Which is the best way up Scafell Pike?

Q. I am planning a trip with some friends up to the Lake District. Some of them have done hiking before but some haven't. I would like to take them up Scafell Pike, having done the route from Wasdale Head before, but I'm not sure if this is the best/easiest route for a novice. Can anyone suggest alternative routes?
