Richard Fulcher climbed it on March 10th, 2025 [from/via/route] Parked for free on the crescent in Glenridding! We followed the road up to the Helvellyn YHA & then followed the clear path up to Red Tarn. From Red Tarn we followed the path on the other side up to the 'Hole In The Wall' & then on to Birkhouse. Our descent followed the wall down to Lantys Tarn (devestated by forestry operations 😟) & then back to the car. [with] Jen [weather] Started clear & bright but changed by 10am to low cloud & increasingly windy … gusts of over 40 miles & hour. Very cold. - Finally completed after missing the top by 100ft on a previous walk up from Patterdale.

Kate Peacock bagged it on September 29th, 2024 [from/via/route] Glenridding [with] Me and Amber [weather] Blustery on the tops. Stayed dry. Quick walk! - Stoney walk

Climbed over Striding Edge & then on to Helvellyn but then took a detour to walk out to Lower Man then doubled back to Helvellyn before descending Swirral Edge to then climb too summit of Catstye Cam. From here we descended to Hole in the Wall & then went out to Birkhouse Moor & rather than doubling back to Hole in the Wall to repeat the path back to the carpark we continued beyond the summit along easy to follow paths which led back down to join the return route at NY377158, making a total of 16.4Km [with] With DS [weather] Sunny spells & quite warm at times especially on uphill sections when in lea of the breeze. On the tops the breeze was chilly. - Stunning views in all directions.

Christine Shepherd conquered it on June 13th, 2009 [from/via/route] Walked from Glennridding. [with] On my own [weather] Bright & sunny - Took a detour to bag this summit while friends had a break at 'The Hole in The Wall'. Following the old pack horse trail down Patterdale common was great to see how the valley changed from the top at Grisedale Tarn to Braesteads Farm.

Sarah Hamer climbed it on August 20th, 2020 [from/via/route] Glenridding - parked up & took on Nethermost Pike, Dollywaggon Pike & Birkhouse Moor - Striding Edge - near meltdown [with] Chris Hamer, David May and Maddie [weather] Started off sunny & 17 degrees - wind got up & on the top it was really blowing, a little shower but once away from the tops the wind dies down - thank goodness - My memory of Striding Edge must have been buried as this was the 3rd time of taking it on. A good one to start off on - the others surely can only be easier!!

Andy Buxton bagged it on April 25th, 1992 [from/via/route] From Patterdale. Circular walk: Birks, St.Sunday Crag, Fairfield,Dollywagon Pike, Nethermost Pike,Birkhouse Moor [with] SPI Lewis [weather] Cool, clear day, but windy. - Enjoyable route. Only merit is its another Wainwright knoked off.

Victoria Bates summited on May 12th, 2017 [from/via/route] Glenridding

Kevin Foster conquered it on October 24th, 2019 [from/via/route] Patterdale [with] By myself. [weather] Blue skies cloud developing later on Striding Edge & Helvellyn. - The route I took was a new approach for me; leaving the 'hole in the wall' track which leads direct to Striding Edge I followed a minor path to the right climbing to the wall running over Birkhouse Moor. A hidden stile negotiated this substantial structure. Good job I didn't bring Henry though. Lugging a 30 Kg Labrador over that would have been hard work. Near the top of the final climb I encountered a couple in their golden years ( he was a sprightly 79) who asked me the way to Striding Edge! They had previously climbed Cat Bells & The Dodd & thought they would have a go on Striding Edge. They quickly changed their minds when I pointed it out & said it was a scramble not a walk. In the end I think they headed for a lunch stop at Red Tarn before descending back down the main path to Glenridding.

Richard Marchant scaled on October 28th, 2010 [from/via/route] From Glenridding up on to Birkhouse Moor to Striding Edge-Helvellyn-Swirl Edge-Catstye Cam down to Red Tarn up to the Hole in the Wall & followed the footpath down in to Grisedale & cut back up to Lanty's Tarn & down to the car in Glenridding. [with] My oldest son James. [weather] Overcast but dry & the cloud level was above Helvellyn, also very light winds. - First time for James on Striding Edge.

John Tippins walked up on October 27th, 2018 [from/via/route] Started from Glenridding car park. Walk c220 from go4awalk.com [with] Solo [weather] Very sunny all day but biting northerly wind - wind chill minus 11. Was quite warm in sheltered spots - if you can find any on the way up Helvellyn.

Nick Dobson climbed it on March 23rd, 2019 [from/via/route] Glenridding via Mires Beck [with] Margaret, & Ralph [weather] bright but chilly day with patches of snow on route, great views of a snow covered Helvelyan. - First Wainwright of 2019, that's 130 done now hopefully a decent year with the weather can see a good reduction in the remaining 84.

Colin Egan bagged it on April 2nd, 2017 [from/via/route] From Glenridding via Lanty's Tarn [with] My wife Faith [weather] Sunny day with some cloud, quite warm on the climb - A pleasant approach to the fell, though the route was quite steep at times & the path badly worn (it is one of the approaches to Striding Edge)

Emily Sharratt hiked it on August 31st, 2009 [from/via/route] From Glenridding after Hellvellyn [with] James, Helen and Dave [weather] Windy & rainy at times - particularly at the summit, but sunshine for the most part
