How does a hat help when walking?

Q. What is the important of wearing a heat when the temperature/sun is so hot. Why do you want to keep the heat inside your body? I know that it helps but I just don't understand why.

A. I would say mainly to prevent sun stroke / sun burn. It can also give your eyes some shade to stop you squinting and getting blinded by any glare.
