Q. Hi
My boyfriend [and I] are planning a trip the Lakes late November. We have both walked Snowdon gw107
Can you recommend a route that is quite straightforward?
Thanks for such a great site!

A. The only route to really avoid on Sca Fell - England's 2nd highest mountain - is the Lord's Rake route from Mickledore which is steep and trecherous and not recommended under any circumstances. Furthermore, a rock fall a year or two ago has rendered the whole of Lord's Rake extremely unstable and very, very dangerous.
These routes c109 c110 c166 c175 c233 c271 all climb Sca Fell and should present no real problem to any experienced person suitably clothed and equipped for the time of year. That said, you might prefer to choose one of the shorter walks from those shown due to the lack of daylight hours during the winter months.
Hope this helps
