Neil Bennett climbed Ullock Pike on July 5th, 2023 [from/via/route] Climbed the ridge linking Ullock Pike, Long Side & Carl Side. Our starting point was the car park at the Old Saw Mill Tearooms. A steady ascent through the woods behind the Ravenstone Hotel before gaining the ridge. Our descent took us past the white stones towards Dodd before winding through the forest tracks back to the car park. [with] Pam Bennett, Oliver Bennett, Thomas Bennett. [weather] Overcast to begin with, brightening up later.

Tough work getting up Ullock Pike, but once that was done the rest was pretty straightforward.

We managed to scramble & follow the higher small path which people have started to make. Little scary

Back down to White Stones & across to Dodd. Returned down the forestry track in Longside Wood. [with] Jen [weather] Clear blue sky day, cold (-1) but with light winds. - Does Longside Edge really qualify as a Wainwright?

This was a very special day as I saw several brocken spectres on the way up this fell.

Did not proceed to point 2 on the suggested route but instead took short cut as shown on the diagram. Rest of the route was followed rigidly. Arrived back at the hotel at 1320hrs. Thoroughly enjoyable day. Other walkers present also making the most of the weather.

A fantastic day out with my Mum, awesome views & my first ascent of Skiddaw with many more that followed. A lovely memory for me. [with] Mum & Dad [weather] A fine day with not wind wall to wall sunshine - The ascent of Skiddaw was taken during a weeks holiday in the Lakes with Mum & my Dad although I just went out walking up the mountains with my Mum as my Dad was not fit enough to join us. We stopped at a self catering cottage at Dockray. Probably the last holiday I had away from Dorset with my Mum & Dad,
