Ordnance Survey Outdoor Leisure Maps (Yellow Covers)
1:25 000 Scale (4cm to 1km or 2 1/2 inches to 1 mile)
The Outdoor Leisure Series of Walking Maps (yellow covers) originally covered the main walking areas of England, Scotland and Wales. They have now been incorporated into the Ordnance Survey Explorer Series of Walking Maps (orange covers) and are no longer in print.
In England and Wales the original yellow Outdoor Leisure Maps are now designated as Ordnance Survey Explorer Maps with the letters 'OL' in front of the old number (they have an orange cover with a yellow flash).
For example: The yellow Ordnance Survey 'Outdoor Leisure Walking Map 1 The Peak District - Dark Peak area' is now orange and called Ordnance Survey Explorer Walking Map OL1 The Peak District - Dark Peak area'.
All the yellow Ordnance Survey Outdoor Leisure Walking Maps in Scotland have been completely replaced with new numbers.
Even though yellow Ordnance Survey Outdoor Leisure Walking Maps are no longer in print many of us still have them and use them regularly.
If you do then you can find a walk on Ordnance Survey Outdoor Leisure Walking Maps at Walks > OS Outdoor Leisure Maps.
