Message: More of a wanderer than a trekker probably. Can walk about 10 to 12 miles at the moment but would really like to improve fitness and health and lose some of my curves. Based in Central Scotland and have my own transport and satnav! Generally work a five day week so have weekends free. I have two young dogs who would love long walks. I love photography, live music, play guitar, have my own tent and know Scotland pretty well. Good conversation, flasks of tea, shortbread and laughter a must!

Message: I'm looking for weekend walking partners male or female for weekend walks - day and possibly longer. I live in Edinburgh and keen to walk more munros, do longer trips wild camping as well as coastal walks. Anything that takes me outdoors! I am reasonably fit and run as well as ride a bike regularly. I have been up about 40 munros, so not a bagger. I don't have a car so depend on others/public transport. Am keen to see more of Scotland's wild places as well as the Borders/Northumberland and longer trips in France/Spain/Italy. My other interests are films, live gigs, drawing/painting, art galleries, cycle touring and reading.

Message: Hello. I am looking for people to go walking with at the weekends mainly on Exmoor and Dartmoor, I normally have my dog with me but conversation is very thin on the ground! I love to be in the hills and mountains winter, summer and in any weather. I would like to make some friends to go off to Scotland, Lakes, Wales etc - any area where there is good walking really. I am an easy going 43 year old female and I also enjoy kayaking - although I am very new to it but the idea of combining a walking and kayaking holiday around the islands off Scotland appeals. I live in North Devon and have done all my life but people around here just don't seem to want to get out walking! So if you're up for a wander and maybe a pint or a cuppa along the way get in touch.

Message: Hi, been walking fairly regularly for last year and looking for a people to go walking with (wife has subtalar fusion on ankle preventing long/uneven walks) and are interested in sharing the great outdoors, fresh air, having a chat and a laugh with. I'm highly motivated and have a small group of people I go out with normally but as availability can sometimes be an issue it's always good to keep your horizons broadened and anyone is welcome on our tour as it's pretty socialist and democratic. I can travel to just about anywhere if it's planned in advance but mainly stick to walks in south wales or neighbouring english counties, and also scotland when I go back there which is fairly regular and am fairly good with navigation and have transport. If there are any questions - feel free to ask, I am open and honest, bordering on blunt at times. Enjoy.

Message: Hi I am a fairly fit heterosexual lady who would love to find a walking companion. I run a pub in the New Forest which is when I walk daily with my dogs but I spend alot of my time in Exmooron my days off, where I also walk. I tend to walk much longer walks down there as obviously I have more time. I love taking time out to explore new areas especially Scotland which I have visited a lot but find it a bit lonely on my own all the time. I love staying in my camper in remote places and travelling around discovering new places in the British Isles. I would obviously like to meet the love of my life but to find a likewise person who is bright, loves the countryside, can cope with my dogs and enjoys walking with me would be great. I can walk up to 8 /10 miles easily and love picnics, or a visit to a pub. I am visiting The Outer Hebrides for a couple of weeks in Sept and it would be good now that I have found this site to prehaps find someone to accompany me. It could be alot of fun. Anyone that would like to meet for a walk in the New Forest or Exmoor (or anywhere really. . there are so many places to see) please get in touch. I run from my pub a dog walk on the 1st Sunday in the month. Feel free anyone with a mut that would like to come along.

Message: Hi I'm i guess a keen walker, did the Pennine Way last August, which was amazing, looking to do something similar this summer too. I Spend much of my walking time in the lakes, dales, or peaks or snowdonia, but really want to take a couple of weekends in scotland to experience some of the walking on offer up there. I like a little bit of scrambling and would like to develop this. I've done strinding and sharp edge and loved them both (sharp i found a bit more exposed at one point!) I have also some wild camping which i really want to do some more of, i think it would be more fun with company mind you! I pretty limited to weekends, evenings i guess and friday afternoons. Drop me a line with your ideas, I'm thinking of the Ravenber Way this summer, 200 miles from Ravensglass to Berwick, not as far as the Pennine Way this time, fancy joining me?! Mark

Message: I am interested in finding a walking buddy. I am a visitor in Scotland, and am living in Glasgow until January. (I am on sabbatical leave. ) I do not have a car, but I can get close to an agreed upon destination via train and share expenses of your car from there on out--or, if you also live in Glasgow, I can buy the gas if you drive. Am very interested in walking with someone who knows a bit about the challenges and features of the region as I am a novice here. My hiking experience is in the U. S. desert/mountains.
