The Welsh 3000'ers
The 15 Mountains that rise above 3000ft in Wales
The Welsh 3000'ers comprise 15 tops that rise above 915m (3000ft) and have at least 30m of reascent on all sides.
The highest point is SNOWDON (Yr Wyddfa in Welsh) and there are 7 in The Carneddau, 5 in the The Glyders and 3 in The Snowdon Area
You can do all the Welsh 3000'ers in just 4 walks.
The 4 walks we recommend to start you off are:
cw129 Carnedd Dafydd, Carnedd Llewelyn & Yr Elen from Glan Dena
gw102 The Welsh 3000’s (The Glyders) from Llanberis
gw136 The Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) Horseshoe from Pen y Pass or gw198 The Welsh 3000’s (Snowdon Area) from Pen y Pass
It is very difficult to walk all 15 3000ft tops in a single day - unless you can tackle 52km (32.5 mls) with 4,549m (14,921ft) of ascent (& our walk timing algorithm suggests this would take over 27hours)
If you are new to the concept of 'Peak Bagging' - any of these 15 would be a really good place to start your collection.
Downloadable 'Peak Baggers' pdf file including a location map and list of these mountains by areas:
