Michael Nolan hiked on June 11th, 2019 [from/via/route] Haweswater ....corpse road [weather] overcast but fine
Kevin Foster summited on April 19th, 2019 [from/via/route] Swindale Lane. [with] Henry. [weather] Sunny with very little breeze making it quite hot for walking. - I chose this walk to start off my Lakes campaign thinking it was a fairly remote part of the Lakes and it might not be too overcrowded over the Easter weekend...wrong! When I got there the car park was already full. Although I saw many people out and about strangely I had almost every summit top to myself. The exception being Selside Pike where I met a couple with two dogs, one of which tried to eat my sandwich and the other had a go at Henry for getting too close or something. Luckily they made their apologies and quickly moved on.
Nick Dobson conquered on August 27th, 2018 [from/via/route] Mardale Head up Gatesgarth Pass v [with] Margaret & Ralph [weather] Bright sunny day - returned to Mardale Head via the Old Copse Road, then coffee and scones at the Haweswater Hotel while Ralph cracked the zzzzzzzzzz's in the back of the car.
Elaine Evans scaled on January 24th, 2019 [from/via/route] From car park at Mardale Head, up along Gatesgarth Pass, then followed the fence up to Branstree and on to Selside Pike. Descent via old corpse road to join road alongside Haweswater reservoir back to car park. [with] Sue and Christine [weather] Lovely day for a walk! Snow underfoot but clear, dry day with a little sunshine now and again. - Fun in the snow!
John Bryers has walked up [from/via/route] Car to Swindale head and took Old Corpse road. Selside Pike, Branstree, Tarn Crag and Grey Crag. Nipping across to Harrop pike and down Little Mosedale beck back to car. 11.2 miles recorded. Detour via Swindale Force waterfalls - Best waterfalls in the Lake District! [with] With Mya my faithful Patterdale Terrier. [weather] Weather cloudy with occasional showers with some strong cool winds for August! - Lunch at Brunt Tongue wood in Little Mardale valley.
