Q. I have been looking for a largish (65 litre) rucksack to use for weekend walking and camping.
I've visited many shops and found the information regarding where a woman should wear the hip/waist belt very confusing.
Some say around the waist, some over the hips.
Please can someone offer any advice.

A. For larger rucksacks such as the size you describe, most of the weight is intended to be carried on the hips and down through the legs. You should get a rucksack with a padded belt that sits comfortably on your hips.
Smaller rucksacks often include a belt but this is designed for stability rather than anything lese and should fit neatly around the waist.

Hope this helps
