new Female Walker, 55, based near Lincoln

Message: Hi there, my name is Jan, I am fairly fit and like to keep active. Love walking and until 5 years ago, lived near to the lovely hills of Derbyshire. Now living in Lincolnshire and have not done as much walking as I would like to, miss the hills, so looking for a like-minded person who enjoys the outdoors. I am fairly easy going person with a good sense of humour (laughter is definitely the best medicine), will have a go at most things at least once, and have a zest for life. Happy to walk up to about 12 miles, enjoy both short and long walks, a stroll or ramble, country or coast, especially if there's a lovely pub meal at the end of it.

new Female Walker, 42, based near Brigg

Message: Hi, my name is Sharon and I live in North Lincolnshire. It's been a while since I did much walking and as a result I'm not as fit as I used to be. I am looking for companions for weekend day walking (and perhaps an evening walk in the week if someone lived locally enough); preferably someone who would be happy to take things at my pace initially. I have walked on my own but I get pleasure from sharing the experience and it is not the same without a companion. I enjoy a pint and pub meal as reward at the end too :)

Lately, due to a change in circumstances I have done less walking, but would love to start again on a regular basis. I am happy to do day walks quite locally and occasional weekends away. In the past I have walked in Austria, and the Julian Alps in Slovenia. I have walked in all weathers but do prefer it mostly dry :-)

new Male Walker, 62, based near Nth W Leicestershire

Message: Hi, I walk regularly in all weathers and though I like getting up somewhere reasonably high (love Tryfan) I'm happy walking the valleys and dales too. I walk to see what's there, not to tick it off and so don't believe it's necessary to do distance or height just for the sake of it. I also enjoy camping , windsurfing and occasional cycling. I'm outgoing, fit, dependable and a fairly competent navigator. I'm looking for someone of similar ilk but female to join me, age isn't important, but you must be a non smoker so if you would like to see more of our wonderful country and mix it with good company, lively conversation ( light hearted or serious ), plenty of laughter, and an after walk meal or drink then write. I'm free most weekends and occasional weekdays too. Chris

Male Walker, 49, based near Near Doncaster

Message: Hi, I love the outdoors in any weather but not done much these last few years due to other priorities in life so a bit rusty, not after a date just relaxing walking company- one to one or small mixed groups to explore our wonderful countryside, mostly available for weekday walks which I enjoy due to everyone else being at work ! but can make some weekends with a bit of planning. I don't like route marches as i like to enjoy the scenery and take the odd photo.. but can keep a fair pace when needed, much younger than my age suggests and always out to enjoy the walk with a smile or laugh along the way,I am trustworthy & reliable company....happy to talk but also happy to keep quiet and relax, I have previously spent most of my time in the Peak district which I adore, though not a beginner I am not experienced either so although getting lost is rare it does happen once in a while !! Any questions feel free to ask i don't bite and we only live once don't we. . . . . . . and as a walking friend i think I am a bit of a bargain.

Message: Hi I am looking for new walking friends. Have done quite a lot of walking but awhile ago now and would like to take it up again. Ideally, prefer The Lakes, Yorks. Dales, Peak District and North York Moors but always open to suggestions for other areas. I love Scotland also but never walked in that region before. I have my own transport ie. a motorcycle, so travelling is no problem. Would be nice to combine walking with touring if there are any bikers out there but not set in stone. Message: Hi, at the moment I am primarily interested in walking in the Yorkshire Dales + Peak District. I am trying to build up my fitness so prefer to spend as much time as possible walking and not in the car. I will be traveling further field in the future. I'm keen to hear from anyone who genuinely enjoys relaxed walks in pleasant landscapes. I'm a very flexible person, willing to adjust plans to fit in with other walkers, the weather etc (I'm not obsessive about ticking off routes) Due to work I spend part of my time in Nottingham and the rest in Yorkshire and I am sometimes available for walking during the week.
