Other walkers who hiked, climbed, bagged and summited High Tove Fellow go4awalkers who have already walked, climbed, summited & bagged High Tove

Dan Collins walked up High Tove on July 30th, 2023 [from/via/route] As part of c318 walk [with] Family (just the lads) [weather] Overcast & rainy - Very boggy & marshy on the top ridge. My right leg vanished into a bog at one point, much to the amusement of the kids. Descent from Raven crag is steep, & generally the main part of the walk was hard to navigate with limited pathways (I assume partly based on the extent of rain recently)

Geoff Hand climbed High Tove on July 7th, 2023 [from/via/route] Nipped out to Watendlath on Friday afternoon & climbed up to High Tove, Armboth fell & back down to the farm very nice. Exciting drive to Watendlath. Must be one of the most remote NT spots around. Good to pick thse up after missing them earlier in the year. [weather] Warm muggy day.

Charlotte Hewson bagged High Tove on June 3rd, 2023 [from/via/route] The base of raven cragg, Thirlmere, along the lake [with] Rosie [weather] Sunny! - Quick paddle in Thirlmere after

Christine Shepherd hiked High Tove on October 4th, 2009 [from/via/route] Used walk c318 from Armboth [with] On my own [weather] Clear but wet underfoot - I had some wonderful long distance views on this walk to distract me from the decidedly boggy conditions underfoot. Climbed again on 23.9.19 & 25.9.19 while bagging Bell Crags. Repeated walk c318 21-04-2021. Climbed again on 03.12.2022. Fantastic views all day.

Ian Ashton summited High Tove on August 27th, 2022 [with] Jph [weather] Sunny

Tony Halliday conquered High Tove on March 26th, 2022 [from/via/route] Circular walk starting at castlerig farm camp site where we stayed did this wainwright as part of a 13 mile loop starting with Wella crag to bleaberry fell high seat high tove armbroth fell & raven crag [with] My boarder terrier jimmy boo and George also my wife sal [weather] The weather was warm dry sunny & clear 17 degrees - Nice circular roughly 13 miles great views over Keswick & surrounding fells ended with raven crag tough steep climb from thirlmere but great t views

Claire Rigg scaled High Tove on January 30th, 2022 [with] Heidi [weather] Sunny

David Hughes walked up High Tove on November 9th, 2021 [from/via/route] Thirlmere walk with DG [with] DG [weather] raining with wet conditions

Tim Winn climbed High Tove on October 1st, 2021 [from/via/route] Armboth [with] Barry, Roger, Paul, Andy and Dave [weather] Mixed

Richard Marchant bagged High Tove on September 7th, 2021 [from/via/route] Route taken as per map C318, I Started from Armboth car park & then walked through Fishercrag Plantation up on to Armboth Fell then traversed across to High Tove followed by High Seat where I had a spot of lunch then proceeded on to Bleaberry after which I back tracked & made my back down south of Iron Crag & picked up a forest track which led me to a path coming off to ascend Raven Crag. Last one for the day so it was back down the path to the road on the West side of Thirlmere & that was followed back to the car park. [with] Just myself [weather] Dry & fine weather. - Another simply awesome morning out in the Lakes

Paul Macey hiked High Tove on August 14th, 2021 [from/via/route] C318 [weather] Sunny intervals

Clare Tait summited High Tove on July 27th, 2021 [from/via/route] From Armboth car park taking in High Tove, High Seat, Bleaberry Fell & Raven Crag [with] Charlie [weather] Warm, overcast. Some gaps in the cloud. - No 65- 69 Wainwrights & will log all together. As the weather had remained warm there was no issue with bog! Just soft walking. A new path of huge stone blocks solved the issue around High Seat where the bog had obviously been boggiest. A good walk & five Wainwrights bagged.

Mark Hazelton conquered High Tove on July 4th, 2021 [from/via/route] Walked up from Watendlath CP & bagged High Tove & High Seat. [with] Family and Pepper [weather] Sunny & humid then got absolutely drenched - Car park is a great find also took in Ashness Bridge & Surprise View

Richard Beardsley scaled High Tove on July 1st, 2021 [from/via/route] Dropped off & started route at 0800 hrs from Ashness Bridge [with] Myself. [weather] Slightly overcast but sun broke through eventually. Warm pleasant day. - Route from Ashness Bridge was straight forward. Started from the right side of the Bark House mountain hut, (public footpath signpost just visible). Followed the path quite easily & where it meets the gill turned right onto an old but well made stone pitched path that climbs steeply up the fellside to the Dodd. The summit trig point of High Seat eventually comes into view. Having summited High Seat the recently made stone path to High Tove is easily located & leads directly to its top. Armboth Fell was next & again that was easily sighted from High Tove. A direct route was taken over comfortable ground which could be quite boggy in wet weather. After Armboth I returned to High Tove passed through the gate & descended along the track to Watendlath. It was then a 5 mile walk along the road to Keswick & catch the bus to Carlisle. I arrived home at 1500hrs. A thoroughly enjoyable day.

Nick Dobson walked up High Tove on May 31st, 2021 [from/via/route] National trust car park in Watendlath [with] Margaret & Ralph [weather] Very hot day today so with Ralph 11 years now the plan was to do a quick up to High Tove summit & back to Watendlath Tarn - Our third Wainwright walk this year completing number 175 & 176 of the 214, by continuing onto Armboth Fell taking advantage of the last few days of excellent weather to reduce slightly the swampiness of the route (38 more to go) Coffee & cake at the N T cafe then round to the Tarn briefly before Ralph got impatient of the peace & tranquility.

Richard Fulcher climbed High Tove on April 19th, 2021 [from/via/route] Circular walk from car parked on A591. Armboth up to High Tove (I walked across to Armboth Fell & back to High Tove), over the boggy terrain to High Seat. Complicated & difficult walk across woods & up to Raven Crag via a huge ravine, a high ladder stile & along a track. Back down to Thirlmere & back to the car. [with] Jen (except Armboth Fell) [weather] Beautiful sunny day with very little wind ... a slight chill at times. - The whole walk was 7.8 miles for Jen & 9.2 for me.
