A Series of 28 circular walks that climb (or bag) all one hundred of highest mountains in the Lake District National Park
Like nothing else, The Lakeland 100 will inspire you to explore The Lake District and visit some of Britain's most dramatic scenery and cherished landscapes.
From Scafell Pike (No. 1) to Harter Fell (No. 100) the Lakeland 100 is a celebration of this walker's paradise. It details a series of 28 circular walks that visit all 100 hundred of the highest mountains within the Lake District National Park.
All 28 walks are well within the capabilities of the average walker (the longest is less than 13 miles) and all will take you to some of the most spectacular vantage points in the British Isles.
And if you like to walk with the added security of a GPS Device, all 28 walks come complete with downloadable GPS Waypoint data that you can upload into your GPS at the touch of a button.
Whether or not a particular top or peak qualifies for Lakeland 100 status depends not only on its height above sea level but also on the amount of re-ascent required from a neighbouring mountain to reach the summit. In England peak baggers traditionally set this at 30m (100ft) and so this is the criteria employed when deciding which mountains are included (and excluded) for the Lakeland 100.
This system guarantees that every one of the Lakeland 100 is a proper mountain and climbing them all is an achievement you can be truly proud of.
