Can I enter GPS Waypoints by hand?

Q. Hi there.

I have used several of your routes and are very impressed with your site.

I am thinking of purchasing a Garmin Etrex GPS and was wondering how to enter in the waypoints from your routes.

Can I simply enter the numbers from map waypoints eg: SO 24765 26685
manually on the Etrex or must I link up with a PC?

I know it is a longer way but I would prefer to enter manually if possible.

Many thanks.

Kenneth Jenkins, Cardiff

A. The reason we publish GPS Waypoints in the walk routes themselves is so that you can enter them manually using the buttons as you suggest - which is particularly useful when you are 'in the field' and many miles from your computer and just want a reading for your next destination.

If you want to enter a number of waypoints though this method though it is a bit slow and much quicker using the free GPS Utility and a cable.
