In-use Test:

Our evaluation of these boots was during several walks (8-11 miles) over wet, boggy terrain in Cheshire featuring woodland plus sections on both tarmaced and cobbled roads.

 

There is an excellent level of cushioning in the boot which meant that it was very comfortable from the start and throughout the day. I covered a lot of wet and muddy terrain and my feet were dry, warm and comfortable throughout.

 

There is no gusset around the tongue so I would expect that there may be water seepage in heavy rain - but did not experience this during this test.

 

The boot is cut relatively high - so it should have offered good support around the ankle. However, this was undermined somewhat by the lacing system - I thought the laces were thin and I found it difficult to tighten the boots as much as I would have liked.

 

The tread is reasonably aggressive so offered a good level of grip on wet grass and mud. However, I did feel somewhat less secure on very wet, cobbled stone.

 

I found I needed a full size bigger than my normal shoe size - so I guess these are a relatively small fit.

Buying Advice:

The great level of comfort, excellent water-proofing and breathability plus the very affordable price make this a good all-round 3 season boot. My major gripe was the lacing system - which I think lets the boot down a little.
