Took higher path which leads up a steep path to top of Gowbarrow. Continued over ridge after lunch to old shooting hut, through forest track to a wall (left turn)which gave a short cut via a dis-quarry back to The Hause. Strolled up to Aira Force & continued back up to High Cascades & then back across to car park to finish. [with] Mandy-wife. Andrew-son. Victoria-daughter. Siobhan-sons girlfriend. [weather] Sunny & cloudy but mainly warm sunshine. Bit breezy at the summit. - Thoroughly enjoyable walk up steep ascent & excellent views for a small fell. The Ullswater way was a lovely ramble & the waterfall area was very interesting & enjoyable. Apple Watch gave us a rough distance of just over 11 kilometres.

Had full waterproof gear on & as I turned to start descent this guy was walking towards summit in shorts, t-shirt & no pack or any other gear, soaked to the skin, makes you wonder what goes on between their ears.
