A steady ascent through the woods behind the Ravenstone Hotel before gaining the ridge. Our descent took us past the white stones towards Dodd before winding through the forest tracks back to the car park. [with] Pam Bennett, Oliver Bennett, Thomas Bennett. [weather] Overcast to begin with, brightening up later.

[weather] Great day for it - windy to start but the sun came out there was a little heat that was wonderful. - Loved walking with someone else - very different, & I don't normally stop for a cuppa but it was fab. Tough work getting up Ullock Pike, but once that was done the rest was pretty straightforward.

Winds weren't too bad. Mainly sunny. Gloves for the top but other than that no issues. - The path, which we knew about, down from Carl Side to Dodd Wood has massively eroded over the years. Kevin Foster conquered Carl Side on November 27th, 2020 [from/via/route] Long Side. [with] Henry. [weather] Cloudy> - Unfortunately after reaching the summit of Long Side the cloud dropped & visibility became zero. The day's walking plan had been to do Skiddaw's various tops after Carl Side & drop down off Bakestall but with the cloud down below Carl Side now there didn't seem much point. So after bagging Carl Side I headed down the obvious path SW & then did a 180 degree turn into Dodd wood to bag Dodd. Although disappointed not to do Skiddaw that day I still enjoyed the bonus of doing Dodd & Dodd wood even though it was a long walk back to the car. Annoyingly as I reached Dodd wood the cloud lifted again certainly higher than Skiddaw Little Man if not the summit of Skiddaw itself. Oh well there's always another day!

A fantastic day out with my Mum, awesome views & my first ascent of Skiddaw with many more that followed. A lovely memory for me. [with] Mum & Dad [weather] A fine day with not wind wall to wall sunshine - The ascent of Skiddaw was taken during a weeks holiday in the Lakes with Mum & my Dad although I just went out walking up the mountains with my Mum as my Dad was not fit enough to join us.
