Darren Mortimer walked up Grey Nag on September 29th, 2018 [with] Dermot Palmer [weather] very windy

Kevin Foster climbed Grey Nag on July 21st, 2018 [from/via/route] Gilderdale bridge [with] Henry. [weather] Overcast becoming sunny. - Having already bagged Black Fell on a previous walk the plan was to do Grey Nag and Tom Smith's Stone Top as an out and back thus avoiding the 'peat hags' section between TS's ST and Black Fell which was not very pleasant by most accounts. The walk began on clear enough paths but these soon petered out on Black Hill and Whitley Common. The pathless walking over the rough grass and heather so typical of these northern pennine hills was tough but not too difficult and the vast cairned top of Grey Nag was soon reached. A bit of clambering over walls was necessary to reach the OS trig point and then a clamber back to find a sheltered spot for lunch in one of the many sheepfolds around the summit. The views were not as extensive as they could have been due to the overcast conditions (Cross Fell and the Dun fells were in cloud). The clouds did lift later on the return journey.

Christine Shepherd bagged Grey Nag on March 5th, 2017 [from/via/route] Walked from Gilderdale Bridge using walk c114. [with] On my own [weather] A fine spring day with plenty of sunshine.

Mark Davidson has hiked Grey Nag [with] alone [weather] Bright and sunny - lovely summers day - The route between Black Fell (Haresceugh Fell) to Grey Nag crosses some of the boggiest ground I have ever come across - despite it being a hot and dry summer day (can't remember what the rest of that summer (2007) was like though). If you are thinking of doing it this way instead of climbing up from Gilderdale Bridge - don't!

Iain Taylor summited Grey Nag on August 3rd, 2012 [from/via/route] Hartside Cross (NY 64640 41858)

Ray O'Hara conquered Grey Nag on August 20th, 2012 [from/via/route] Gilderdale Bridge [weather] Overcast, very wet underfoot - Pleasant summit with good views
