I am a Male Walker, in my early 70s, based near Ightham

My Message: Hello, my name is Cliff. I'm slim, fit and active - looking for a female walking companion. I live in a village close to Sevenoaks/Tonbridge. I am divorced, ready to move on and have outdoor interests including clay pigeon shooting. I've been walking for some time with a Wednesday group but would like to walk more than once a week. I've been semi-retired for a while and am interested in most sports. Would prefer to walk locally to begin with. Please get in touch if you would like to know more - there's lots to talk about. Thank you !

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 40s, based near County Durham

My Message: Hi, I live in County Durham and I am looking for walking companions to walk with me mainly on weekends but can do some mid week walks also. I wouldn't say I'm an experienced walker but have really enjoyed what I have done so far which includes Ben Nevis. I don't mind the weather or people bringing dogs and I enjoy a country pub at the end of the day. Looking forward to making new friends and enjoying new adventures.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 50s, based near Grassington

My Message: Hi, this is Diane. I live in the Yorkshire Dales and own a hotel (with walking companion rates if you choose to stay there) - I am finding it really difficult to find a walking companion to walk with, mid-week especially. Not looking to walk really long distances but happy to do up to 10 miles or so. Love the idea of pub grub after a good leg stretch. I love to laugh and consider myself easy company. I am not on here looking for romance (or whatever the modern term is) but just to enjoy the company of a fellow male or female walker. Hope to hear from you. Diane

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Chatham

My Message: I'm a 60 year old male based in Chatham Kent but I often travel to NW England and stay in Liverpool, Warrington or sometimes Manchester. I travel by train as I work for a rail company and don't drive but find that I can get to most of the places I like to go walking. My walking interests are varied I used to do a lot of mountain walks a few years ago but haven't done any serious hard ones in recent years but I'm still fit to do long walks. I like canals, railway, coastal and river paths, moorland walks and around reservoirs maximum walk length I usually do are about up to 12 miles in 4-5 hours though I could shorten or lengthen it depending on a possible companion's need, if you have a dog I can work out a walk to suit your dog. I have lots of knowledge of walks around the NW and other area's. I'm just looking for a friend either male or female to enjoy going walking within any of my favourite areas, I'm independent and would travel to meet at any place that is convenient. I'm a new member and haven't got a photo but hope to add one soon.

I am a Male Walker, in my early 60s, based near Whitehaven

My Message: Now retired and living in the west of the Lake District I walk and cycle regularly and enjoy scrambling but would enjoy some company and that pint at the end with a hearty bar meal and lively conversation to round off a good day. I'm a non-smoker with a good sense of humour, very interested in wildlife, in particular otters and birds but also nature in general and landscape photography in particular. I have a campervan so get all over the country and to Scotland at least 4 times a year, the Isle of Skye being a favourite along with island hopping and Ardnamurchan whenever possible - Iím also trying to tick off more Munros - when the weather's good for views! I cycle, enjoy backpacking, have canoed and sailed in the past, Iíve skied many top French resorts over 35 years and enjoy a tough walk on the summits as much as a low level ramble stopping off to view waterfalls, a panorama or sunset or just to sit, reflect and share a magic moment in like-minded company. I particularly enjoy outdoor sketching in watercolour. If you fancy a ramble, a trek here or abroad, or a scramble, I hope to hear from you.

I am a Female Walker, in my late 30s, based near Preston

My Message: Hi, I'm Catherine, 37 from Preston. I have done quite a lot of walking, mainly in the Lakes and North Wales but other areas too. I would like to do more in Scotland. I have previously walked a lot with my parents but they are getting past the long and high stuff now. Also I met a great walking partner on here about 7 years ago but she has moved abroad for work! I'm now struggling to get out walking as I don't want to go by myself. I love anything outdoors, pretty much any weather. I love camping and a good pint after a walk. Anyway, drop me a line if you'd like to make contact and get out walking. Thanks 2016 Update - I have not been on here for a while as I have had foot surgery in May. It is healing quite well so I am now keen to start walking again. I will have to start slowly as fitness won't be brilliant and don't want to push the foot too much!

I am a Female Walker, in my late 60s, based near Brighouse

My Message: Hi I am 69 years of age and have loved walking all my life. Until recently I have done walks of up to 12 miles, mostly in the Dales but my husband and walking partner can no longer accompany me and I have been confined to just 3 miles a day with my 2 dogs. I am really missing doing new walks and in particularly the hills. I would love to here from anyone (female)willing to accompany me on some new walks. I am quite happy to travel up to an hour. I now only have one dog capable of distance but I am happy to walk with or without dog. My other interests are reading, gardening and the general outdoors and I do one day per week voluntary work. I am also a recently retired Endurance Horse rider so have a love of horses.

I am a Male Walker, in my mid 50s, based near West Sussex

My Message: Hello. I'm keen on the outdoors and enjoy back-packing and fell walking - I love the independence and freedom of it. I usually like to choose organised campsites or hostels interspersed with the odd B&B or wild camping, depending on weather. I'm currently organising a fair number of trips in Wales and the Lake District and I'm in North Wales for a long-weekend every three months. Because of the usual busy diaries and work commitments, its often quite hard to get walking friends together for trips so I am looking for some people to do these walks with - as its always more fun with others. I'm based south of London but regularly travel north for day-walks or for weekends in the mountains. If you might be interested in getting involved and coming along then please drop me a line....

