[with] My wife Faith [weather] Cloudy & cold, some rain. In the cloud on top! - We decided that we would do the 3 Peaks over 2 days as we are not young enough & fast enough to do it at speed! The last bit of the descent was in the dark, fortunately we had torches but the route was not clear & it was not a very easy path to find. Going to invest in a more powerful head torch as that would help.

Kevin Foster bagged Ingleborough on August 22nd, 2017 [from/via/route] Clapham [with] Peter and Henry [weather] Hill mist clearing from summit by afternoon - This was a great route up a great mountain. The approach through the man made grounds of Ingleborough Hall was picturesque but then just around the corner, after the entrance to Ingleborough show cave, the natural wonders began. Trow Gill a narrow rocky cleft in a limestone gorge. Gaping Gill a monster pot hole that has the largest unbroken waterfall in England into which Fell Beck disappears. Not today though as the Craven pot holing club had partially dammed the beck & were winching people in & out of the cavern for charity. One chap who arrived the same time as us had booked to go down & then had a 4 hour wait. We decided we had bigger fish to fry. After a leisurely lunch stop on Little Ingleborough the waiting game we had been playing all day finally paid off & the mist cleared from the summit. The clear top allowed us to explore for a while & take plenty of photos but the humidity in the air prevented much clarity in the distant views sadly. Oh well can't complain we were lucky to get a mist free summit.
