At top of gill bearing right following path to Dry Cove Bottom & to Birk Fell & then the Hawse. Steep undefined path leads to top. Had to assist Mya my faithful Patterdale (15 on 24th June, tomorrow!) up some of the steeper parts leading to top of Wetherlam. Intention was to retrace steps but thought it a bit steep for dog so followed path to Lower Hows & picked up Hale Rake path returning to car. Had a quick dip in a pool at top of Tilberthwaite Gill to cool off, joined by May of course. Strava said 6.05miles, 2,204ft of elevation in 3hrs 4m of walking time taking 4hr 16m. [with] With Mya my faithful 14 year old Patterdale Terrier. [weather] Very hot & sunny.
