My Message: Hi. I am hoping to meet a female walking companion, preferably near Nottingham,to share walks with in The PeakDistrict, Wales,The New Forest,or open to suggestions.
I have walked and camped in various parts, mainly Yorkshire, Derbyshire,The Lake District. A few times in Wales.

A bit more about me:

When it comes to Scrambling & Edges I'm OK with the occasional edge or scramble but don't go looking for it. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Road Cycling

Important: For the avoidence of doubt I am definitely not looking for anything other than someone to go walking with.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 40s, based near Edinburgh hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I am Stephen. Looking for walking / camping companions who like to explore remote places in Scotland. I work full time but spend as much of my free time as possible walking/wild camping in the North / West of Scotland. Find it hard to organise / persuade family and friends! I am of a reasonable fitness and can just about cope with a map and compass. I am up for Corbetts / Munros but equally like nice costal day hikes. I am skilled camper, love finding remote camping spots (I know a few) and heading out for day walks 5-7 hours ideally. Be great to share this with folk that share my passion for it. I love beautiful remote costal spots with wildlife but no crowds. Happy to take the lead with driving / camping. I would love to meet people that are as enthusiastic about it as me, for day hikes or a wild camp. I am pretty easy going, organised and a good companion.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 50s, based near Lincoln hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi. I'm semi retired and live near Lincoln. I love the outdoors and love to spend my time walking, running and even gardening. Anything to be outside. I do most of my walking in the Peak District and some on the Lincolnshire Wolds. Im always happy to explore and have previously walked in the Lakes, Wales and Scotland.
My partner is not really interested in my love of walking and not that keen on the great outdoors. I do a lot of walking on my own but would enjoy some company, ideally someone who loves being outdoors like me and who doesn't mind a bit of weather. My work pattern varies so I can be free mid week and weekends too.
I've started to tick off the Wainwrights (34 so far this year) and I'm now the proud owner of a camper van and hope to venture further afield.
I'd also like to do a few wild camps.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Crosby hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I love walking and being outdoors in all weather. I'm in some walking clubs but these have been suspended at present. The last walk I did with a club was Snowdon and I usually do the A walks which are graded the most difficult. Over the summer I've been walking and cycling (not mountain biking) in France including the Pyrenees. Nevertheless I feel that I will need to build up my fitness again with walking and I'm currently in quarantine.
I want to work up Wainright's coast to coast, hopefully before Christmas. I'm freelance so have some flexibility to walk midweek as well as weekends.
I'm also interested in meeting someone to do local walks with, in between the big walks! I'm looking for walking friends, not for a relationship. I have a couple of friends who enjoy walking but get sick of waiting for people to be available! I'm not good at map reading or using a compass but have just bought a compass and definitely want to improve my navigational skills. Hope to hear from you either locally or to meet at arranged walks 😃

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 70s, based near Chester hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, my name is Chris. I am a fairly experienced walker from Chester. My wife no longer walks seriously, so I would be interested to meet a companion (female or male) to join me walking - preferably in the Lake District where I have a holiday home near to Kendal.

In 2019 I completed Hadrians Wall, and In 2018 the West Highland Way, and previously the Coast to Coast, The Wicklow Way and the Dingle Way in Ireland.

I prefer to walk in company these days though not in groups, and enjoy stimulating conversation, taking the time to savour my surroundings and enjoying the wonderful views these sceptred isles present. I have a good sense of humour, and can see the funny side of most things! I am always accompanied by at least 2 of my working Springer Spaniels.

As I am retired, every day is the weekend for me.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near Llanfyllin, hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi
I'm Dan
Most of my walking is done in North Wales, only occasionally straying over the border into Shropshire, I do circular walks as the only way to get around wales quickly is by car, I do a huge variety of walks, Walks around lakes and reservoirs, Mountain peaks, Canal walks, follow moorland tracks, and streams to their source,.
Most of the walks are published (off the peg walks), but i like to plan and research my own walks as well. I do remote moorland walks as i like the peace and solitude, Moorlands are the last of the unspoilt countryside free from the clutter of modern living.
When i go walking i like to take photographs of my walk as this forms a visual picture board memory of my walks,.

