Contacting the emergency services when walking in UK hills and mountains

How to summon help when walking or hiking in the UK

Many of us walk regularly year after year and never have to deal with any emergencies.

However - even for the most experienced walker - things can sometimes go wrong and we can find ourselves needing to summon help for ourself or for a walk companion.

And when that happens, knowing how to contact the emergency services can be vital.

So if you're new to walking or have been walking for awhile but are planning your first trip into more remote/higher mountain areas, then you will find the information on Contacting the Emergency Services when Walking, Hiking or Rambling really useful if you or someone in your group does have an accident or you come across another walker in difficulty.
