In-use Test:
Material: The Tog24 Electron Thermal Pro is made from a 100% Polyester fabric, it is extremely soft and light weight. The insulative properties are also excellent - it kept me warm worn as a mid layer all through a cold February day on top of some exposed Lancashire hills. The breathability was also very good. The performance appears unchanged after one machine wash.
Fit: Tester: female, 5'7", slim build. The body and sleeve length are good. There's no adjustment possible at the hem - but I found that the longer length meant that this wasn't too much of a drawback. The cuffs are elasticated for a snug fit.
Collar: The zips runs all the way to the top of the collar which is good on a cold day. However, it wasn't really high enough to cover the back of my neck.
Pockets: Unfortunately there are are no side pockets for your hands but there is breast pocket although this isn't big enough for an OS map.
Zips: The zip opens from about two thirds down. So although this is a fleece that goes on over your head, you can 'vent it' quite easily. The zip is tagged - so it's relatively easy to open with gloved hands.
Other considerations: The elbows and breast pocket are re-enforced so should reduce the wear and tear in these areas.
The Tog24 Electron Thermal Pro is a very warm, light-weight fleece with good breathability. Lacks hip pockets so there's nowhere to warm your hands. Also - collar is a little too low. I liked the design so it's certainly a garment that can be worn to the pub in the evening. It comes with a 12 month guarantee but despite that, I think the recommended price makes it pretty expensive compared to some competing products.