If you would like to Lap up the Legends, or Dismiss the Myths, and play among the hills, drop me a line. Dan.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Cardiff/swansea hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello, thanks for dropping by.

Looking for some upbeat walking buddies to share great walks, beautiful views and hopefully a few laughs along the way.

I'm happy with walks ranging from 5 - 12 miles. I walk in all weathers and have an impressive range of muddy footwear. I can manage longer distances occasionally, but prefer to stick to 12 miles max so I am able to walk unaided down the stairs the following day ;).

Weekends are made for walking so if you're in or around S Wales, let's get out there. I hope to walk with you very soon!

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Bishop Auckland hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi! I have enjoyed hill walking since my childhood - alongwith a sense of freedom, space and challenge it helps me refuel my inner strength to deal with anything during the working week.

I moved up to Bishop Auckland in 2010 because of my love of hill-walking. I walked the Pennine Way in 1986 and always enjoy revisiting bits of it. More recently I've completed the Dales Way, WHW, Great Glen Way, Dava Way,C2C,Offa's Dyke Path & Isaac's Tea Trail and hoped to complete Hadrian's Wall Path 2020 but didn't!!. In June 2021 I completed Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge in 11.5hrs for Alzheimer's Society (that's me on the right of the photo). I enjoy regular walking in the Lakes, Yorkshire Dales, Scottish Highlands, the Borders and Northumberland with a fantastic local fell walking club (which I help run) and am free many weekends and during the school holiday times.

My interests are all things musical and 20th Century painting. Looking forward to hearing from you. Happy 2022!! Andy

My Message: Hello, I am looking for male/female walking friends. As I work all week it would mainly be for weekend walking, whether a day walk or an weekend away. If you are local to me then happy to do some evening walks in the week.

I would say I have a good level of fitness, map skills get me by (most of the time!).

I am happy on most terrains in any weather and any area at a pace to enjoy the surroundings. I like doing trails, either as a linear walk or doing in sections and making a circular walk.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Abergavenny hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, my name is Anne and I am looking for a walking buddy to enjoy the great outdoors with. Male or female I dont mind it would just be good to have some company and chat whilst out walking.
I am keen to explore new areas or revisit walks I have done before. I have a dog (well behaved) and whilst she is great company she is more interested in running off sniffing. Whilst happy to walk alone it would be great to have some company to share the outdoor experience with and perhaps push me to walk in areas/terrains I would not do alone.
I am reasonably fit but not necessarily a fast walker. Have recently taken up spin classes to boost my current fitness. Happy on 12 mile hikes.
I enjoy all types of walking; hills, (mountains with an experienced walker), coast path and meandering through valleys particularly if it ends in a pub for a cheeky drink after. I have previously walked in the Alps and Pyrenees but mainly stuck to the UK. I would love to do one of the UK long distance footpaths in the future if my dog is willing.
I am semi retired so can be flexible when it comes to planning a walk.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Ludlow hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: I'm a keen walker now living in beautiful South Shropshire and looking for like-minded fellow walkers (male or female) to explore the local area and maybe beyond.

I've walked all my life, all over the UK- highlights include Hadrian's Wall, the Long Mynd and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. I particularly love woodland, hill and river walks and coastal paths- I'm not really into mountain walking or climbing. I'm fit and healthy and love walking all day and in all weathers, apart from heat.

As well as getting out into the countryside, I love good books and music of many kinds...I also really enjoy pub quizzes.

I work alternate weekends and have days off in the week, so am quite flexible.

I would like to do more long-distance paths and camping, but at the moment I'd like to meet people for walking, good conversation and laughter.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Midlands hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: At the moment I'm more of a weekend walker because of work but later in the year, all that changes. I'm hoping to get out and about a good deal more during the months of longer days and (potentially) better weather though really don't mind rain and mud that much!
It's good to walk with others, I think. I get to see different routes and I have to think harder about devising them to show you.
Sometimes I take a sketchbook with me and try to capture something about the landscape on the way.

