Q. I am an account holder, how do I found out how many credits I have left?
A. We advise you to keep your own record by downloading all the items from go4awalk.com into a specific directory on your PC (or Mac).
Q. Does viewing a walk count as a download/credit?
A. If you open any of the Account Holders Only Content on your computer and look at it on the screen then it counts as 1 download/credit.
We provide a rich summary of each walk (including a summary of the route, walk length, ascent, time, and grade) that you can view before downloading the walk. This provides you with all the information you need for you to decide whether to pay for it or not.
Once you click on the Get Walk (or Get GPS) icon and you are logged on, it is registered as a download/one less credit against your account.
Q. Does downloading the same walk twice count as two credits?
A. No. Our accounting system will only add unique downloads to your account download total.
If you download c100 The Newlands Horseshoe from Hawes End
, c101 Pillar & Little Scoat Fell from Wasdale Head and then c100 The Newlands Horseshoe from Hawes End again by mistake this is only counted as 2 credits in total.
Our walks are continually being updated with user feedback to account for changing conditions on the ground. Our system allows you to use the very latest version of each walk without having to pay for it multiple times.
