GPS Waypoints and Memory Map

Q. According to the Memory-map properties for my OS 1:25k Map of Snowdonia the Datum is WGS84 and map references are give in OS format (SH 70712 38939).

If I change my setting on my Etrex Vista HCx to British Grid the map datum is automatically changed to Ord Srvy GB

How does this affect waypoints I may download.
