolk, Suffolk or Cambridgeshire. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Buxton hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi there!
New Years Resolution - more walking! I like to get out at least one day of the weekend, for a full days walk if possible. My average walk is around 10 miles, but happy to go for less or more depending on season and conditions. Would like to do a distance path this summer, maybe the Anglesey Coastal Path or the Dales Way. Have previously walked the Great Glen Way and sections of the Coast to Coast and Peninne Way...lets see where the path takes us!

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Chipping hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi there

I live in the Ribble Valley/Trough of Bowland, and have some lovely country lane walks on the doorstep, from a quick 30 minute trot, to a few hours paw stretching

I love going up the Lakes, and it doesn't take a lot of persuasion to get me there

Whilst not a hardened hiker, I do love a good walk there, especially with the dangling carrot of lunch at The Swan at Newby Bridge or tea at The Cuckoo Brow at Far Sawrey

If there longer than a day, I normally stay over in Bowness, and have been know to enjoy the odd swift one, or a cocktail or two...

If you fancy joining me, then drop by and say hello...

Jonathan

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Aldershot hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi. My name is Viv, I am 50 and live in Aldershot, Hampshire. I am a photographer, a keen walker and hillwalker. I am looking for a lady to join me on some adventures. I have done a little bit of mountaineering (with a good friend who is a trained mountain guide) in Switzerland and in Snowdonia - I am very new to that. I have walked for years though in Snowdonia, The Lakes, Isle of Skye, and locally where I live near Surrey. I do not have navigation skills so looking for a lady to join me who does and is willing to go on some walking and photography adventures into the wild. I love Snowdonia and have been to the summit twice now with other attempts. I'm not the fittest person but very determined and willing to push myself.
I am a very friendly and happy go lucky person, I am also a busy mum, wife, photographer and therapist too - so walking helps me unwind and refresh.
Please do contact me if you live in or near NE Hampshire and would like to link up and go on some walking adventures.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Liversedge hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, Fit 71 year old retired male, I like to keep fit by cycling and walking. I walk most weeks and generally do about 10 miles, but if I am in the Dales I am happy to do 15 or so, especially if there is a nice pint at the end of it.

I love organising walks so please get in touch if you would like to join me.

I live in West Yorks so I am quite central and would be happy to travel anywhere in the North.

My main hobbies apart from walking are guitar, cycling, gardening and grandchildren.

Looking for anyone/group that shares my interest or who just loves walking. I also use Strava to record walks and rides and would be happy to follow your activities and you are welcome to follow mine.

I will respond to all emails, so please get in touch if you are interested.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 40s, based near Sheffield hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Lost my long term walking partner to a boyfriend, now I am looking for people/person to walk with. I previously loved walks in the Lakes or Snowdonia with a stayover at a pub and a beer. It would be fab to meet people to do things like that with. Also interested in challenges (did Everest Base Camp this year) and would love to go to Ben Nevis, Skye and other exciting places.

Equally happy to meet people just to go for a walk.

A bit more about me:

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. If pushed, I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are rather poor at best. I can drive and have a car.
