Message: Hi all. . New to the site and looking to arrange regular walks at weekends and potentially walking holidays etc I have not been walking for a while, used to wander around the cairngorms as a youth but since moving to england I havent really had the time until now to do much. Im raring to go now though and need to get a few walks organised to ease myself back in gently. I am more than happy to travel anywhere really and to try any kind of walking in any environment. My main reason for getting into walking is to get back to a good level of fitness, allied to that of course I love being in the outdoors and meeting new people. . hence the reason for joining up here I would consider myself to be fun and spontaneous with a desire to explore and go on little adventures. . come and say hello and hopefully we can organise something

Male Walker, 49, based near Blackpool

Message: Hi, I am a cheerful, happy go lucky, adventurous guy who has always had a facination for the outdoors-walking, camping, caving etc and a love of travel. I am planning to walk some long distance paths such as the Lancashire Coastal Way, Ribble Way or discuss any path you are interested in. I intend to video the walk and it would be fantastic to meet someone who would enjoy sharing the challenge. Probably do the walk in stages over a period of time. I am happy to begin with easy sections of about 5 miles enjoying the walk, increasing the distance as we get fitter. I am free most days and look forward to hearing from anyone who would like to join me in planning and doing some great walks. I am open to any other ideas and love country pubs.

Female Walker, 43, based near South Molton

Message: Hello. I am looking for people to go walking with at the weekends mainly on Exmoor and Dartmoor, I normally have my dog with me but conversation is very thin on the ground! I love to be in the hills and mountains winter, summer and in any weather. I would like to make some friends to go off to Scotland, Lakes, Wales etc - any area where there is good walking really. I am an easy going 43 year old female and I also enjoy kayaking - although I am very new to it but the idea of combining a walking and kayaking holiday around the islands off Scotland appeals. I live in North Devon and have done all my life but people around here just don't seem to want to get out walking! So if you're up for a wander and maybe a pint or a cuppa along the way get in touch.

Female Walker, 49, based near Southampton

Message: Hi, I really enjoy walking but am generally too enthusiastic for most of my friends. I would like to meet a like minded walker to move me out of my comfort zone and support me to improve my fitness through regular, active walks (preferably involving a hill or two!) Biggest problem is that I live in Hampshire and obviously need to drive further afield to encounter any real altitude! Dorset coast is fabulous and only an hour away as indeed are the South Downs. Am interested in exploring further afield but would like opportunity to meet like-minded souls. I have been a walker off and on most of my life but would really love to move up a gear or two. If you think we might hit it off, would be great to hear from you.

Male Walker, 44, based near Windermere

Message: Hi, I am Graeme, a 44 year old male from Windermere, looking for female walking partners of similar age, and a love of walking the Lake District fells as well as other areas. I am young at heart, resonably fit (like to think so anyway), and also enjoy running and open water swimming. Over recent years I have completed the C2C and the West Highland Way, nothing I like better than walking all day then setting up camp and relaxing with food & beer and beautiful scenery, would be nice to have someone to share it with, as my friends seem to prefer spending time in the pub. I am interested to hear from anyone of any ability, who would like to do some walking in the Lakes but I am also willing to travel to other areas. I am Interested in day walks, short walks, or long distance walks. I will be more than happy to show anyone around my part of the world should they wish to visit.

Female Walker, 56, based near Perth

Message: Hi, my name is Petra. I have a lively Springer Spaniel who needs his long walks every weekend (and shorter ones during the week). I work full time so weekends are when I can go out walking. I enjoy gentle walks (anything from about 4-8 miles) and can cope with a bit of a gradient. (I'm not a Muntro bagger!) It's also nice to have a wee picnic stop about half way and possibly a coffee stop as well!. I am looking for a like minded person who would like to join me walking at weekends. I don't mind travelling and staying in dog friendly B & B's or small hotels as that way you get to see more of the country. I also have my own tent with electric hook up etc for summer camping. I look forward to hearing from you.

Female Walker, 50, based near Lyndhurst

Message: Hi I am a fairly fit heterosexual lady who would love to find a walking companion. I run a pub in the New Forest which is when I walk daily with my dogs but I spend alot of my time in Exmooron my days off, where I also walk. I tend to walk much longer walks down there as obviously I have more time. I love taking time out to explore new areas especially Scotland which I have visited a lot but find it a bit lonely on my own all the time. I love staying in my camper in remote places and travelling around discovering new places in the British Isles. I would obviously like to meet the love of my life but to find a likewise person who is bright, loves the countryside, can cope with my dogs and enjoys walking with me would be great. I can walk up to 8 /10 miles easily and love picnics, or a visit to a pub. I am visiting The Outer Hebrides for a couple of weeks in Sept and it would be good now that I have found this site to prehaps find someone to accompany me. It could be alot of fun. Anyone that would like to meet for a walk in the New Forest or Exmoor (or anywhere really. . there are so many places to see) please get in touch. I run from my pub a dog walk on the 1st Sunday in the month. Feel free anyone with a mut that would like to come along.

Message: Hi, I'm a 54 year old female based near Farnham, looking for male/female company for more regular walking in Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex, Dorest. Local walking groups are rather large and I prefer more one to one conversation, probably a faster pace too. I tend to use pre planned walks as I'm not the best map reader - happy to learn from an expert though! Available to walk at least every other weekend, and occasionally in the week, especially during summer months while the evenings are lighter. I'm reasonably fit (Gym and cycle) and happy to walk 8-10 miles or more. Love walking holidays uk or abroad, walked Hadrian's Wall two years ago. Would love to meet more liked minded people to share the beauty of uk countryside. Pub stops are equally important but I'm not adverse to the odd picnic! I look forward to hearing from you!

Female Walker, 47, based near Near Chorley

Message: Hi I am Jules a single walker… I live near Charnock Richard Services on the M6 (sounds lovely doesn't it!!). Like to do fairly strenuous walks but then happy to tootle sometimes (but my strenuous may be easy to someone else so who knows!!). I like camping and weekends away. But I can only do every other weekend. I am easy going and friendly (well like to think I am!!) and happy to walk in a group or with any individual. I often have a dog with me. Just joined this site April 11 so hope people get in touch. Have fun Jules.

Love dogs although cannot have one myself due to work committments, Do most of my walking in Scotland but live in the North east. Would like to meet females or small groups with a GSOH who are not interested in a race, but enjoy taking in the scenery and relaxing in the pub or by an open fire at the end of the day.

Message: Hello there I seem to have ticked an awful lot of boxes where I would like to walk. Im not sure if it was meant to be areas where you would like to access in a weekend. If so I obviously wont be able to go to some of these (eg orkney!). Anyway Im writing this as i hope to find more friends to go on walking trips with and maybe even walking holidays. Ive done walking hols abroad in the past but they have mainly been with companies like Exodus. I'd like to do my own trips with some like minded friends in the future. But for now I'd just be happy to meet some people to do trips at the weekend with. Ive done quite a bit of walking with walking clubs in the past but I'd like to make it a bit more adventurous by going with friends and finding our own way. Anyway I wont waffle on too much for now and hope to hear from someone!
