I have recently finished on-going talks with Berghaus about their Oregon Walking boots.
Following a walking holiday in Scotland (wet grass & moorland, no rock climbing) I discovered that my boots were letting in copious amounts of water - I could wring out my socks!
The boots were sent back to Berghaus for independent testing (boots only 2 years old). The results that came back was that they did not leak and passed all tests including the flex test which simulates walking.
I eventually got my money back after 6 weeks of complaining! I have now purchased a pair of Leather Goretex lined Meindl boots which are excellent!
My question to you is, is the problem with the Berghaus boots a common one? Are the tests that manufacturers carry out realistic? Berghaus claim to this day that the boots did not leak (Was I imagining it?)
