Kevan Cassley bagged Steel Fell (Dead Pike) on August 16th, 2020 [from/via/route] Steel Fell, Calf Crag, Gibson Knott & Helm Crag from Grasmere [with] wife Amanda & daughter India plus dog Bentley [weather] Mainly dry but some rain & heavy showers, visibility good - Bad start as my boot soles decided to detach themselves after 1 mile in whilst still on road, decided to carry on. Herdwick socks rubbed bad on my heal resulting in bad skinned heel, sock removed now in flip-flop boots & no sock & it started raining heavily (not great!). Sun was out most of time & a very enjoyable route apart from kit lit issues (new boots & socks now purchased!)