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Darlington hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi I'm Annette and I'm looking for a new walking friend. I prefer not to walk in a group.
I'm in my mid 60's and I've loved walking all my life. For me it's not about how many miles I've done or how high I've climbed, it's simply being out there enjoying the surroundings and feeling free and happy.
Due to a change on my personal circumstances I find myself walking alone quite often, but sharing the day with someone else us much nicer.
Anyway, thanks for reading this and I hope someone will get in touch.

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 50s, based near Swansea hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm Alan. I enjoy walking both during my lunch break and in the evenings when daylight permits. It would be great to meet someone who lives locally who is interested in the same. At lunchtimes, urban or seafront walks are fine. In the evenings, I like to get out to the rural areas; Gower, the near side of the Brecon Beacons, and Swansea Valley are favourites.

I work at a computer from home, so it's important to me to get out into the fresh air for some exercise at least once a day. I'm open to strolling on an easy walk and also to moderately strenuous walks.

Drop me a line if you'd like to join me for conversation and exercise.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Brierfield hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hello. I'm an athletic and active 62 yr old male (who still thinks he's 25). I retired from policing and all those years of walking the beat. I've been back packing around the world, done Kilimanjaro, Everest Base Camp, Machu Picchu etc. but still loads to see. It would be great to explore with a like minded female companion or any groups. I'm based in Brierfield near Burnley but, as a part time Sports Coach and Squash addict, I've got time, spontaneity, solvency and inclination to bag those peaks. So do get in touch... I won't use anything in evidence against you!!

I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near Menston hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Dear fellow walkers
I'm a retired teacher living in Wharfedale hoping to meet like-minded individual(s) who share my passion for the countryside and the environment and would like a walking companion for the odd day out to the Dales initially.
I'm an experienced fell-walker and did MLC part 1 some time ago and certainly prefer maps to satnavs. However I also enjoy more modest valley walks (12-15 miles) and did the Offas Dyke path a few years ago.
I'm also a musician (singer and composer),keen gardener, environmentalist (CAT member), and amateur foraging mycologist who enjoys debate and discussion as well as silent observation of birds and wildlife when the time is right!
I have an electric car, largely solar powered and live 5 minutes walk from Menston station.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 80s, based near Linlithgowish hoping to meet just Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi! Hope you are fit and curious.
I live twixt Edinburgh and Glasgow;the Forth and the Wallace monument are visible from the window of my snug 1 bed flat.
Born March 43, writer, reader, lifelong sportsman, still good for average walks. 6'2" 87kg.
N.B.I am just 80 not "early eighties". Like a 6 year old who is "6 and a half". It matters to me.
Full licence but no car.
The complex here boasts a cosy visitors' flat with twin beds which I can book for you at low cost.
There are fine local walks and a gateway to the rest of Scotland.
Animal lover; always had at least a dog till 2008.
Now I get my canine highs by pet sitting and having a pocketful of dog bickies. It leads to interesting encounters.
Walked Portuguese route of Camino in 2013. Would happily repeat.
'Twould be marvellous to walk with a female companion.
I play plenty of golf and follow sports, especially football but would willingly override that for some companionable walking.
Do make contact!
David

My Message: Happy 2023 to all walking enthusiasts!! I've made a resolution to spend alot more time exploring great landscapes and I hope to find friends to share the experiences. I've enjoyed walking hills and mountains from my early years and I'm now very fortunate to have retired to a beautiful and peaceful location in Scotland. I love the scenery and wildlife of this tranquil part of The Cairngorms. If you would like to share some walking here or further afield then please don't hesitate to get in touch. Happy Hiking!! Best wishes, John.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near Wythall hoping to meet just Male new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi, I'm based in Worcestershire, which I love, despite having to travel to the nearest hills or mountains. I regularly walk the Malverns and am a keen walker, but have to admit I am not an expert at map reading, although I have led several walks on routes I am familiar with. I have walked with Explore overseas and climbed Mt Toubkal. Belonging to a mountaineering club enables me to get to the mountains regularly. Having taken early retirement, I am now free in the week to walk too, although I do have a lot of other hobbies too. I'd like to find a male walker of similar age to walk with, who is fit enough to do a mountain and talk at the same time. I love interesting conversation and to laugh! I am fit, outgoing, and am told I am good company. Look forward to hearing from you.
