Haw far is it from Higher Poynton to Bollington

Q. A family member is training for the upcoming London Marathon and I accompanied her on a walk yesterday. I would be grateful if you could give me the distance of the walk, which was between bridges 15 in Higher Poynton and 26a at Bollington's Clarence Mill.

I have tried to source this independently without success.

I would also appreciate it if you could suggest other walks in and around this area that would increase distance at a steady and manageable pace - and any hints on how to best achieve this enjoyably with the least pain!!

A. You can measure the distance using a piece of string and a map.

The distance from Higher Poynton to Bollington following the Macclesfield Canal is between 7km and 7.5km (about 4 and a half miles).
