After one & a half hours managed to get off & abandoned Cold Pike to return to car.

Views all round were wonderful. Down to Red Tarn, funny thing met three Brummies who were lost, they thought Red Tarn was Styhead Tarn on the way to Scafell, turned the map over & told them where they were - they fell about laughing.
