Q. Hi
Last year a group of us completed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks in under 10 hours and we are now looking for our next challenge. I believe there is a Lake District Challenge of Helvellyn, Skiddaw, Scafell Pike and Scafell - walking the entire route in under 24 hours
Have any of you completed this walk, any helpful info would be appreciated
Jeff Young, Stockport
A. This walk was my best challenge in the UK. Back in 1990 I managed to complete the walk in approximately 21 hours, starting from Applethwaite at the foot of Skiddaw at about 01.30 hrs. I walked from Keswick along the main road, climbed up Helvellyn from Thirlmere. Down Helvellyn, across the Wythburn Fells to Scafell Pike, down to Lords Rake and up Sca Fell. Back down Sca Fell and then North to Skiddaw. It was quite a hard day and the second time that I had attempted it. I still do the North Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge every year, just to prove my fitness to myself but I do not know if I would still be fit enough to attempt these four peaks in a day again. I wish you every luck with your venture

A. Hello,
I'd really like to take part in this challenge but I don't know who to turn to . . .
Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks a lot!
Ida

Hope this helps
