Then Mardale lll Bell, Harter Fell and return via Gatesgarth Pass. [with] Charlie [weather] Bright sunshine, however cooler than recent weeks. - Well worth the hours of driving to do this in a day. A good route with beautiful views from the summit of High Street. Lots of friendly walkers out. A good way to bag #50 Wainwright!
Tony Kenny hiked on August 22nd, 2011 [with] Kitty
Claire Kirk summited on July 18th, 2020 [from/via/route] Cow Bridge car park [with] Phil [weather] Dull at first, sunny later.
Christine Shepherd conquered on January 28th, 2007 [from/via/route] I walked from the village of Hartsop [with] On my own [weather] Cold, clear but very, very windy - This was an exciting walk. There was snow and ice on the fells but the real challenge came from the wind. Myself and other walkers that I met were finding it difficult to stand upright. I have visited this peak three times since; 12.4.07, 9.2.08 and in glorious sunshine 24.5.10. Climbed again with jenny from Mardale Head 7.9.19
Andrew Johnson scaled on October 29th, 2019 [from/via/route] Kentmere [with] Ted [weather] Sunny
Richard Marchant walked up during August, 1989 [from/via/route] This was a two day trip with an overnight camp on top of High Street. The route took me from Penrith along High Street the old Roman Road to Windermere via the following Wainwrights. Loadpot Hill, Whether Hill, High Raise, Rampsgill Head, High Street, Thornthwaite Crag, Froswick, Ill Bell, Yoke and Sour Howes. [with] On my own for this trip [weather] Dry and fine weather but extremely windy overnight to a point that I thought my tent was going to be blown away, but alas it survived.
Alan Pritchard climbed on September 12th, 2016 [with] Solo [weather] Good - Went on walking holiday - also have done the 3 peaks challenge once. Also the Yorkshire 3 peaks in 8hours..πΆββοΈππ
Kevin Foster bagged on April 28th, 2019 [from/via/route] Continuation of Kentmere Round from Froswick. [with] Henry. [weather] Clouds but with sunny breaks and clear visibility. Very warm when the sun was out. - As you ascend from the col towards the prominent cairn of Thornthwaite Crag , the main path splits into three. Take the fainter middle path over the slight rise to a boggy depression. Could be confusing in mist. Once the wall is joined just follow it to the broad grassy summit of High Street. The views are great, particularly of the Helvellyn- Fairfield range.
