A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. Sorry, but I really do not like walking with Dogs. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Rugby hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi! I'm Andy. Having recently taken early retirement I want to spend as much time as possible walking and exploring our beautiful country (and abroad, when we're allowed!), something I didn't have enough time to do when I was working. I often walk alone, but it would be good to have company sometimes, especially on trips further afield and multiday walks. I go walking midweek (Monday to Thursday) which might fit your schedule if you work shifts or at weekends.

A perfect walk for me is one where you can constantly look around in awe at fantastic scenery, so I tend to gravitate towards hillwalking, mountains and coasts. I am reasonably fit and may walk up to 13 miles in a day, but I always look at the quality of the walk rather than the length, so often walk shorter distances. A perfect walk should also have some food and a couple of beers built in, either during or afterwards (preferably both!)

My day-walking in the past few years has been in the Peak District and The Cotswolds, as they are fairly local to me, but with longer trips to Snowdonia and Scotland. However, I am a confident navigator and am looking forward to exploring other areas of the country. I am a fan of staying in nice pubs with rooms when away from home for a night or two.

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 3:4:5:6:7:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; North East Scotland; Southern Scotland; North East England; North West England; Yorkshire; The English Midlands; Wales; East Anglia; The Heart of England; South East England; South West England;

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I prefer warm, dry & sunny weather but can cope with the odd shower. Sorry, but I really do not like walking with Dogs. Even if I say so myself, I consider my map reading & navigation skills to be excellent. I can drive and have a car.

I am a Qualified Ramblers Holidays Walk Leader.

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Birmingham hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi,

Just discovered this site.

I have recently started walking again to help stay healthy. Not done anything too challenging yet and I am as happy strolling round a village as I am going over the hills.

I tend to get on better with younger people and for some reason most of my friends are female. I'd like to think I am good company and at the very least I can keep up a conversation. Very ok with a bit of companionable silence as well.

I am an active volunteer so I don't have immense amounts of free time but I want to keep walking and company is the best motivation. :)

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 1:2:3:4:5:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
The English Midlands;
(click each link to see other walkers wanting to walk there)

A bit more about me:

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Telscombe Cliffs hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I want to meet people that like a good walk and laugh near me in Sussex, though happy to travel a bit further.
Ideally I would like to go early and get at least 5 to 10 miles in, though happy to go on longer walks too. I have been walking for years and did the 100km London to Brighton walk a few years ago. I can walk weekends and evenings when it's light. I would say I have an average fitness level which I want to improve with these walks.
I work full time and love reading, traveling, hanging out with friends, dancing the night away and walking. I also love to laugh and would love to meet someone similar to do this with while walking. Most of my friends will do the odd walk but not regularly and not much more than a few miles. I want to go more regularly, hence the post.

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 70s, based near Southampton hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Not ready for old age yet! I miss male company. Sadly my male friends are unwell, not able to go walking.Which is why I'd like to walk with a male friend who, like me, is interested in the state of the world, is curious, can see the funny side of life, who is respectful and considerate of self and others. Who is comfortable with meaningful conversation and silence...and anything in between.
In the past I've walked in Norway and Andalusia....locally in the forest, on beaches, South Downs.

I'm not solely into getting to a destination, love stops to take in my surroundings, maybe with a coffee or small snack?
I'd like to explore Wild places in Uk or elsewhere...maybe camping, wild swimming. Don't rule out a city walk. Locally or further afield. I would like to be guided by someone else's ideas or experiences.
I know about myself that I can get overenthusiastic and overdo it..
so would like to communicate clearly about where we are going and what it entails.
Over the last few years have not done much walking so am building strength and stamina which i Really want to do! Plus very important at my time of life!!!!
I work three days a week with long holidays and a lot of flexibility.
My hobbies are people, the Arts, live music, reading, films (series during lock down!)international, community, nature, acting to save our planet from the mess we've made!

My Message: Greetings!
I'm looking for anyone planning to walk up Helvelyn on Saturday or Scafell Pike on Sunday - either or both vice versa, depending on the weather and wind of course! Currently set to attempt both alone however would much prefer a walking buddy at this time of year! After running my first marathon last month my legs are itching for something big to climb! I am a Female Walker, in my late 40s, based near Stansted hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, long distance point to point walking is my favourite type of walking although love a weekend in the lakes or similar. Ive just does the wainwrights Coast to Coast, and previously have walked the West Highland Way and the first part of the GR5 in the alps amongst others. I do have a dog and would like to walk a bit more with him as he can do long distances but so far haven't taken him on many trips so he can stay at home if thats a deal breaker. I am going to take a sabbatical from work next year and keen to pack plenty of walking in. Some more of the GR5 next summer is at the top of the list and then the Pembrokeshire way.
I am reasonably fit - happy to walk in all weathers (although wouldn't we all prefer a bit of sunshine and blue skies !) for up to 8 or so hours a day with a pub at the end ideally!

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Burnley hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi everyone I'm Chris and would like to meet some new friends to do some walks with me and my black Labrador, Jack :-) I'm fairly easy going, enjoy having a laugh and like nothing better than a nice country pub at the end. I would prefer people who are reasonably physically fit as I usually walk 8 miles plus. I don't mind walking with just one other person or in a group. If we go for a walk in a group I prefer groups of 4 or less as it's easier that way if you have a dog. Previously I've walked up mountains in Scotland, Yorkshire Dales and Lakes and I've just started checking off a few Wainwright's. But happy to go walking anywhere in North West really. I'm ok with map reading, it's fairly easy with right apps on your phone. I work during the week so would prefer weekends really but can give myself the odd day off in the week every now and then if needed. Did the West Highland Way a few years ago and would love to do a few more long distance trails sometime.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Lincoln hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi my name is Anne. I am in my early 60's looking for walking companions for either day/weekend/week walks. I have just retired and have a desire to do a lot more walking and/or tour the UK. I have recently bought an old campervan due to this crazy COVID world! Which will help to keep myself and others safe. I have walked the White Peak Way 90 miles a couple of times which is a lovely walk and a couple of other (flat) long distance walks. Not so keen on camping, prefer B&B, Youth Hostel or similar, what a wimp! I like to go at a steady plod...... short or longer walks. I also enjoy narrowboating with family and friends. I look forward to hearing from you...

A bit more about me:

I really don't like Scrambling & Edges - they are defintely not for me. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Netley Abbey hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I have quite an active job, so my fitness level is good, I enjoy coastal and country walks, nice to sometimes have a purpose such as a decent walk to a lovey country pub and back making a nice day of it.
Love walking abroad and have travelled to many countries such as Crete, Morocco, Alaska, Kenya, Spain, etc.
It's always nice to be able to have a nice chat along the way, maybe even a picnic lunch I'm always happy to carry the picnic backpack.
I prefer the company of women while walking mainly because it's easier to smile, and I'm not a great football fan. I enjoy wildlife, nature, photography, and travel.

My Preferred Walk Areas:
South East England; South West England;

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I like walking with dogs but do not have one of my own. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Back Packing - Multi-day walks carrying all your gear & wild camping;

By putting my profile on here I am hoping to meet someone special.

So I am looking for some company along the way.I enjoy the beauty of the moor, and all its history, so I don't rush along, and am happy stop for coffee breaks and to enjoy the scenery. My dogs are very friendly and get along with most dogs, they much prefer to walk off the lead in the countryside.