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Solihull

My Message: I currently live in Solihull, and would like to walk more than I currently do - I spend far too much time sitting on the sofa just thinking about places I'd like to go to. I'm only looking for friends, either for local walks or further away - I'm currently working my way through the Wainwrights and am up to 77, I think - so I'm particularly interested in fell walking friends. I don't consider myself a particularly experienced or confident walker, but can read a map and feel happy to be out in the fells on my own - I do most of my walking alone at the moment. I love nature and wildlife - and am often behind a camera when I'm not walking. I'm vegan, so perhaps not the right choice of walking partner if you're wanting to go for a Sunday roast afterwards. (Although I believe a beer is an essential post walk ritual). I love dogs, and although I don't have a dog myself, would be delighted to walk with one - or several. I'm a teacher, and it would be particularly good to meet others who are looking to walk in the holidays.

I am a Male Walker, in my late 60s, based near Rugby

My Message: I am an experienced, fit walker with a particular passion for hiking and wild camping. I am going to the Pyrenees from 14th August for two weeks and would very much like to walk with a companion (my son was coming but very sadly he has had to drop out at the last minute). I intend to walk in the general area of Vignemale, Gavarnie, Odessa, Neouvielle/Vallee d'Aure - areas I know well from previous similar trips - it is stunning scenery and quite accessible. Typically I would would sort out routes for 3-4 days, camp out for a couple of nights, walking 5-6 hours a day and exploring. I am retired with a now grown up family and love cycling, walking, climbing, sailing, the outdoor life in general. I enjoy meeting people, a good discussion about life the universe and everything, classical music, I know nothing about sport! If you would like to join me on this adventure please make contact. Look forward to hearing from you. Bye - Laurie

I am a Female Walker, in my early 50s, based near Bradford

My Message: Hello everyone, there doesn't appear to be a page here to list walking groups, which is a real shame as I belong to an absolutely fantastic one. The only problem is, I live in Bradford and the group is based in the Lake district: I love my walking club, but it's a long drive (around 1. 5hrs each way). Although I truly enjoy the journey, it's costly on petrol on my own so I can't go as often as I'd like to. So I was wondering if there is anyone in the Bradford/Leeds areas, or anyone en-route on the A65, who would be interested in joining me and sharing transport costs? I know it's a long shot, but hey-ho it's worth a pop. The club meet at 8. 30am every Sunday morning in all weathers and seasons. It's definitely a 'real' fell walking club - there are 3 grades of walk every week so there's something for everyone from the relatively gentle 'C' walks (usually around 8 miles and 1-3 peaks) to the astonishing 'A' walkers who are pretty hardcore (multiple hills and a LOT of ground covered in a day. A lot of them are climbers as well - I'm in awe to be honest). I tend to enjoy the middle ground of the 'B' walks with the occasional 'C'. I'm not bad company (or so I'm told), and even better is that I don't drink and love driving ;D so if anyone is interested then please message me! (Oh, and to avoid any potential misunderstandings, I'm not posting this to find a boyfriend so males and females of all ages are very welcome.)

I am a Female Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Wakefield

My Message: Hi, I am looking for walking companions either female or male. I would like to do reasonable walks of about 5 - 8 miles and looking for companions who like to do easier 1-3 type walks ( I'm not a mountain goat!) whilst also socialising with people with different interests (no forced marchers please!). I really enjoy coastal walks and gettting out and about. I would like to mainly walk at weekends either local walks or further afield. I live in Wakefield in West Yorkshire and have a car so trips out to East, North Yorkshire and Lincolnshire prefered but I would consider travelling further. I also like camping and have my own "old" micro campervan. If this message is of interest to you please let me know. Best Wishes, Diane

I am a Male Walker, in my late 30s, based near Derbyshire

My Message: Hi all. I'm a 37 year old male from Derby, whom has quite recently developed a passion for the great outdoors - a passion, unfortunately, not shared with my city-going friends. My walking boots don't get to see anywhere near as much terrain as they deserve to, and I'm hoping that this website can change that. I am therefore, looking for some company, male or female - age not an issue - who enjoys the walking, the fresh air, the exercise, and especially the scenery as much as I do. Whether it's a quiet, easy stroll, or something more demanding over several days, I really don't mind. The weather is also not a problem to me - like any sensible person, I prefer the sun to be in the sky and a mild breeze to be in the air, but I also enjoy walks in varying climates as long as I remember to pack the correct gear! :-) If anybody reading this post feels in a similar situation, then please get in touch and drop me a message. I look forward to responding. Thanks. Matt.

I am a Female Walker, in my early 60s, based near N.Wales/Shropshire Border

My Message: Hi, Just looking for female walking partners at weekends and sometimes during the week. My husband works weekends and also walks with his 'meaty mens walking group' (women not allowed!) So I am chomping at the bit to get out and do it! We are semi retired and live just south of Oswestry on the border with Shropshire. I love high level Snowdonia or Lake District walks as the biggies really do it for me- you can't beat the feeling you get as you look down from a peak you have just struggled up. But I also like to appreciate everything as I go up and come down- stillness, wildlife, conversation, the views and everything beautiful. Low level walks are fine also, as I just want to be out there walking in fresh air and nature. Anyway if you find yourself resonating with any of this, then please do get in touch via email and we can make an arrangement. (Sorry only ladies as I am very happily married and don't want to upset hubby). You will find me great fun, outgoing, youthful, and lighthearted, but most of all- up for it. Happy walking, Annie
