Walking Boots - Your Walking and Hiking Gear Views

Briefly I have had ball of foot pain (1st metatarsal area) while walking downhill in the lakes for at least the last 3 years... so after lots of web surfing i found "HOKA" so i took the plunge and bought some hoka sky kaha walking boots.

This weekend gone i gave them a reasonable test in the lakes

friday -- kirkstone inn to cauldale moor and hartsop dodd 5.5 miles -- howtown hause to steel knots andhallin fell 3.6 miles

saturday -- grasmere to helm crag, gibsons knott, calf crag, tarn crag and silver how 11.7 miles

BALLs OF FEET GREAT

... ok desents where not long or very steep but its the 1st weekend in a long time that feet felt fine and i am sure if i had my other boots and insoles on i would have been in pain.. i also went compeed plaster free (normally plaster heels and balls of feet just to help)

The hokas had my sorbothane double strike insoles and padded socks applied

The hokas kept me dry, grip was good - support around ankles could be better but plenty of room with padded socks on.foot bed is reasonable stiff and toe box not bad..event system appears to work ok - feet dry

Would certainly recommend Hokas but only place i could find the walking boots (running shoes no problem) was george fishers in keswick..so i had to buy them on line.. thought this could help people with ball of foot pain (metatarsal) problems etc
