In-use Test:

Shorts are great in the summer but leave you prone to sun burn, insect bites and scratched legs when striding across some of the UK's less peopled paths and open-access land.

Paramo's Mens Merapi Vent Lightweight Trousers solve all these problems yet display none of the disadvantages of conventional walking trousers.

The lightness of the fabric and articulated knee area design meant I felt like I was wearing shorts whilst providing due protection to my tender legs.

The adjustable, elasticated waist band ensured a good snug fit around my middle and the external pockets and discreet zipped pockets provided plenty of storage for all my bits and pieces.

The Marsh Green colour of the pair I tested is spot on and when things got a little too warm - I simply opened the vents for extra ventilation.

They also wash well and dry like lightening.

Buying Advice:

Extremely comfortable and lightweight. Windproof and ideal for summer tramping through the rising ferns and heather. Loved the elasticated waist.
