Caroline Winter walked up on July 16th, 2025 [from/via/route] Whinlatter visitor centre, track above, Whinlatter top, Brown How [with] Solo [weather] Very warm - Great views over Newlands from shelter on top. Error in not taking left turn through woodland, so took me sometime to figure out correct route.

James Hughes climbed it on June 11th, 2025 [from/via/route] c183 Lord's Seat & Graystones from Whinlatter Forest [weather] Warm sunny day - Walk from Whinlatter Forest car park (expensive). Difficult working out tracks up towards Barf & ended up going to Lord's Seat first, which involved out & back to Barf. Fairly easy ascent across to Broom Fell. Short steep climb up to Graystones & steep descent to halfway path into forest. Wound way up to Whinlatter, but route not clear. Involved steep ascent on trods to find ridge path - not great. Path continues to forest fence then back to start. Pint at Coledale Inn - Force Crag.

Clare Tait scaled on August 13th, 2023 [from/via/route] Parked in Whinlatter visitor centre (lovely & well stocked with great food). Walked through the forest & out onto open fellside. A nice easy walk with much ascent completed in the car. [with] Charlie [weather] Cloud & damp. - Our no 88 Wainwright.

Geoff Hand walked up on July 13th, 2023 [from/via/route] WalkC183. Lords Seat & Greystones from Whinlatter Forrest Park. Set out from Whinlatter Forest Park via Combe Beck & Beckstone Plantation & then popped out onto the hill & upto Barf. From here we followed the ridge onto Lord's seat. We stopped & had a coffee & a protein bar. Tess had a chewy sick & then onto Broom Fell. Nice run across the moor.See below [with] Tess (Jack Russell) [weather] Windy day with high cloud & sunny intervals. - We dropped down from Broom & then climbed upto Greystones, skipping over a couple of other bumps on the way. Down a very steep decent to the forest & then upto Brown How. finnished the walk over Whinlatter & down to the forest Park. Nice Cake!

Richard Fulcher bagged it on November 27th, 2022 [from/via/route] Parked near the top of Whinlatter Pass on the side of the road. Walked back up the road about 150 yards before branching left up through one of the forest tracks. At the Gruffulo crossroads we turned sharp left & followed the track to a gate. Here we turned sharp right & climbed up to Whinlatter Top (East peak). We followed the path from here across to Brown How (West peak) where we sat in the wind shelter & had our sandwiches. We returned by the same path & diverted in the forest for a bit of variety & a cup of tea in the crowded cafe. [with] Jen [weather] Cold, wind gusting to 30 mph, a little rain & even less sunshine! Some great light for photography though! - A great ramble for a Sunday afternoon.

Christine Shepherd hiked it on June 2nd, 2010 [from/via/route] Walked from Whinlatter Forest park [with] On my own [weather] Hot & sunny - I just had time to bag this peak before going home after a great few days peak bagging. This was my 200th Wainwright. Climbed again on 12.06.21 using c183.Climbed again just up & down from the visitors centre on 12.11.22.

Richard Marchant walked up on April 27th, 2022 [from/via/route] Parked at Scawgill Bridge & went straight up Graystones & continued North to Ling Fell. From here I dropped down in to Eskin & up on to Sale Fell then returned Southwards to Old Scales Farm & worked my way up on to Broom. Traversed to Lord's seat & a quick out & back to Barf. From here I went around Ullister Hill & up on to Whinlatter Top on to Brown How & back down to the car. [with] On my Own [weather] Dry Day with Hazy views early doors although it did become sunny & clear in the afternoon, but stayed cold all day.

Iain Jones bagged it on May 25th, 2021 [from/via/route] Whinlatter Forest Park (Trail Run).

Kate Peacock hiked it on May 1st, 2021 [from/via/route] From Whinlatter [with] Sheila & Skye [weather] Decent weather for most of the walk. Mainly sunny with some cloud, avoided the rain & little wind. - First walk back after the winter & lockdowns & it felt good. We did Whinlatter summit & Whinlatter Top in case we had the wrong one. Great morning.

Lovely walk.

[weather] Hot sunny day. - Took route from the visitor centre at the same place as the walking trails. Followed easy directions from Whinlatter staff. Visited Whinlatter Top (525m) first then onto Brown How (517m) over slightly boggy ground. Fantastic views throughout. Reversed route back to the visitor's centre. Time took about 2hours.

Dave Eyes walked up on July 9th, 2019 [from/via/route] Parked at Whinlatter visitor centre & walked to the summit of Whinlatter brown how then back through the forest to Barf [with] Christine Eyes [weather] Warm day - very over cast with low cloud. Drizzle in the air.

Chris Kent climbed it on June 21st, 2019 [from/via/route] Parked at the roadside beside Loweswater Lake, walked up to Darling fell, a bit of a scramble, then along the ridge to Low Fell. The view of the valley was very nice as was the ridge opposite Loweswater. Then across the tops to Fellbarrow before descending down to the Youth Hostel & back along the road. [with] Gary (brother) [weather] Windy, showery & chilling
